Louisville, KY
My cousin picked up a couple of resale tix online. So we're leaving Louisville about 330pm to get in town to grab a bite to eat before the game.

Where's a good place to get good food near Rupp? Don't want to spend a fortune. Is Joe B's still any good? What else is around?

Joe B’s is ok. New owners have made some small changes, most notably the garlic bread stick recipe. Slight difference but noticeable.

I’d head to Tony’s, but it is a little expensive.

We like to go to Nic and Norman’s before games.

Short walk over to Rupp too.

We’re not making it to the game tomorrow but we will be there Saturday

Noon game makes it a little odd for Nic and Norman’s, if they are even open then?

So we may hit up Carson’s for brunch?

Sawyers is good, pies and pints, blue skillet is good (soul food). Columbia's is good (night hawk special). Southland Drive has Winchell's which is good as well. Tolly Ho's. There are tons of options. LEX LIVE right beside Rupp is good. Has good food and service (at least when I have gone).

Tolly Ho should never be eaten before midnight.

Sawyers is a good choice as well!

If you like Italian Tony & Dino’s is a very good Italian restaurant. A little pricey but not horrible for downtown. Carson’s is also a great choice.

If you want some Lexington classics Winchell's or Ramsey's is within 10 minutes of Rupp (maybe a bit more with traffic). Carson's is becoming a staple and is closer, a little more expensive than the previous two I mentioned.

Love Nic and Norman's. Their meatloaf is the tits.

Pearls pizza and Corto y Lima are both fantastic. If you want drinks too, Bourbon On Rye is a great spot and may have the best burger in town

Buddha Lounge is open. It’s a Thai/Japanese place so you can get regular Thai stuff + Sushi and bento box combos of both types.

Edit: Bah. Corto and Pearls both closed today. Bourbon on Rye open though.

You won’t need a reservation for Bourbon on Rye but you probably will for the other two unless you get there very early.
