Her behavior and naivete may have come off extremely weird...if you hadn't met a 20-year-old white American girl before. She's not evil. She's just an idiot.

So what Chad is saying is that not only was Amanda a girl, she was terrible, but not a murderer.

Can't wait until we fire our defensive coordinator and bring in a new guy. This one will be WAY better, for sure.

I just saw my photo album from "this day 2 years ago" and it was the big win at Commonwealth vs. South Carolina. There are some pretty good pictures and videos. Adrian dancing around on the deck, Bop Gun, lots of pics with Chad with his head tilted, Richie asleep in full Keeneland gear on the couch (I think after his sister's engagement party at Keeneland/dinner during the game?), Chad asleep in the office on the floor, Willy getting pumped up during the game, everyone wearing their black UK gear for the black-out, Kirk-do actually in attendance, etc.

Good times, Wildcat Friends.

I remember that win. HUGE. It made the Cats and stoopstroops bowl eligible. They would go on to win the next 4 and play in the Orange Bowl. ENORMOUS win at Commonwealth. Program changer.

It was a big win, but it made the rest of the season a giant kick in the nuts.

-spent the last several days in Gatlinburg with the family. Beautiful this time of year if you get away from the crowds and head up into the mountains. If you have any insecurities about your physical appearance, though, Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge will make you feel 100% better about yourself. I saw a tatted up obese adult female with blue hair wearing a t-shirt that read "I pooped today." Now, I'm certainly not an anti-poopite, but come on. What's worse is she didn't really stand out from the crowd that much. And how in the world some of these places stay in business is beyond me. How many airbrush places do you really need?? Not to mention a shit-ton of pancake houses, tacky souvenir shops, outlets, fudge/candy shops, and all varieties of Ripley's Believe It or Not establishments.

-it's entertaining to get my uncle started on the whole PVW/bourbon hype. According to him it has little to do with bourbon and everything to do with marketing/status. Ironically, he's generally grumpy about the whole phenomenon. He spent his whole career immersed in the intricacies of bourbon, and resents the fact that hype, rather than an appreciation of the bourbon itself, drove the "bourbon bubble" of the last decade or so. The "age is better" thing also pisses him off because people get fixated on that and miss out on some great bourbons. The bourbon "sweet spot" is generally 8-12 years for rye, and 12-15 for wheated. Beyond that and you're paying for hype and, in most cases, an inferior product. He compares it to what happened with wine. It wasn't too long ago when people were clamoring for higher-priced wines, based largely on marketing and status. Then people began to worry more about what they truly liked, versus what they were told they liked, and there was a shift to wines in the <$20 category. The same thing will happen with bourbon.

-loving Hillbilly Elegy so far. Still toward the beginning, but he's hitting on things that I remember my grandmother talking about, such as the Hillbilly Highway. Her brother was one of those that emigrated from the mountains of E. Ky. to Ohio. Unfortunately he died young, so I never got to meet him. I wish I'd asked more questions of my grandmother, but reading Vance's story gives me insight into what they experienced. At one point, my grandfather wanted to move back to the mountains, but my grandmother flatly refused. She loved her family, but hated that life.

-fairly or unfairly, it will take a lot from Stoops to make me forgive the meltdowns against UofL and USM, or more generally the late season meltdowns from the past two seasons. And, admittedly, I'm jealous of what Petrino is doing down the street. I shouldn't compare, but it's hard not to. Sort of reminds me of a Richard Pryor bit - we're lucky women f**k us at all now, because they got all those machines and shit. You ever seen them plug those bad boys in, and they got all the numbers and shit? *loud growling roaring engine sounds* And you be standing there with just a dick. I'll let you decide who's the machine and who's the dick.

She's a very good prosecutor, has been around for a long time, has been Larson's First Assistant CA, and is the logical choice to succeed him. She's handled most of the highest-profile trials for years now.

She has a Native American name. So what. I'm glad Bevin apparently took politics out of it and made the right choice.

I guess I was a little surprised I'd never heard of her or the name before, but since she's a prosecutor that's probably a pretty good thing.

We go downtown for mini-golf, and drive through it to get to Ober Gatlinburg, where the kids love the alpine slide. That about does it.

I assume you're referring to Hillbilly Golf, not Ripley's ([eyeroll]) Davy Crockett Mini Golf? If so, no, it's probably not going to win any mini-golf awards, but the kids like the tram and the novelty of playing on a mountainside. At least it's unique.

Alabama is just next level of college football experiences. Makes UK look like the gatlinburg of the sec. I was in awe the entire time.

Having room to walk up to field level with the hedges just makes things so much better. If we had that we would probably be better at football imo.

It bothers me, but I don't think you can unring the bell. True privacy on the internet is dead unless you take some pretty specific steps that the average person will never understand how to do, or care enough to do. Basically, most people that should be caught doing something won't be caught using the methods they are using for the catching.

This isn't meant to be political, and I don't really think it is, but people talk about not letting terrorists win, but frankly, they already have won in a sense. We've significantly changed our standards, principles, and way of life all due to fear. And now that we've ceded power to the government to infringe on individual liberties in the name of "homeland security", we're most likely never getting it back. Because fear mongering, and IF U HAVE NOTHIN TO HYDE WATTS TEH PROBLIM!! ARE YOU A TURROREST OR SOMETHIN!?!

Does it bother anyone else that the flow of information on the internet in 2016 is largely controlled by 2-3 billion dollar corporations that have increasingly been shown to be in bed with the federal government? Google and Facebook have both been caught manipulating content to shape the message. Twitter as well and Twitter is about to become the property of Google, Facebook or Disney. Oh and then there's Yahoo;

Twitter blocks a lot of right wing tweeters and forces them to lobby and get reinstated. As you already stated, FB and Google have algorithms that produce trending stories. If the trending stories do not fit the left wing agenda certain editors have blocked the stories or force fed other stories into the trending section.

Who wants to control them? I think most people would be more than happy if they told the government to f*ck off when they ask for open access to millions of Americans' information.

* The terrorists have kicked our asses, quite frankly. If you don't believe me, try to rush thru TSA security. [eyeroll][eyeroll]

What's the total tab on that bullshit organization, anyways? And if someone REALLY wanted to bomb an airplane....

#1 = they could probably outsmart those d-bags
#2 = they could just bomb the 900 people corraled in line instead

Awful.

* Also winning right now --> my brother. We're going white table cloth, reservation only, dress code dinner 4 straight nights, because he doesn't want to risk waiting for a table with 3 children. I mean, there's 17,000 restaurants in this city. Surely we can find ONE that doesn't have a wait at 5pm. Ugh.

* If you like Hillbilly Elegy, check this one out as well:

Same book, only written from a comedic standpoint instead. Great stuff.

* Watched Deadpool last night. Two things....

#1 = I don't really give a flying poo about superhero movies
#2 = this one was raunchy, sexual, graphic, and had lots of cursing. Ryan Reynolds is perfect. Great flick.

* Getting my yoga on tonight. Free group class at Nola Brewery. Me, my gay buddy, about about 75 hoes. So we'll see how this turns out.

* Final rant:

Tax shaming is super, duper, extra wack. The system is rigged in such and such's favor! So and so is exploiting a loophole! Ugh. As long as the person in question in paying the amount they owe, STFU. Or better yet, support a flat tax......which will obviously NEVER happen.

* tommyg's Northern Lights pictures are amazing. Kudos for now, my friend. (before winteriscoming sets in)

Some dumb bureaucrat is going to try to shame or extort someone with his (or, much less likely, her) porn history and all hell is going to break loose regarding Internet history.

That's foreseeable.

If you (the collective you) is fine with the tax stuff, that's cool, I just don't want to hear any bullshit about you being up in arms about the poors taking full advantage of the disability system.

Hope all of you take advantage of the home mortgage tax deduction. Its a really good deal and an easy write off. Most here probably paid cash for their houses though...but to the other poors, check it out.
