FIT.Y.E.R.O. (Meathead, wellness, fitness, diet, exercise) Thread

With liner I don't wear underwear. More comfy and less restriction. I like 7" for regular and 5" for leg days.

And no fear of the balls dropping out? And obviously you wash each time?

That's kind of why I liked underwear.. I can wash those and still get a few gym sessions out of the shorts. Don't judge me.

I wear total bullshit to the gym lol. Cut off sweat pants or some TJ Maxx specials (usually 5" inseam), old t shirts and usually some chucks or Nike blazers. I do have some cheaper shorts with liners, and I'll cast another vote in favor of those bad boys. Those 10K look pretty perfect.

-It’s 50/50 (I think I’ve said this before) on gals wearing tight tight gear or baggy sweats and hoodies, not cool with this trend.

-Ol PF in Georgetown empty today which I love so I can superset two exercises then wait 4-5 mins for the HR to go back down and not piss anyone off.

HR=102–>^140–>104–>^142–>102–>^148–>106 repeat. Resting so long in between gets, well, boring but it’s a trade off.

-What’re we listening to at the gym?
Sometimes I’ll leave on the podcast I had otw to the gym.

Post Malone is heavy in the rotation.
Rob Bailey when I’m lifting heavy.
Kygo was a regular last year.
Taylor Swift I'm not scared to clang and bang with her.
Rage because of course.
STP works.
Five Finger Death Punch has some heaters.
Eminem obviously.

So is Rob Bailey, but it’s like Chazz Michael Michaels said, “I GETS THE PEOPLE GOING!”

It isn’t about what’s cool, it’s what makes you want to get shit right.

Some one buy these college kids and HS'ers a damn mirror for their home. Tired of modeling sessions in front of every mirror in the locker room.

Don't remember it being like this even just 5 years ago. Covid must have broke people.

I’m pretty positive that every female has to take a selfie at every public bathroom and as soon as they sit in the driver seat every day.

I don’t get it, hey toots we’ve know you for 2 decades, I know what you look like, don’t need a daily update.

But hey I guess if they’re feeling themselves and it makes them happy it’s whatever.

My wife gave me a bunch of this gym wear (T-shirts, shorts and sweat pants) last Christmas. Very nice quality but pricy. It's supposed to compete with Lulu's men's line. IMO, it's better.

Ooo forgot about Rhone.

I could write a damn book on gym etiquette. Last night some kid just had all of his shit thrown all over the floor. Like it was his bedroom, waiting for mommy to come clean it. In everyone's way. And the guy wasn't even there. Probably in the sauna or worse, just left it there to go work out

I wear 20 year old basketball shorts and shitty t shirts

5th peloton ride - 5th personal record. Forgot about one of the greatest things of a good cardio burn - the 2nd wind.

The AG1 things are actually pretty good

Im all EDM all the time. Swedish House Mafia, Armin Van Bueren, DaDa Life, Tove Lo, etc. that’s pretty much what I listen to 80% of the time anyway as I’m a crazy raving weirdo

For any of you EDM heads - last two tracks I just listened to to wrap up my ride:

Other boys - marshmello

Apashe - Kryptonite

AG1 as in the greens supplement? Was looking at this the other day. Sometimes I wonder which if these things you just pee out and do nothing, and which actually help.

Also looking at Huel and some of their RTE options.

My go to for almost a decade now is still Garden Of Life Raw Organic Meal Replacement. I know it's good, because by itself, it tastes like liquid dirt.

Yup the greens. I got a 30 individual serving pack box as a gift. I’ve drank them like 4 times. Don’t feel different and I’m not sure what they’re even supposed to do, just think they taste good.

I'm sure you're never getting 100% absorption on any supplement, but multivitamins and probiotics are pretty well covered, and that's basically what AG1(any greens) gives you. I mix with a little OJ and water. Tastes good. To the point where I crave something in there.

Currently wasting money on:
Fish oil
AG1
Immunity Multivitamin (probably drop this)
Naked Whey and Casein
Ump Whey
Creatine
Psyllium Husk
LMNT

My current supps:

Cinnamon
Fish oil
Whey
Creatine
Collagen peptides
Vit d
Magnesium glycinate

A nutritious, balanced diet trumps all this stuff, but we’re all optimization dorks around here…

I thought the Huel “just add to boiling water” meals sucked to be honest. I still have some left from years ago and just always find something else I’d rather eat.

Will be picking up AG1 when I get back home and dropping a few other things.

In light of recent circumstances, I’m not taking anything but Prilosec, fish oil, multivitamin and electrolytes. I will slowly introduce a few things back in down the road but I’m definitely going to stop over-supplementing.

Those Blood Flow Restriction cuffs are something else. Really unnecessary, unless you're dealing with an injury, but if you have access they're cool as shit. I've been using them for 1 or 2 exercises a session.

Body weight squats, lunges, bicep curls with 20lb bells, tri pushdowns. All with minimal or no weight. So you're really taking the stress off your joints. It will wear you TF out. Apparently, it gets better results that low load and similar to hypertrophey but less risk of injury.

Garden of Life protein
Multivitamin from Optimen or another muscle brand
Krill oil
Tumeric pill.
Whey or Casein after a workout.
BCAAs for a preworkout. I'll sometimes take it up a notch with something containing energy or that gives me pumps.

The turmeric has really helped with inflammation IMO. I have a family history of arthritis and have had bouts of it myself a long with costocondritis (rib cage inflamation), and this helped. Plus your pee looks radioactive.

A nutritious, balanced diet is peak optimization, but how else will we keep the snake oil salesmen in business?

Of course it is, no one in this thread would disagree. But it’s pretty tough to get everything you want/need with just food considering the average person’s busy schedule. Especially for someone training pretty vigorously 3-5x/week.

-Pretty sure that funny neon pee is from excess B12. 😂 either way

Ha it could be. But those Tumeric pills are basically a bright yellow orange.. as thats what it mostly is, just Turmeric powder.

My current supps

1.25cc enanthate week
50mg oxavar50 days I lift
With it’s half life you’re honestly not getting that much from it most likely.

Oxyandrolone needs to be taken daily for it to really work because it’s completely depleted and gone by the time you’re taking your next dose. You’re not maintaining any type of baseline for growth.

It’s like taking the flu shot every other year and expecting it to work in the year between shots too.

Or taking blood pressure medicine every other day and expecting your blood pressure to be level the days in between.

Like your enanthate, you don’t have to shoot it daily or even every other day because it breaks down much more slowly. Just like the difference between enanthate, propionate and cypionate.

You can’t take cypionate once a week and expect to get anything from it.

Hard Rock / Metal with some 90's rap mixed in while moving plates. When a screaming live solo like Powerslave (4:00 mark) or Whiplash (2:55 mark) hits, you’d swear you just took a bump.

Podcasts for cardio.

Squats this am - 12x225. 8x275. 8x285. 6x305. 3x315. 12x225. After climbing the mountain that last set is a breeze.

Those aren’t @pretzel__logic numbers, but a big improvement from just adding them back in October.

Anyone do pyramids? I’ve read mixed reviews on the strategy but always felt it works well for me, especially with large muscle groups. Curious what others think.

^ I’d venture to guess that most of us around 40 learned our first programs in hs sports with the pyramid method. It just flat out works in my experience.

Throw this bitch on the buds last set.

Wife hates crunch machine, I hate leg extensions. Today we supersetted both staring needles through each other as we did them concurrently👀

But that song bro…I want that while getting a massage not lifting lol. Always funny how people’s gym music is so different.
