Explaining to a fan base why the local basketball team is going to have hard time being what it once was.

I say keep bringing it on. Tubby mired us in mediocrity, got stubborn about it, left the plane pointed to the ground, then jumped off and let Gillispie crash it. We never fired Tubby yet the national media acts like we did. Philip Fulmer actually played for Tennessee, was assistant coach, and then head coach for like 30 years and they actually FIRED him, yet did not receive nowhere near the grief Kentucky got for Tubby LEAVING.

I was told by a friend of mine who is a former Memphis beat and now national that Tubby would not make it at Memphis past 3 years. It's coming true.

The problem here is recruiting and his statements to the base. The whole reason I thought the hire was bad was really because of recruiting. Even through pastner, even when tbey sucked, they still recruited very well especially inside the city. Tubby gives them none of that. There's nothing for Memphis fans to hold on to during the summer. Then of course he puts Saul Smith on staff and people are going crazy over it.

During the initial days of the hire, I thought it was so funny that even a few UK fans were saying "well he can recruit Memphis easily" then in walks Tubby and out walks the Lawson's. LMAO. People never learn sometimes.

This city is a beast. You will either give in to handlers or you'll have to do what Cal did and go national. Tubby can't do either.

The Memphis media is moving against him quickly in part because it's giving them a ton of clicks. People want Tubby out here, and I don't know one Memphis person that thinks this is going to work.

I have no sympathy for anyone who continues to hire the guy knowing full well he's not interested in doing what it takes to win. He's FOS.
