Great Beer....the sequel

Shiner Cerveza de Verano. ("summer beer"). Light. Bready. Much better than similar Mexican stuff.

Just got back from darkness and Braxton Labs. Great stuff. B labs has the best ipas and sours around. Darkness had one helluva session black IPA on as well. Not to mention a milk stout infused with the neopoliton space icecream that was damn good as well.

Had a MD appt in Columbus This am . in the Afternoon tried about a dozen new brews . Visited 2-3 new places and tried 4 at one place * The Brass Tap at Polaris , then went to Porch Growlers in Worthington , had 6 samples . Then Zaftag ( sp ? ). for 2 . Reports on Untappd' . Lots of good stuff

You drunk yet??

I had a little beer buzz.. that was over 3-4 hours and some of the 5 oz samples only got about an ounce consumed . so 5 x 12 samples = 60 ounces or 5 beers , actually less . didnt order a full one anywhere but the triple from Zaftig was dang good . As was Twisted Monkey from Victory .
I drink so much water I can usually do well at about an average of 1 pint beer per hour overall for about 4 hours. Of course those imperials and DIPA's can alter the equation but when the wife drives, giddy up!

Spent 2 hours yesterday in the distillery district in Lexington yesterday .. Both Fusion and Ethereal were really good . Near area , my first time there
I've still to go to fusion. I just got back from sons of toil brewing in mt. Orab. Very underrated place. Great beer menu and some awesome offerings.

I hit up Ethereal in November, 2017. Walked from downtown Lex out to the brewery and then back and further on to Mellow Mushroom before the UK/UI-Chicago ballgame.

Ethereal brews a superior Russian Imperial Stout - Coffee Baba Yaga. Absolutely killer. Highly recommended.

Went to Streetside and Braxton as well this weekend. The rooftop patio at Braxton is awesome. Really adds to what is an awesome brewery. They have the best cucumber beer around and some amazing sours. Streetside has good food and some of the best sours around as well. Their ipas are good and they also have the best dry stout besides Guinness on planet earth. I definitely recommend both spots.

To everyone out there that hasn't been to Cincinnati for breweries, you need to go to the Big 5 first. The big 5 is Rhingeist, Madtree, Taft, Braxton, and 50 west. Those are the first breweries you need to hit. They do it better than pretty much everyone at this point. After that I recommend Fretboard, little Miami, Steetside, Brink and Woodburn. Just a bit of advice from an avid brewery lover

I might recommend hitting the downtown.OTR breweries on one trip and the neighborhood ones the next. Sometimes we cut the city in half or in sections also which is how I found Little Miami when headed out to 50 West. NKY can become a trip on its own now as well.

Picked this up in Louisville recently and really liked it. No nonsense and no gimmick flavors.

Just a really good malt flavor.
Disclaimer: I'm stoked to see this brand reintroduced and wish them the best.
I went to their tap room not long ago. It's a nice place. The beer was a little rough but I love that they are reinventing themselves

Headed to Lexington on Sunday for my own personal beer fest. Planning on hitting mirror twin, west 6th, country boy, blue stallion and fusion. I haven't been to fusion yet so I'm pretty excited

I recommended Spinnaker's Brewpub to a friend visiting Victoria Island, BC last month. He loved it. Some of the best beer I've ever had. Haven't been back since the late 80's but it's good to hear that the beer is still top notch.

Forgot to post about a place in Lexington that is absolute NE IPA heaven .. Mirror Twin Brewery .. Oh my goodness are they on point . Had like 20 in house beers on tap . and 6-7 were NEIPA's , I even enjoyed. coconut flavored stout , aged in rum barrels . I'm going there today to get some cans to take to the tail gate before we kick that orange ass.

Picked up a unicorn today. My local small town liquor store advertised on Facebook this morning that they had Bourbon County Stout. Can’t wait to try it.

Yeah I'm learning that every black Friday Goose Island releases the Bourbon barrel aged Stout .. ( BCBS) HIGHLY anticipated and gets great reviews - I picked up 3 at my local Krogers for 13.99 each . They have a total cult following.

Country Boy Cliff Jumper IPA. Purchased at Leitchfield, KY Walmart. Brought a sixer back to ATX. Sharp. Crisp. 7% ABV. Absolutely lovely. Highly recommended. Great for this game.

Country Boy has a Habanero beer called Nacho Bait that is some good stuff too....different from anything I've ever had, been around a while. If you haven't tried it IMO it is one of those things you love or hate, no in between.
