Whoever the coach is won't need to get the players cal did every year. Cause those that aren't ready for the NBA will and should return and develop. Therefore you will not have the open spots for 5-6 new freshman! Calculate in transfer portal, you only need 2-3 top freshman per year!

Kentucky isn’t going to interview candidates. This isn’t an HR recruiting fair. You offer a guy and if he declines you move to the next. Imagine Danny Hurley being asked to interview after back to back titles.

Of course UK can't "just snap our fingers and hire any coach" but we have the money and influence to get ALMOST any "we want" to listen. That's what is happening right now. Doesn't mean we get the top choice, but it also doesn't mean we have to settle for someone NO ONE wants.

Scott Drew is a GREAT coach and would be the ONLY coach UK has EVER hired that has won a National Championship prior to arriving!!!

I also don't understand why some are so upset about hiring him.

If it’s Drew, color me disappointed. Of course Barnhart would play favoritism and eff up this hire. Drew won’t move the needle here. He’ll keep us relevant enough to be a top 25 program, but be prepared for Kansas to pass us in wins, UCONN, Duke, or UNC to tie/pass us in titles, and Cal to whoop Drew in Rupp. This is not the hire we need.

Are you satisfied with our #1 or # 2 recruiting class each year or are you a NBA fan? Serious question as what did those recruiting classes get Cal and Kentucky in the last several years? Not much at all and one of the worst stretches in UK history. I think you could offer the position to any of the top 10 Coaches on UK's list who can do better than that.

Not to mention that Scott Drew has VJ Edgecombe going to Baylor, who is rated higher than any of our guys, even Quaintance.
