Evan Daniels on Humphries.

If Hump leaves and assuming those that have entered their names stay in the draft:
Greene
Diallo
Washington
Vanderbilt
Richards
Alexander
Calipari
David
Gabriel
SKJ
Pulliam
Wynyard
I do not see SKJ sticking around either, unless he is told he is a a 2 deep roster posiiton. Not really confident with either Washington or Vanderbilt playing defense as a 3.

PG - Greene/Alexander
2G - Diallo/Alexander
SF - Washington/Vanderbilt
PF - Gabriel/SKJ
C - Richards/Wynard

I would still like to see the list of guys who left early that went either undrafted or in the second round. I think these numbers are not as drastic as the claim since we have probably had more guys drafted in the first round than all of those schools combined as well.
I can think of a few but not very many.

Dakari
Harrison Twins
Lamb
Ulis
Liggins

Poythress had a year of eligibility left as well.

And even though Teague was drafted in the first round he still made a bad decision as he didn't last past his first contract.

Guys bottom line is these players owe us nothing and us whining continually over whether they stay or leave each year is useless. The constant griping over Calipari and "The Monster" some say he's created is crazy. We have the most exciting brand of basketball year in and out since he took over the reigns. We are a legitimate threat every year. As a fan what more can we ask for?

Off the top of my head -

Dakari
Aaron Harrison
Andrew Harrison
Liggins
Doron Lamb
Tyler Ulis
Briscoe
Humphries * (Maybe)

Briscoe
Bam
Monk
Fox
Hump
Willis
Hawkins
Mulder

UK will be losing 95.5% of its scoring from this past season. According to Twitter that is the most in NCAA history for a team to lose from one season to the next.

If Wenyen leaves it would be 99%

The top returning scorer would be Tai Wynard at 0.7 points per game.

Cal seriously has to get this under control. Getting totally out of hand.
Hump isn't leaving because he's so wrapped up in the OAD culture and thinks he deserves to be in the league right now -

Hump is leaving because he thinks he's not getting playing time next year.

Why would that be?

As it stands right now, Richards and SKJ would be his competition for the five spot, unless we ran a really small lineup. And Richards, while talented, has only been playing 3 years, while SKJ couldn't get off the bench before when Brad was playing. Tons of opportunity for JR. Hump to come in and hold it down.

Makes me feel very good about either Bam or Bamba, if not both.

That's not a good look either, I don't care how someone slices that up. College can also "protect" some of these guys futures. UK can get you a diploma, perks in the state, relationships etc. leaving and bombing out isn't helping anyone, not Cal, not UK, not the player.
In your eyes it doesn't. You're not the one whose future is going to be impacted. You're speaking from a fan perspective.

This one seems like it's been coming. He goes back home and plays professional ball in Australia, I'm guessing. Hope he stays, but starting to think we've got Bamba.

and never will be. i dont get why fans find it so hard to understand that these guys just want to play ball for a living and the NBA isnt the end all be all.

why would hump stay another year and watch BETTER players (bamba/richards) play when he can go home to Australia and play for a some cash?
If he is going to get a max contract, maybe, but Australia pro teams on average aren't much better paid than the D-League.

This year isn't a typical year because we did have 3 seniors. Plus if Humphries left I couldn't blame him because he's looking at not a lot of playing time again unless he improves a ton.
I think Cal could possibly tweak his recruiting in the future. Maybe he'll look towards supplementing each class with a juco and or grad transfers to have a few more experienced players on the roster. Either way we'll always have one of if not the most talented team in the country. I'll take talent over experience always. The way Cal recruits it's pretty difficult to have both.

What exactly is getting out of hand? What needs to be gotten under control? The six Elite Eights in eight years? The four Final Fours? Missing the Final Four this year on a last second shot and shoddy officiating to the eventual champion?

What part of that is such a train wreck? Is it the incoming #1 recruiting class? The pre-season Top Five rankings?

You act like it is a program in free fall. In fact, Kentucky is the program that has won the most NCAA tournament games and cumulatively gone farther than any other program in the last eight years.

This endless panic and negativity is ludicrous. Stop peeing your pants in 25 threads a day.

Thank you . There are a lot of dumbasses on here. Humphries will play next season alot less then this season as Bamba and richards will be our centers.

Let me know where you read he was a Duke lean. I don't believe the Duke guys even think that.

[thumb2]morg, unfortunately some people don't understand that part of being a UK BB player.

At least Cal will have another excuse next year besides "we are the youngest team in the country". Now he will be able to say that and we lost 99% of our scoring folks, what do you expect. Lol at Cal. You gotta love him! Lol

So just burn this place to the ground with the constant turnover that we end up with no contributing upperclassmen for two years.

Losing our whole team is going to be super fun.

Well, almost every year except 2013 and 2016. We had no chance those years. Both were seasons after we lost pretty much all of our main contributors.

Be nice to win titles.

fans didnt have a problem with this the past 7 years....why is it a big deal now?

Wasn't to the extreme that it will be next year.

Returning players under Cal -

2009/10 - Patterson, Miller, Harris, Stevenson, Harrellson, Liggins
2010/11 - Harrellson, Liggins, Miller
2011/12 - Jones, Lamb, Miller, Hood
2012/13 - Hood, Polson, Wiltjer (no surprise this team was awful)
2013/14 - WCS, Polson, Poythress
2014/15 - Lee, Aaron, Andrew, Dakari, WCS
2015/16 - Willis, Hawkins, Lee, Poythress
2016/17 - Willis, Hawkins, Mulder

2017/18 - Gabriel

Except he wouldn't bomb out. He has great options
