Was an asshole to me

How One of the Biggest Douchebags in Sports Made Basketball a Freer Market

As Dave Hollander points out, to know Rick Barry was pretty much to hate Rick Barry. He was a vain, egotistical, offensive jerk who rarely missed an opportunity to offend, either intentionally or not (he once referred to the African-American trailblazer Bill Russell as having "a watermelon grin").

Yet Hollander, who has a book out about the 1974-75 Golden State Warriors, argues persuasively that Rick Barry helped put a sledgehammer to the "reserve clause" operating in all major sports leagues.

No, Willy, he was in the top row in Section 37. Was an asshole to me, but of all the people who have ever been an asshole to me, he's the greatest basketball player ever.

Also, you seemed to be enjoying yourself way too much with the Boogie & The Brow cam.

Well, then I yelled at the wrong guy a few times when little Canyon or whatever his name is missed shots badly. I thought it was Barry.

At least if we're on the same seed line we won't be in the sam bracket as Louisville. I'm sure WVU, Cincinnati, and Notre Dame will be our 3/4/5 though.

A few of us on here get on Tom Leach for being too polished or whatever, but he was FARRED UP yesterday. Really on point. Great stuff by him.

I know he isn't Cawood and he has the misfortune of being in the same area as Paul Rogers and Don Fischer, who are among the best to ever do it, but there are so many out there who are worse and on a day like yesterday, we were lucky to have him.

* Malik Monk busting out the rifle on that one deep three from the wing.[laughing]

Virginia has lost 6 of their last 9 and look completely lost but if I'm a 1-2 seed I have no interest in playing them in the second round as a 7/8 seed AT ALL. They seem like the kind of team that obviously has a problem as a top seed avoiding upsets but as a lower seed with the pressure off in the first weekend, with Tony Bennett shortening the game? One of the top seeds is gonna have a problem on their hands.

So haw many plays were there that Mike WHite thought were so egregious that he had to take a laptop to the ref locker room?

What a sliver spoon puss

Let's see, Allen had like 12 points in first few minutes, picked up 2 and sat majority of first. Picked up 3 first few of second. By 10min left in game, their 3 best players had 4, correct?

Refs gave Briscoe 2 in the first forcing Cal to play a good lineup and we went on a run. Don't remember why Briscoe sat during the second, contributing to another run/ freeing Monk, but i thank the refs if they gave him some BS fouls forcing Cal's hand again.

Thanks a lot referees. You sucked something awful, but you called the fouls on the right guys. I appreciate it.

In a sweet sixteen or elite eight, sure. Second round is too early for Tony Bennett and London Perrantes with nothing to lose. The second round for a top seed is for getting your feet wet and staying healthy.

I'm like Mike White, my ancient slow laptop is for business while my ultra modern tablet is for cat paw & pron surfing

Dude make 7 figures, his athletic dept makes 100 mil a yr, don't tell me they dont have ipads or kindles in Gainesville

I could handle Dale Brown cussing me out after a game but if you bring in a laptop, bitch is gonna be slapped.

Bogans Fitch and company had the best battles with Florida. Too bad it lead Florida to build a team specifically built to beat UK and ended up winning two titles.

If Wisconsin keeps losing ballgames they're going to end up playing Kentucky in the second round.

Bracket Matrix still has UK a 3 but the top 3. Good chance of Memphis with that.

1. Unc
2. Baylor
3. Kentucky
4. West Virginia

IMO.
