The trade for McBride went through, and a few people were mad, they thought it was shiesty to trade so early. But the trade was open for 4 days and it just needed 3 vetos. So their problem, not mine.

That team now has
QB - A-Rich (Daniels as a backup who might be better)
WR - CeeDee
WR - London
WR - Waddle
RB - Kyren
RB - James Conner
TE - McBride
Flex -Scary Terry (or B-rob, Jaleel, Palmer, Jaxon
D -Jets
K - Moody (San Fran)

That team is going to smash if it stays relatively healthy. I really just could use a better RB2 and RB depth.. But I really think Conner and B-Rob can be those guys.

I only got “sniped” on one guy. I wanted T. Spears from Tennessee to be my last RB and he got yoked from me last second.

Yep. If you stay healthy, you could package a couple guys together at the trade deadline and get a better RB2 orFlex.

Man I don't really love forcing people to draft a certain number of positions. I'd be curious to hear how that works out.
We’ve always done that since the league started in the fall of 1995. Not sure why we decided to do that originally, but this league is really conservative. We didn’t add TE’s as a separate position until about 15 years ago—before that, they were lumped in with the WRs. We didn’t go PPR until roughly a decade ago.

It is neat to be able to have decent players on the waiver wire to pick up each week, though. With only 40 RBs drafted, as an example, there is always someone that can help if you suffer a horrible injury.

I'm sure it's probably fine once you get the hang of it, keeping an eye on the positions. But I just hate the notion of having to take a 2nd TE when there's a lot better options at RB and WR. Also, if the protocol is you have to draft them, but you don't necessarily have to keep them (right?), then the Waiver wire HAS to be an auction system. Because it would be real shitty if guys have to pass on good players just to add a 2nd TE.. and then the guy with the 1st waiver just goes in to scoop up Blake Corum, while you're sitting there with Cole Kmet.

In a 10 team, there still should be a lot of waiver activity. There's a heck of a lot of talent still available, that will likely blow up as the season goes on. Seeing as how the league is conservative, I bet this is a change they wouldn't even notice.

Even better, we have a free for all pickup system. If you are watching a game and one of your guys gets stretchered off, you can drop a player and claim someone else, first come first served.

It is uncontrolled chaos, in the best way. We decided long ago that if you are watching a game and see someone get hurt or someone go off, and make the claim, you should be rewarded for putting in the time watching the games.

You get multiple messages throughout Sunday with people putting in their claims all through the games that day!

That's very interesting. It basically rewards those who are watching, which is a good thing to me. So the question then becomes, does anyone mass drop these extra players they were forced to draft, immediately when the waiver period opens for the year? Which I'm assuming is right when the draft is over? Because in the example above, if I already shaded a TE where I grabbed someone like Muth, and THEN still had to take another TE such as Kmet.. I'm dropping Kmet as fast as I can and picking up someone like Josh Palmer or Josh Downs who would almost for sure be on waivers.

McLaurin in the 5th, that’s a steal!

Anyone venture into RSO yet?

I ahven't. I've been using Yahoo for everything. There are definitely some things that could be better, but for the most part it's been pretty reliable. The only thing I wish Yahoo did better was do more with trophies, team stats, records, etc. If you've had the same league for years, I'd like to see more info on who the best has been, who has beaten who the most times and all that. Would be cool to see and track. Like, you get a gold trophy if you beat a league opponent 10 times, and you could compare trophies and such. IDK, there's just a lot more Yahoo could do with it.

Yeah I'm hyped on Scary Terry's season. I think he's going to blow up. My only worry is that the Redskins O-line still seems to be bottom 5 in the league.. But with Daniels, B-Rob, Terry.. I think that's a solid starting 3. And I think the NFC East might wind up being one of the worst divisions. I could see their win total being near the bottom.

Nope. You have to keep the same number of assigned roster slots all year. If you pick up a RB from the wire, you’ve got to drop a RB!

Are you just completely overlooking Austin Ekeler?

Also RSO allows for contracts etc.

I’m in a 32 team league with 53 roster spots and the real NFL budget with 1-2-3-4 yr contracts, rookie options, and extensions.

It’s made everything else boring AF.

Whoa. That's pretty hardcore.
Yeah, looking at some of these rules, they seem insane by today’s standards. We didn’t know any better back then and now we are old and grumpy so we sort of just kept everything the same since, lol.

W/o do have four IR slots where you can keep a player for three weeks in the event of an injury and pick up another guy for that time period.

Someone ten or twenty posts ago mentioned remembering scoring games by the old Tuesday USA Today newspapers. That’s exactly how we did things back then!

For fantasy, I am. I think he's close to gassed. I usually try and follow the money, and it's not like the Redskins really shelled out much for Ekeler. 2y/12mil deal for a pretty good pass-catching back.. something tells me it's going to be Brobs RB room until he gets injured.

Ekeler is 29, and he had a sharp decline in efficiency last season. I'm just too worried that cliff is there, and I try to avoid those guys at all costs. You'll notice I almost never draft a guy past like 27-28, unless there's a caveat (Terry is 28 but has only played 5 seasons) or it's a QB.

Wow, that sounds like a pretty sweet system. Sadly, I dont have enough guys for that, and almost half of them are far too casual for that type of system.

Final draft, this one got real weird as it's an IT Department work draft where half the people have never played fantasy.

I was happy to take Chase, but thought about SunGod. Garrett Wilson falling to 14th was the first inclination that this was an odd draft.. but Kyren going to the 27th?! Either these guys are clueless, or maybe they know something. I am a little concerned about Kyrens injuries and McVey moving towards Blake Corum, but I couldn't pass on him with a late 3rd. A lot of people started going QBs, so I grabbed Kyler who is one of my 4 or 5 QBs I really liked.

Davante somehow also fell to almost the 50's and I just can't let value slide past me. He's now my 3rd WR. Grabbed both KW3 and Scary Terry, who I've been big on for weeks now. Javonte is having one of the best camps of anyone, so glad to take him. I once again couldn't let someone else have a possible cheat code in Jaden Daniels. Didn't let TE fall too far, and grabbed Engram as the 9th TE.. dont love it, but I'm keeping my eye on Likely, and will probably grab him asap.

Jaxon I'm high on, Jonathan Brooks was kind of an insurance policy if Kyren busts, and somehow Zamir White fell to 127th lol. But, something tells me he's never gonna be anything more than a fringe RB2. D-hop also fell. Rico is a great RB handcuff. Didn't grab a defense, so likely going to scoop up either the Saints or the Seahawks.

Ideally, this roster just needs a better TE, could use a better defense.. but that's about it.

Engram put up great numbers for a TE last year, and I’d expect he does so again. That’s a great squad, obviously. A little health luck and you could easily win the league.

If Engram can just be a top8 top10 TE this year, I'll take it.

Man, I'm really starting to worry about Kyren. First, we know Mcvay swaps RBs easily. Second we hear that he might do punt returns (hurting his value as a RB) and then yesterday, it seems Blake Corrum is nipping at his heels.

Seems like this could turn into a RBBC before we know it, which makes me wonder if Kyren isn't going to be the first bust of the season. I have him in 2 of my 3 leagues (although drafting him 27th above isn't bad at all).

I think getting him in the third builds that risk in. I wouldn’t stress about it just yet. You’ve got WR depth to move if necessary.

I realized there's not much of a point to look at player rankings more than a week out. I had about 9 days between my 1st draft and my 3rd.. and even in that time frame, a lot changed in the rankings.

I wonder when/if the Jamaar Chase situation will be resolved.

Still waiting to see what happens with Trent Williams for San Fran. This has bigger ramifications for fantasy than people realize. If he's not there, that entire offense takes a massive hit. And having the Jets defense against them week 1, I'm tempted to roll with them.

I just wing it, and in my primary (now defunct) league I appeared in four of ten championships and won three, and in my current league I've appeared in three of six championship and have won one. And I've never once finished last. XD

Was this a 12team?

I'm really worried what JJ's fantasy output is going to be, but with Chase still holding out, it makes sense. I like the Gibbs and Devonta Smith picks. Kelce is fine. You probably could use another starting RB on your roster, as I'm not sure what Chase or Benson will give us if they still have another RB in their way.

I gotta ding you on 2QBs and 2Def, more so the latter. I'd try and find a way to get a starting RB, even if it's a crappier one, like Zamir white, and package a defense and/or Goff for it.

I'd also dump Dalvin Cook immediately and grab, literally, anyone else. Who is free on Waivers? Dowdle might be there and I'd take him in a heartbeat in that backfield over Dalvin Cook.

Edit: Kind of feel the same out Boyd. There's gotta be some other guys out there with more promise.

Cook was my Mr. Irrelevant pick. I just haven't decided who to dump him for yet. Hell, I might grab the Bears D (vs. Tennessee) just so that nobody else does.

There's gotta be some other guys out there, if you're rostering Dalvin and Tyler Boyd, then that means you might be able to get guys like Dowdle, Mason, Mike Will, Jaleel, JK, Chubba.

I just dont see a world where Dalvin Cook or Tyler Boyb become relevant, unless for a plethora of injuries.

It's funny, the guy I'm playing with grabbed the Bears defense.. and I must be pissing something. Tennessee still has Levis, who while isn't proven, I think he's beyond being in that bottom 6 or so starting QBs. They have some offensive pieces. I like streaming the Saints or the Sehawks, if you're able to.

10 team ppr all tds are 6. It's a yardage bonus high scoring league. Came away ecstatic with my squad. Got a couple hopeful league winners I've been targeting everywhere in Nabers, Javonte, and our own Ray Davis.

6 A. St Brown
15 J. Gibbs
28 N. Collins
33 P. Mahomes
50 J. Williams
51 M. Nabers
62 E. Engram
79 J. Warren
84 R. Dowdle
97 J. Palmer
106 B. Bowers
115 K. Shakir
128 T. Lawrence
133 R. Davis
150 49ers
151 J. Tucker
162 M. Wilson
179 D. Mooney

I like it a lot. A lot of the names I was targeting. Surprised Javonte went 50th ahead of Nabers though, damn. And Dowdle at 84th. Must be due to the difference in scoring.

I avoided crowded receiving rooms, where it didn't seem to be apparant who was for sure the best receiver.m So I stayed away from Houston's WR room. I have no idea what to expect with Nico, Tank and Diggs. Any of them would be the WR1, or the WR3, and I wouldn't be surprised. But still think Nico is a safe pick.

Forgot to mention the first two rounds is snake then it mixes up. I had back to back the 5/6 and 15/16 turn.

LOL at not thinking Tyler Boyd won’t produce.

1- Dhop is already hurt with nagging injuries and at his age that doesn’t get better in season.

2- Burks would be the comp for 3rd WR, or 2nd across Ridley and he can absolutely handle that role.

He's ranked where he is for a reason. He's just not fantasy relevant at the moment.

DHop, last I checked, is actually progressing ahead of schedule and should be good for week 1. And yes you still have Ridley, on a team that really doesn't seem like it's gonna be an offensive force.

This feels like Rival's resident Bengal fans simply being fans of Boyd. He's not fostered in any of my 3 leagues, one of which is a 12 team.

He comes from the same offense that coming to Tennessee. We will throw it a lot more than we did with Henry/Vrabel.

But, it's still a staff change, it's a team that's not going to be very good, with a raw QB, and two WRs seemingly ahead of him in pecking order.

Idk, just doesn't seem like a guy you draft when he's ranked outside the top200. There's no real upside to him as he's almost 30. I think I'd rather dart throw on some of these younger guys with my last draft picks. Boyd will be there waiting for me on waivers if I really want him.

I love Tyler Boyd, but Tennessee's o-line was one of the worst in the league last season and they didn't exactly improve it by leaps and bounds in the off-season.

I dropped him and picked up Keon Coleman, who I thought got drafted but I guess not. I did a double-take when I saw he was available. Wild.

That's kind of what I mean, if you have two guys who weren't really on a draft board, then that means there at least two guys out there that should be.

Who else was available, just out of curiosity. I bet there's others. Keon Coleman could very well be a league winner type if that chemistry develops with Josh Allen.
