- Before the wedding, BBdK says, “there are going to be some casualties at this wedding.” And there were, including himself. That Weller/Eagle Rare got people lit. Fun time and no one had more than the groom himself.

- Jaimanthony, for about the millionth time in my life, gracious and hospitable. Thanks so much. Wife had a great time.

- Interesting team. Who’s our best player? Washington? Johnson? Travis? Herro? I’d say right now Hagans is our most important.

- Like how depending upon the matchup and how they’re playing, Cal is choosing to go with one or the other with EJ and Richards. EJ gave us some good minutes.

- SEC is going to be tough but we have a team to handle the grind. Travis is going to come in handy.

Johnson is progressing quite nicely, just don't fall completely in love with the jumpshot and forget about slashing to the basket.

Doc wedding has me feeling a little hungover today. Prosecco and Malbec is apparently not a good combo in bulk.

There were at least 2 casualties... BBdK passing out on the couch and not making it upstairs to a bed. He almost woke up though when I said pizza rolls. And the second was a Destin guest for whom I had to call 9-1-1. “Yeah, we’re at the top of the old courthouse at a wedding reception. The groom IS A DOCTOR, but he’s drunk so he said to call y’all.”

The bride’s mom had the best speech of the night... twisting the knife a little about how long these nuptials took.

Good times, good times.

Worship Spider Verse. Just a fantastic movie. When Uncle Aaron pushes up the bass on Hypnotize...:eek::eek:...:fire::fire::fire:. Felt like I was in my 20s all over again.

Yeah so one of my friends was over served and basically passed out in his chair, Anth was snapping selfies with him... I went over, tried to wake him up but nothing. Took him over behind the bar, just very unresponsive. Out of character for them, not having any of it. Vitals were shaky. So yeah, called in the paramedics. He’s fine now.

I think the badge of any great party is people getting wild and doing dumb things. There was no shortage. The stories filtering in are hilarious.

Mark Richt is retiring.

Jarren Williams [laughing]
Looks like Manny Diaz is the #1 candidate if they can pry him from Temple, who just hired him 3 weeks ago.

Congrats again, Doc.

Met Jerry Tipton the other night. Actually had quite a pleasant convo with him.

Good female friend of mine from way back in the day has a daughter who is trying out for the UK cheerleading team in a few months. Another reminder that I'm getting old.

Sad seeing Randall Cobb playing his last game (likely) as a Packer. He's had a good run in the NFL, but it's looking like he doesn't have much left. Meanwhile, Wesley Woodyard is playing as well as ever in his 11th year.

Richt retiring today had be a helluva feeling for Anth. :joy:

Wedding photographer have sex with any guests or pee on a tree?
Link to news article for perspective.

Wedding photographer and part-time bikini model claims her drinks were spiked after she was arrested at reception for 'having sex with a guest and urinating on a tree'
  • Katherine Leigh Mehta, 26, was charged with public intoxication, obstruction
  • Wedding guests allegedly found her and another guest having sex in a room
  • She then began to yell at guests before going to a nearby tree and peeing on it
  • After she was put in a patrol car, Mehta began to threaten the officers as well

Perhaps the Diaz thing will work out, but damn, his resume isn't that great at all. Certainly not what you expect from Miami.

It's always a gamble to hire an assistant but its worked out recently at plenty of places (Riley at Oklahoma, Dabo at Clemson, Smart at UGA). Manny's dad was mayor of the City of Miami a few years ago. Cuban-American heritage. He checks a lot of boxes and will be very popular initially.

-Wedding was awesome, guess the wife got me out of there just in time before I did any real damage. Was having a blast & then poof, fade to black. Do remember the band was :fire:, definitely one of the best I can recall. All the lassies looked dope and not stressed or angry.

-Seems like maybe Travis wasn't in Kentucky shape to begin the season, dude has really gotten his feet under him these last few games; dunking balls that he wouldn't have gotten 1" off the floor on a month ago, and just much lighter on his feet all around. Also, the Announcers said he's already blocked more shots this season than his entire career at Stanford? Seems like that can't be right, but pretty incredible stat if it is. Add in Hagans emergence and PJ's new dimension as a utility man, and I'm fully back in -- what a remarkable turnaround.

Still too hungover to type much more than that.

A big part of it is that Cal is no longer screaming at them every second - which goes hand-in-hand with him handing over more control to them. Train and Trust.

Heard Cal say that about RT's blocked shots in the postgame radio show; watched the replay and heard Bilas say the same thing.

From what I've read, neither is exactly accurate but the point is taken. Travis blocked 21 in his career at Stanford and has 11 this year.

The season starting on Nov. 6th certainly doesn't help matters. Let alone playing one of the best teams in the country. Playing Duke out of the gate was probably a bit too much to ask. But Cal's teams always finish strong and hit their stride in March. And things are trending upwards with this bunch in a big way. The emergence of Hagans as our "MVP" is certainly going to be the difference in the season (along with the transfer of Green which allowed Hagans to grow).

Just like I told everyone after the loss - let the cake bake, don’t panic, etc.

Louis CK's character on Parks and Rec was underrated. Needed more of him and Mark Brendanawicz and less Rob Lowe.

My wife made a 10 o clock dinner reservation tonight for a group of 8. I'm not big on going out on NYE, or eating dinner at effing 10PM, but at least it isnt an overcrowded bar. We'll eat, probably finish up right around midnight, Uber home. Could be worse.

Last night was our neighborhood Holiday Dinner, which began with everyone getting a bottle of infused vodka that one of the guys brought home from a work trip to Moscow. I think it was the first time i've had shots of vodka since I lived in Blanding II. It turned into card/drinking games, including one which a participant had to read out loud the last text msg from his wife. Apparently they had been going through a rough patch which nobody knew about. It ended with a group of 40ish year old Lillywhite folks playing this game.
