I had to refresh myself with Reid Travis, but after watching some film, my expectations are soaring. He's exactly what we need. I see a young Rick Fox.
- solid array of post moves including a effective jump hook
- decisive with the ball
- sound footwork
- rebounds in traffic and always looks to box out
- plays strong but steady, seems like a quality team guy
- brings the energy
- tons of experience
- Stanford degree

The frontcourt trio of Travis, PJ, and Montgomery could be devastating.

Just saw where the Martin twins are returning to Nevada. That's huge. Caroline returns too along with that 5 star they reeled in. Musselman could have a potential FF squad.

I guess i can understand Darkness staying in, to an extent, but I just dont understand what Vanderbilt is thinking. Dude was hurt his last 2 years of HS and a majority of his time here. Hell even Cal said at some point he wasnt sure when Jarred was going to play. I just cant see any NBA GM putting his neck on the line for this kid, but who knows. Honestly he will rank right up there with Daniel Orton in my mind. Wish the kid well but if he is slinging fries at Mickey D's in 3 years it wont hurt my feelings.

There won't be any NBA GMs putting their neck on the line for Jarred Vanderbilt. It's not like he's gonna be a high draft pick with a big $$ guaranteed contract. At best he's a late second round pick with no guaranteed contract.

There's almost no chance he makes a roster at the beginning of the season - he might not even play summer league.

But drafting him late in the 2nd is no more risk - and more upside - than drafting one of those guys from Europe that NBA teams often draft and then 'stash' overseas for a few years.

If the guy pans out, great for the NBA team that picked him. If he doesn't, it's practically no loss. That's true of unproven Euro players and Jarred Vanderbilt.

WEREPECKER IS BACK ON THE WARPATH

Last year sucked dog dick and Calipari clearly is not happy.

Good.

Literally everything he's done since the season ended has been aces. He's jettisoned a bunch of waterheaded scrubs with delusions of grandeur, single-handedly changed the recruiting calculus and locked up every good point guard from here to puberty, and gone into full on Vince McMahon mode again.

Effin' A, John Vincent. This is who we are and who we love. Darth Vader the living f*** out of it. We can't hide you.

If he brings back Antigua and figures out a way to con Barnhart into trading Stoops to WSU for Mike Leach and a women's volleyball coach and some diversity administrators to be named later, I'm not going to be surprised.

This is like when Fat Elvis disappeared for a bit then came back thin, tan, and wearing black leather to kick ass in Vegas for a comeback special.

Also, what's Rod Strickland up to these days? We could use a good player development specialist or whatever bullshit title is necessary.

I want him back, too.

^ Vern - Nevada also has 4-5 DI transfers eligible this year who averaged double digits at their previous stop. They will be loaded.

-10 Year wedding Anniv with @Wodie Sloot. That's just wild. Following MCFs random suggestion to check out this place 13 years ago changed my entire life. Crazy.

-Love to start the season 3rd or 4th. No interest in the unrealistic expectations. Lets put that on Duke and KU.

-Need more lil rides in my life. This move and busy season has me o_O

-North End Slice :pizza: Only had 1 bite of MCF's but it was really good. Will go back and eat my own slice next time.

Ideally, even if/when Travis joins the program, no more than a handful of CBB writers end up slotting Kentucky first.

40 percent of them will be starstruck by CAMRJZION and put Duke first.
40 percent of them will put KU first b/c they're infatuated with Self.
10 percent of them will try to be too cute for their own good and get WAY OUT IN FRONT by putting a team like Nevada/Tennessee/Gonzaga first.

That leaves the smart ones.

* Lot of purported basketball fans around here missing a key point about these last second decisions.....it's not just whether or not these guys are 1st rounders, 2nd rounders, or undrafted free agents -- it's the potential makeup of 30 NBA teams next season. Even with the two remaining teams, there's huge uncertainty surrounding their upcoming free agency and what their roster will look like in 2018-19. Trades, draft picks, signings, sign-and-trades.....all of that effect whether or not a guy like Vanderbilt has a shot at landing in the NBA next season. The NBA sees probably sees more roster volatility than the other two major sports combined, which just adds to the difficulty in predicting what may happen when someone goes pro.

Get better, dweebs. That's what I'm saying.

* Congrats on your 10-year anniversary, anth and Sloot. Like me, it's nice to see that others are able to find true love.

* Dreamland (Sam Quinones) -- highly recommend, and yes, it pissed me off even more than I thought it would. For something our brilliant government has so tightly controlled/regulated/managed, it's amazing :)rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:) how this could turn out so poorly. Meanwhile, weed is a schedule 1 narcotic. Jesus. H. Christ.

* Speaking of Sam Quinones, you know who I absolutely hated?

Luis Quinones. Nice glove, but that dude couldn't hit to save his f'ing life.

* Given his African roots, I'm hoping Wenyen Gabriel is more accepting of an international career than your typical early entrant. He's got plenty of athleticism and skill, so I truly do wish him the best. Seems like a great kid.

Who are the ad wizards / thought police that came up with rebranding “X Grade Gruaduation” as “X Grade Promotion”?

Were too many kids opting out of their remaining years on a false sense of accomplishment / paperwork technicality? -“Sorry, Mom and Dad, it says here I graduated. This education train ends here, at my elementary school.”

“5th Grade promotion” doesn’t make sense for leaving 5th Grade. Is that what’s happening? You don’t name your former job in the “promotion,” you name the new level.

Not my America anymore, IMO.

So they're diverting $22 million in property tax revenue (which mostly pays for schools, if I'm not mistaken) to funnel towards paying for a minor league soccer team's stadium.

Keep being you, Kentucky.
Meanwhile Cincinnati’s new MAJOR league soccer stadium includes $25 million in direct payments TO the local school system, $3 million to the neighborhood where they’re building it, build the HS a new $10 million football stadium and- in the biggest shock of all- actually pay for most their own stadium.

It’s almost as if they learned a harsh lesson with the PBS deal. The same deal that was basically copied for a college basketball team down I-71 a ways.

If you expect $130M of private capital to be put into a project like this that reclaims a blighted site/area without government help you’re smoking crack.

It’s a good project and I actually love the location. Should be pretty dope, actually.

This is all hubbub for Louisville is to make MLS’s next and final round of expansion. Those slots will clearly go to Sacramento and Detroit. BTW, look for Cranley to get a job with the Fussball team after the dust settles, IMO.

Just read up on the stadium. I take back everything I said. 10,000 spectator capacity means there are no aspirations of an MLS future. It looks much nicer than FCC’s Stad de’Blobitechture IMO.

Cincy got the draw because the other teams clearly wanted a perennial doormat hapless franchise to add to the schedule. That and they have an abundance of chubby white guys in cargo shorts that are "really into craft brews" and played youth soccer for a few seasons.

I actually enjoy watching bigger soccer matches, love the World Cup, etc. It's just Americans acting like some random European team that they chose is EVERYTHING. [eyeroll]

I can also tolerate cheering for your hometown team in any sport (while acknowledging there are some real goobers), but not one halfway across the world anything more than casually.

Was telling Chad the same thing -- feel like kid is getting written off for some reason. Guess b/c he's not flashy and Cal wanted Hagans so bad.

Kid is a competitor, and has held his own against everyone out there while being scouted heavily for 3 years & remained a 5*. Plus, he can shoot.

Edit: This storm is cray :eyes:
