Matt Jones tweeted out the Admin at Madison Southern said not to do the show there. So it's pretty obvious that they knew, he knew and Bama knew and leaked it out the other night.

He just said he made his decision at the iron bowl. So he has been knowingly stringing UK on for well over a month now.

Yep, he said he "wanted to take a trip" (to UK, on Dec 13) so he drug this out, so he could "take a trip"
Hell with him. Go on to bama.

Yes and up until this information I was going to support the kid. Damaged this class in more ways than one.

You can think that, but he may have made a soft decision in his own mind and wanted to let it simmer for a bit to make sure he didn't change it before he announced a "commitment." Something I wish more kids would do. I think de-commit is a ridiculous concept, aside from hardship/coaching changes etc. I doubt the kid had malicious intent.

This is really is an issue for me also. He strung it out for "his big day". I don't understand why recruits do this. When you know just get it over with & tell the other coaches that invested hours of time with you (like UK's) in respect so that they can go after another RB that's still on the table.

He made his decision over a month ago? $%#@ him.

Did he have malicious intent? No. Of course not. But he says he knew then and he should have told the staff to start looking at other options just in case.

Remember where you read this! In his entire career at Bama he will not carry or catch the ball 100 times! Wait and see!

In fairness, he gave UK an opportunity by taking that trip. Some of you guys act like this is the first year you've followed recruiting. Can't get your feelings hurt by what a high school senior decides to do. I'm sure your coaches would have had him for a visit even if he were already committed to Alabama or anywhere else.

He's known for months. You don't set an announcement unless you know where you're going. He set the announcement months ago.

I agree, if he was certain a month ago, he should have notified the coaching staffs. However, I won't fault him for waiting if it was to ensure he had made the right decision. He seems like a good kid, and we don't know for sure, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he just wanted to be certain.

If he made the decision at the Iron bowl, he should have told the UK coaches so they could decide if they wanted to keep recruiting him. To not do so only hurt UK's recruiting others.

I don't think your coaching staff was waiting for Harris to tell them to look at other options. They know how to recruit.

Don't be childish. That is not why the show was not done at his HS. We all thought the Iron Bowl was a big deal for him. He wanted to visit UK again to make sure.

I'd assume most kids know for a decent bit in advance of making the decision. I'm sure football and basketball players we've gotten have known in their heart for a while before announcing for Kentucky, so I won't fault the kid. Just really hate to hear it.

It's a huge personal mistake for him to tell everybody all of this. But too late now. He's been manipulating people players and media for a period of time to maintain 'his' moment. I posted this earlier today but to leave is one thing but manipulate people for your own thing then leave isn't going to have anybody that is ambivalent. He leaves he just becomes forgotten but to do this puts you in dislike territory with people

You can't just show up to a public school when its in session. It's been that way since Columbine for obvious reasons.

It's all okay...Saban will not be at Bama much longer anyway.

This is exactly how I feel now. To hell with him!

If he was as close to our staff as he said he should have had enough respect for them to at least let them know Bama was in the lead and to look at some other RBs.

Alabama is RB U. I can't be mad at him for going. As to whether he strung this out...I doubt he did it for any malicious concern. I bet he took that last visit to make sure that he knew he wanted to go to Bama. He is a kid, so I wish him all the best, I hope he kills it there, goes pro, and kills it there as well.

I don't think the UK staff was holding off on taking commitments from other running backs while waiting for Harris's decision. With a player of his caliber, you take commitments, and if he decides to come, you make room for him by asking someone else to grey shirt.

Damien Harris is Bama-bound and he's know that for weeks, he told reporters after today's announcement. Harris, who insisted he was undecided as late as yesterday, made up his mind shortly after taking his official visit to Tuscaloosa in late November[/B].

Harris credits Alabama's track record with putting backs in the pros and his close relationship with incoming five-star QB Blake Barnett as the reason he chose the Tide over home in Kentucky.

But....it wasn't like it was his first trip to UK. He went to all but 1 home game this year I believe. It was the UK-UNC basketball game for the "UK trip".

How is Bama Running Back U as of late? Trent Richardson has came I to his own and Mark Ingram has been meh. Who else has set the league on fire the past 15 years?

Can we say Kentucky is Linebacker U because We have had actual real recent success with that position in the NFL.

Bama maybe OL or Defensive University, but RB has not been the bread and butter since the turn of the millennium.

HE knew all along he wasn't going to UK just wanted all those free Tics to Football and Basketball games,if he had any though of Ky he would told Stoops to also look at some more running backs but now all the good running backs have commited elsewhere, ont think much of him as a person

Ingram's been ok. Had a good year this year. Richardson's been awful. Lacy's been good. Yeldon's about to be drafted.

The fact is, every starting running back Alabama has had since 2008 has been drafted in the first three rounds of the NFL draft. You're naive if you think that's not attractive to a running back recruit. How good they do once they get there is pretty much out of Alabama's hands, isn't it?

I don't blame him for choosing Bama but if he knew after the Iron bowl, the CLASS thing would have been to tell the UK coaches.

Totally agree,he played Stoops and played the fans. I doubt that he ever seriously considered Kentucky. Kentucky was conveniently close,he loved Stoops giving him man hugs,as the fans bowed to him as he had elephants floating in his head.

No, I think I'll stay. If I'm being disrespectful I'm sure your mods will give me the boot. I'm trying to be civil, even amidst a throng of people who have lost their civility thanks to a 17-year-old.

They've put a few in the league but the point that their backs tend to be overrated is legit. I live in an NFL town and NFL fans often say don't ever draft an Nick Saban back. He'll be more beat up than a New York city taxi cab. Saban puts a lot of mileage on his backs.
