Nothing you say makes sense. You're inferring I'm the one crying? That doesn't make sense.
Seriously, what will you CSFs do when this system is out of here?
I
It would not be much of a surprise. Before the rule changed, the NBA was taking them directly from high school. I do hope he comes back. GO CATS!!
Over 9k posts??????? All you have to point out for the lameness.
you ever notice it's threads like this, and game threads where we lost the game, that have the most posts?JC this thread went south quickly lol
Here is one of the quotes where Cal spoke on Diallo playing next year for Kentucky. They were basically over the course of a month of press conferences, so they're kind of split up. I remember Cal's comments to Diallo being more widespread through secondary circles. Maybe it was all BS and Cal brought him in with the understanding that Diallo might go anyway (at which point I was and am wrong for believing the rhetoric). I'm not sure that would be a beneficial twist for Cal in this saga, however, if he brought Hami in with an understanding that he was probably never going to suit up for Kentucky. Again, if I've misrepresented the actualities, I am in the wrong.
Here's one of his public comments, the one you referred to:
“What excited me was that Hamidou wanted more than anything else to train with our guys and to practice and wasn’t worried about playing games this year,” Calipari said in the release. “It gives him an unbelievable head start on next year, and as I told him, he’s being put in a position to lead next season because he’s going to have a head start on everyone else.”

I agree with you entire post, but I don't think we're being shallow. This is UK. Our incredible program exists because of the fans and as fans, we have some expectations. One of these is not having players come in giving assurances of playing the next year, refusing to play this year and then bolting for the NBA without ever playing a game. I don't understand why so many of you can't see where that simply makes people mad.I think it really is this simple...
1. He always intended to test the waters.
2. If he gets a solid first round guarantee, he will take it. That was also always the case.
3. If he gets second round feedback, I suspect he returns. Again, always the plan, imo.
I would scratch my head a bit if he stays in the draft to get picked 53rd. Other than that, I don't think any of this is the slightest bit surprising.
He was considered a second rounder at best before he came to UK. So what are people mad about? If practicing with UK improved him enough to make a few million dollars, should that upset us?
Would we have rather he stayed in high school and maybe went somewhere else next fall?
Would we have rather he went to UCONN?
Or is it just that we didn't disrupt one of the hottest teams in the country by injecting a new player in the lineup in February?
It really is amazing how many people seem upset at the idea that this kid might have "used" UK for success and the fans got nothing out of it.
Are we really that shallow? Don't answer that.
we'll be less talented and not be in contention for titles
But hey least we'll have 4 year players so the Cal haters will be thrilled
If Diallo actually has told staff HE WILL be back but ends up staying in draft Cal should publicly throw him under the bus. If he never said he'd come back then I understand.
Valid point, but why even come if that is the case?because he didnt want too. if he wanted to play...he would have went to uconn who would have started him. he and his folks are smart enough to know that playing 1/2 a season would have dont nothing by killed his draft stock because its coming into the season at the hardest possible time.
lol people like to talk more when bad news happens.
Brings out all the crazy people too lol
Like I said, we should not be surprised by what happens. GO CATS!!He was barely a top 10 recruit at a position that requires a solid shooting touch. His main weakness is shooting. I could name 10 players at his position alone that are more ready for the NBA right now.
I would be AMAZED if he kept his name in, but stranger things have happened here.
Some get very defensive if you think we have missed out on a few titles under Cal. Maybe they're just as frustrated with Cal, but feel bad for having those feelings. It is rewlky

as well as UK fans just expressing feelingsMost are not fans but trolls and other teams fans.
Exactly. and boy there are some trolls and as irish said keyboard bitches out tonight . LMAO.That's it.
The thing is, I always expected him to leave (with Cal's blessing) if he shot up into guaranteed first round money.
I still don't think that's going to happen. We'll see.
Are you a fortune teller? You have no clue what will happen. Your all's gloom and doom is weak, tired, and lame.
I was going to post something similar - asking if everyone recalled thatLast year, every single payer on the team, including walk-ons, declared for the draft. It can't hurt anything to go through the process and get all the information you can. They've got until like May 24th or something to come back.
If I'm not mistaken, Briscoe did this last year and didn't decide to come back until the day before.
As one scout said tonight - he might get a team to draft him on a flyer in the 2nd round . He ain't going to get the 1st round pick he wants IMO but we will see I guess.Looking through the mock drafts I don't see him passing many of the players. It's a very strong draft with very good guards and I don't see any way he goes first round.Of course he could just want to leave but next season is very weak draft and he would sure get more money if he returns.
Cal does not owe the fans any communication regarding a player.
In fact Cal lies about them every time if he needs to protect them.
Cal seems to be scurrying for guards now.
But I'm not sure why you think we are entitled to an explanation regarding Cal's recruiting decisions...?
If he impresses the scouts he will be.As one scout said tonight - he might get a team to draft him on a flyer in the 2nd round . He ain't going to get the 1st round pick he wants IMO but we will see I guess.
well hell - busted![]()
As good as he is and with the climate today, Cal should not spend much time on any players that will be eligible for the draft. He knew that in the summer.
“Me and Coach have spoken. I came here with a certain plan, so the biggest thing for me is sticking to that plan,” Diallo said in his first meeting with Kentucky media on Friday. “This semester is preparing me for next year. It’s been hard to do, but it’s a plan that I had well thought about before coming, so this is a plan that I think is best for me to stick to.”
Though he was careful not to say WHERE he planned on playing next year, just that this half a season was preparing him for next year.
You don't need a crystal ball to tell that there's no coach that recruits as good as Cal. You don't need a crystal ball to see that talent wins.
In the long run yeah we'll be fine but gone are the days kids come to schools just because of the name.
Hilarious you are talking about doom and gloom.
That's exactly what the ANTI Cal crowd is doing in this thread.
Four final fours.......it's not that bad lol
Valid point, but why even come if that is the case?
He said it 1 million times.. he wasn't ready thus didn't want to risk the little buzz he had with The scouts by being exposed in the NCAA showing up mid season. If he wants to go, then who am I to complain. It's his life. But, where I get foggy is; why didn't he play this past season? I could understand if he thought that it might take him a couple of years. But, if he was already planning on entering the draft, it seems like he would have at least tried to play some this past season.
Diallo won a lot.
If Diallo actually has told staff HE WILL be back but ends up staying in draft Cal should publicly throw him under the bus. If he never said he'd come back then I understand.

This is UK, not a pre-NBA camp. There are expectations and rightfully so.
