...are all potential losses for this team if they play games like they played tonight. And even having Lee on the floor is no guarantee things would have turned out differently.
Also could get really stomped at KU. Might even take another loss (or two) before SEC play starts.

I don't know if I agree with the statements that we should have killed UCLA just now in this game. This was a road loss that will happen a couple of more times. Most teams have lost and UCLA is not the same UCLA team from last year. They have Parker and Welsh underneath and nice guard play from Alford, Holiday, and Hamilton. We just traveled across the country with Ulis not 100%, Lee out most of the game, and this was the first true road game of the season. We will be fine and will get better just like most of Coach Cal's teams before March Madness. We need Skal to get tougher underneath and we have to convert our layups that were mostly missed in 1st half by POY and Skal. We missed too many close in shots and layups tonight. Cal will use this defeat to make us better as we continue to play before SEC Play. Murray and Briscoe was looking so much better in the latter part of 2nd half. Ulis will be better from this shoulder injury and Lee won't be out most of the game. Need Skal to be stronger underneath and we will be fine.

Good points. Do you think we need to shoot the three ball more instead of insisting on driving the ball into a packed in defense?

That, IMO, is the fundamental question that we need to confront before SEC play as we will see nothing but tough physical play with packed in defenses.

Not sure where you got that from what I posted?
The schedule is going to be tough for this team unless they change and improve. I listed the potential losses from the teams we know we will be playing in the regular season. We may lose more or we may lose less. But, I think a safe bet is on 8-9 losses. Performance in the NCAA tourney is unknown as we won't know who we will face until March.
However, a National Runner-Up banner for this team seems a bit optimistic.

This team is starting to look more comparable to the 2014 team than the 2012 one record wise. I can see this team easily losing up ten games in the regular season right now.

Even in the Duke game our weaknesses were obvious. As I said, we made Plumlee look like Bill Walton.

All I want is for us to be realistic about expectations so we don't totally melt down when we start dropping A LOT of games in the SEC.

Quit referring to the Duke game as some kind of barometer for a garbage season. After the first few minutes we settled down and completely wore them out. It never got to single digits for almost the entire 2nd half. We were up 16 at one point.

IF we play like we did tonight. If we play like we did against dUKe we won't. Why base the rest of the season on this game? The one loss in 8 so far.
