Evan Daniels on Humphries.

In your eyes it doesn't. You're not the one whose future is going to be impacted. You're speaking from a fan perspective.

Im not talking about my preference. Having more "early entree" bust than all blue bloods combined is unnecessary. To some it possibly gives the impression that Cal doesn't always give good advice in that regard. So take someone like Howard or Capel for example. They walk into a kitchen and throw a piece of paper down in front of a recruit showing UK has just as many misses in the NBA draft as successes. Then they look at Kennard Sr. and say "is your son John Wall or Anthony Davis? Kentucky isn't for everyone, even Cal has said so."

obviously not going to hurt with AD, Wall, MKG etc. Also I'm sure Cal has good counters to it (Ulis WCS) and it can't be a huge issue due to the details, but I could see it effecting recruits like Kennard. Also it gives them a platform to talk about the platoons and over crowding.

Kentucky is the easiest program to commit to while at the same time, the hardest to commit to. Lots of variables go into these decisions.

Not good enough with what we've had.
Lol nobody is doing better. Maybe if there wasn't the one and done rule and Cal got to keep his best players then yes I would agree we've underachieved. But I'm sure if we would've had Anthony Davis, John Wall, Demarcus Cousins or KAT for multiple seasons Cal would no doubt have more than one title.

We are the winning-est program in the history of College Basketball and we have averaged a title every 11.5 years since we started. Right not Calipari has 8 years under his belt with 4 F4 and 1 Title and 1 runner-up. Again I say what more can you ask for?

The one title featured 2 elite sophomores and a great, NBA caliber senior. You see that happening again anytime soon?

I had already assumed next season would be a bridge year. Other than probably Diallo and Bamba, I don't know if there are any other OADs in this class, which would make that next season loaded.

Briscoe
Bam
Monk
Fox
Hump
Willis
Hawkins
Mulder

UK will be losing 95.5% of its scoring from this past season. According to Twitter that is the most in NCAA history for a team to lose from one season to the next.

If Wenyen leaves it would be 99%

The top returning scorer would be Tai Wynard at 0.7 points per game.

Cal seriously has to get this under control. Getting totally out of hand.

Just stop. Out of the 8 guys listed 3 are seniors and 3 more we knew were leaving after this year. That leaves 2, Briscoe we all thought was leaving b/c he evidently doesn't want to be in school.

Hump "going pro" is like a player from the states transferring for playing time. The only difference he probably knows he can get paid to play elsewhere. He's already been recruited over and wasn't going to get much clock.

All those 8 are understandable.

If Wenyen leaves it will be more difficult to understand, but Cal doesn't need to do anything and nothing is "totally out of hand". All year we knew what would happen and now people are freaking out about it.

Yes. Rumor is he's interested in going home.

Which, frankly, would be a pretty good deal for him--he'd make nice money in the Australian League, get to play in front of the home folks/family, be a local star, while living by a sunny Aussie beach--sure sounds like a good life to me.
plus he'd get himself a little Sheila

At Kentucky it does. At Kentucky you go pro after these season averages:

Orton- 3 ppg and 3 rpg
Skal- 6 ppg and 3 rpg
Hump- 2 ppg and 2 rpg

It's freaking ridiculous and has to stop.

but no one liked these players so why are they upset when they leave?

Hump is not an NBA player. If he can make money going back home and playing in Australia, that is good for him.

I have not seen anyone say hump is going to the NBA. Every time it's brought up I think it's pretty clear were talking about Australian league

We'll have a team composed entirely of freshmen and sophomores and the same national media that criticizes Cal's system will place a bunch of needless pressure and expectations on the team by ranking them No. 1 in the preseason.

FYI, Skal is averaging 9 and 6+ over his last 10 games, he's doing fine. Orton couldn't stay healthy and was a head case.

If Humphries is making 6 figures playing ball next season somewhere I will eat crow.

Effing. Stupid.

Then prepare to eat crow. As understand, players in the Aussie League typically have salaries somewhere between 100 to 175K. As a highly regarded domestic prospect coming from UK, Hump certainly should be able to land a six figure (albeit barely) salary if he returns home (and he'd likely pocket a good chunk more on top of that in endorsement or sponsor money given his homegrown status).

MIght not be NBA money, but it's plenty more than the zero he'll get if he stays at UK.

There will be posters that don't like what you have to say but you are 100% right.

here is what i want to know...why did folks not think this was going to happen 12 months ago? i mean...3 seniors have to graduate, fox, monk, bam, briscoe were all going pro....who did you all think was going to be left on the roster?

are people that clueless?

I'm not sure I follow you but I had no clue who all would leave (had a pretty good idea though) but Humphries is in no way ready to play pro ball. Maybe out of the country but he wasn't even a contributor this year. If he went to any school not named UK he wouldn't even be considered. But UK basketball is crazy so who knows.
