I'm still having a hard time with Cardio vs Cardio/Lifting v Lifting fat loss debate. I just don't see how lifting alone beats the combo.
I can only drink black coffee but I've been putting a scoop of plain collagen peptides in there for about a year now. Doesn't change the flavor and I get the benefits of stronger nails. Helps my ankle arthritis as well.Doesn’t change the consistency or flavor much more than milk, I mostly drink mine black as I began drinking it on a construction job in the summers in high school and if you asked for sugar or cream you might as well go home for the day because it’s not going to be fun lol.
And yes, since my heart attack no more pre, still on coffee though.
But with the egg whites it makes it a little lighter (if you don’t like black which I do but enjoy a change up also) doesn’t coagulate at all.
But drinking a cup of coffee with 20g of protein is cool, I use the collagen protein in the mornings a lot of times too but actual food, egg whites, is always more efficient and bioavailable.
If I’m spoiling myself, raw honey and whole milk.
If you're going purely by physiques, sprinters and gymnasts are pretty much the kings and neither is known for lifting heavy weights.I'm still having a hard time with Cardio vs Cardio/Lifting v Lifting fat loss debate. I just don't see how lifting alone beats the combo.
I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure both those groups lift relatively heavy weights. If you're going purely by physiques, sprinters and gymnasts are pretty much the kings and neither is known for lifting heavy weights.
Both of those athletes, these days, are gonna be doing some form of resistance training. Listened to McCaffery's trainer the other day talk about track workouts. If you're going purely by physiques, sprinters and gymnasts are pretty much the kings and neither is known for lifting heavy weights.
Could be, but you can get shreddy without Clen also. It’s really hard to look like that 24/365 though that’s for sure.Zero chance Chace is natty.
Is Clenbuterol one of his tips?
-Been adding egg whites to my coffee
You left out swimmers. We lifted 3x a week in high school and when I was recruited by Ohio U. (dope campus) they had a robust weight training schedule, and that was in '95. Any sport is going to incorporate resistance training these days.If you're going purely by physiques, sprinters and gymnasts are pretty much the kings and neither is known for lifting heavy weights.
Of course. At this point, the basic science on sports performance and diet is settled that some form of resistance training is going to be near universal at any reasonable level.Any sport is going to incorporate resistance training these days.
Not an issue for you right now, but if you drank the night before, it's a godsend.Started with the LMNT poured into water sitting beside this morning then coffee 30 minutes later or so. I’ll attempt this going forward and see how it goes.
So your HR was like 200? Or was it just 11% higher than what the doc told you to do?Ran my mile today in 9:47 which is awesome for me and the first time in years doing it, bad news was when I checked my phone my HR was at 111% of my max HR, but I felt great like I could’ve gone harder, but slowed down.
200?!?!?! No way bro that’s crazy. I was only at 197(literally), way safer 😉 . 11% higher than what it says my max HR should be for my weight height and age. But either way 197 is touching stupid and it pisses me off.So your HR was like 200? Or was it just 11% higher than what the doc told you to do?
So this thread is 100% correct and knows as much as a general practitioner, sounds about right, they average like 5 hours in 4 years of med school in diet/healthy eating and probably less on physical exercise. Proud of your guy though, at least he mentioned it.I went to the doctor this morning for a check up and to go over routine bloodwork. I've got a serious family history of heart disease so we always talk about that, my cholesterol, etc. I told him I'd lost a little bit of weight in the last few months and asked if I should try running instead of walking.
I shit you not --> my actual, honest-to-God American educated doctor told me that the research is becoming definitive that for longevity and general good health, a person should focus on maximizing lean muscle mass and strength. I thought about asking if he'd put it in writing so I could post it in FITYERO but I am not tasking a risk of you idiots getting access to my medical records.
So, @anthonys735 , there you go.
I'd have to add swimmers to the list. That combo of strength and endurance, especially with such limited access to oxygen, is astonishing.Gymnasts, and wrestlers.. just a different breed of fitness. They are probably at the top of my list for "doing things I never could" purely from a training and strength perspective.
