If you would've told me we would pretty much break even on the boards, fouls would be 21-12 against us, and we win by double digits...

Our defense is starting to really be a weapon. Wow.

SEC schedule should start out pretty well for us, nobody too concerning.

But that last part of Jan gets very interesting

From Cal's post-game presser:

(On looking forward to the SEC schedule) "The whole league is ridiculous. And you won't believe this but were playing the top five teams in the conference twice. So, everybody that is really good we have twice. It is what it is. I told the team before the game, guys we have nine more of these just like this. They're packed, they were in line waiting for tickets, they had the date marked on their calendars and they canceled weddings. That is what they do when we come to town so get used to it. Let's have fun with it."

-My first trip to the YUM!!! today. I mean, we joke about Louisville being Louisville (and I even grew up there), but it's just astounding. They are like a parody of themselves.

-Get out of the car, walking down Main Street, first thing we see is a custom-painted red van with gothic Ls, Snardinal logos, rims and the works, windows open, thumping music on 11. Welcome to the 'Ville.

Yum! Culture highlights:

-Pregame music was of course very 'Ville, along with their hype video showing scenes of urban Louisville, and their light show repeatedly emphasizing "OUR STATE". Riiiiight.

-DJ Dogg spun a lot of awful music, including many carnival-sounding songs during the breaks. Sounded like a game show and we were expecting the clown car to roll out.

-The Dance Cam at the first break, a bunch of people stand up and floss, including the guy two rows ahead of us (upper level).

-The Dilly Dilly Cam at the second break, at which time if you're shown on camera you're supposed to chug your beer (I guess, but that's what most did).

-Video board showing some kid wearing a red "FBBN" shirt and intentionally spotlighting him without shame.

-Sampling of many, many fans dressed as 'Ville'ans (what they actually call their student section, apparently); saw some red, U of L-themed Sherlock Holmes style hat, ball cap with 2" faux brass letters that look they are screwed into the hat, spelling out "SQUAD"; pajama pants and sweatpants galore.

-Girl sitting next to me with adult Golden Retriever wearing a "service dog" vest, although she had no apparent need for it. But it was cool because I like dogs. Didn't hear a peep from the dog all game. Poor thing.

-During one break, guy stands up and starts swinging his jacket over his head. He was wearing shades of course, as were many other fans they showed on the video board. I guess it was very bright in there today, opposite of SEC West gyms.

-Awful PA announcer, as has been noted.

-Kid from student section (again, "Ville'ans") wearing a banana suit accepted a prize on the court during a break. No word on whether he got to keep the banana suit (or maybe it was BYO banana suit day).

-Under 4 timeout, video board goes nuts urging everyone to PUT YOUR L's UP! Of course by then, the game was in hand.

-Just a complete carnival, circus-like atmosphere. The only thing I did not see was stripper poles. Guess they've cleaned that up. Crazy.

Disgusting, vile, and unclean people.
