Greedy Cal talking about going from 9 mil to 1 mil. Kyle Tucker!

This is more of an indictment of Barnhart than Cal.
You ain’t kidding
Like what kind of stupid is this. Even if Cal stepped down on good terms…why would we want him as ambassador around to annoy the next coach?

Would Cal be cool if pitino was doing some ambassador baloney while he was here. These bigtime coaches all have ego…and don’t need this kind of stuff

There is nothing coherent in this stupid lifetime contract

The one who gave that contract needs to go first. Then Cal. I don't want MB anywhere near a coaching hire.

Yep.

Let’s just hope Cal’s health holds up, he doesn’t look good on the sidelines. Heaven forbid he has to step away due to health issues. 🙏

We have a lot of loser fans who would wish health issues on a coach to get rid of him.

It's not greedy to keep the job that pays you 8 million dollars more. It's...common sense. I 1000% don't fault Cal for that mindset.

But if we don't make a Final 4 this season, and he stays on, he is going to become the most hated man in the state.

Misery and Money the ultimate conundrum for the wealthy

Cal is a narcissist so he will flee with a negotiated buyout and spin it

There’s not a coach alive worth more than 150K a year but somehow they get paid millions.

Me either. But I believe that the UK administration is completely happy with Barnhart and will continue to be so as long as UK sports keeps the money rolling in . So where are we ? Waiting for Mitch to retire? Kinda depressing to me .

No one would walk away from that money.

The only people on here who say they would are liars.
You might find this hard to believe, but not everyone is motivated by money. Sure, I want enough to provide a comfortable life for my family and to afford a comfortable retirement.

But I don’t need or want a yacht, seven super cars, and 4 mansions. Dont want anything close to that lifestyle.

We all are burdened by our sins, but don’t make the assumption the same sins afflict us all. Greed isn’t as common as some would make you believe.

I believe you missed the point of that post.
He understood the point. By now, they all do. But they cannot articulate an argument against the point and so they attack the person who made it instead.

You’ll see this in every thread discussing Cal. They don’t debate the issues or come up with their own solutions, they just attack the poster who made the argument.

A very clear example of this is the threads discussing Cal’s replacement. They don’t offer their own candidates (I guess they think Cal drank from the fountain of youth and will never retire or die) and they only attack the poster who offers the replacements or they attack the suggested replacements. But they will NEVER say who they would like to replace Cal when he inevitably leaves one way or the other.

My favorite thing to play on the internet sometimes is the Bezos and Bill Gates calculator. Where you basically try to spend their fortune. I played it for fun once (splurging like I never would in life) and STILL couldn’t put a dent in it.

It’s insane. I’m all for getting what you’re worth but Cal ain’t worth 33 million going away. Not even close.

Incredible post!

The only way he does that ambassador thing is if he wins on the way out and has goodwill with everyone. That’s really the only way it could work. He would take another job and walk away from it before he takes it in disgrace. My guess is he never becomes the ambassador. It was a creative incentive at the time though. If cal were winning we would hail Mitch as a genius

Those statements just confirm to me that Cal ain't going anywhere until that HORRIBLE contract ends. So just get used to his smart_ssed comments, his lack of fire, his lack of coaching, his constant clamoring about how he's ended generational poverty, NEVER winning the SEC again much less making a Final 4.

We are STUCK with him!!!

Mitch is the one that needs to be fired!!!! What is his "buyout"????!!!!!! I guarantee you it is no where near $34 million!!!

Cal needs to hire a defensive specialist on staff that knows how to implement different zone defenses and sit on the bench collecting his check. Let the assistants play a bigger part in things. Best scenario we got right now, because he’s not walking away from that contract. Barnhart can’t be trusted to hire anyone else after all of the bad decisions he’s made either. This way we can also keep Cal for recruiting and not have to rely on his bench coaching…. Could help good assistants use this as a way to get head coaching jobs. It works out best for everyone. It’s only way this will work out.

I don’t fault Cal at all for taking the money either. Not his fault a crazy contract like that was made.
