Daimion Collins commits to LSU

Sure man keep loving up your man Cal.
Cal sucks and I’ve been ready for him to leave for a while, but stop using your narrative to blindly hate on kids that can’t help Cal brought them here and they weren’t good enough. He gave his all. He wasn’t getting playing time here. Wish him well and move on with your life.

I didn't hate on anyone snowflake.

It's literally 6 hours closer to his home.

LSU to Atlanta Tx- 295 miles
UTEXAS to Atlanta TX - 321 miles
TexTech to Atlanta TX - 518 miles
A&M to Atlanta TX - 248 miles
Baylor to Atlanta TX 221 miles

I know geography is hard but he moved a lot closer to home.

The only major schools closer were TCU and SMU.

Looking at TCU, they are bringing both of their main PFs back in Emanuel Miller and JaKobe Coles, along with Micah Peavy. They also have their backup center that started some, Xavier Cork, back too. Then they picked up an Oscar-lite guy in the portal in Essam Mostafa. So he would be 5th or so on the depth chart there too. Maybe Miller/Coles/Peavy play a lot of SF, but Collins would have to fight for PT there regardless.

SMU has less competition. I thin Collins would maybe even start there. But they've brought in a couple bigs from the portal and returned a few Collins-level guys. They are in the AAC though, which is losing several of the top schools once again and adding 6 really mid-major teams.

I mean he's not going to start there. SMU and TCU are the only other options. Maybe he likes LSU better.
He not only will probably start, he might be LSU's best player.

Also, his mom is out in the middle of nowhere.
3:10 from Fort Worth (TCU)
3:55 from Waco (Baylor)
4:20 from Houston (UH)
4:20 from College Station (TAMU)
4:35 from Baton Rouge (LSU)
5:00 from Fayetteville (Ark)
5:00 from Norman (Okl)
5:20 from Austin (UT)
5:20 from Stillwater (Okl St)

Those were his closest choices, unless he wanted to be at a mid-major, and even then he was looking at being at least 2:30 away from her.

It’s insane what hatred has done to members of this board. I’m done with Cal too, but to look away from facts and blindly hate on a kid that went through tragedy and stayed here is beyond my understanding.

That's a myth. The elite talent that has passed through UK on their way to NBA success were always going to end up there.
Yet another phony baloney credit falsely attributed to the used car salesman.
Did that salesman get that elite talent to pass through UK?

Don't you dare bring your facts and reason around here sir!

I can't see how you can think Collins would be LSU's best player. IMO, he probably will get 15 MPG.

I didn't realize Baylor and Houston were closer. He definitely wouldn't find playing time at A&M though.

I think it is most definitely a swipe at Cal. It gives Damion a chance to play against the coach that did very little to develop his game and buried him at the end of the bench. LSU is closer to his home than almost any other big school, but has that added bonus also.

Good luck Mr Collins!!! Hope you have a great bounce back year. I’ll be pulling for you against every team but one.

Yeah I'm not even sure he starts at LSU.

Is this a parody account?!?! You said no one is hating on Collins and you literally said the most hater thing in the whole thread:
If you are this sensitive maybe stay away from message boards. My goodness how do some of you guys live in the real world....

Yes, because he's a successful used car salesman. You think guys like Wall, Davis, Boogie and most of the rest couldn't have gotten to the NBA anywhere else or under any other coach?
That's my whole point!

They could have had success somewhere else. But I'm happy he got them to come here instead of somewhere because I got to cheer for them and enjoy their time here.

I wish him well. He doesn’t owe UK or Cow anything. I find it sad and comical at the same time that our fans think he should care what Cow or the fanbase think when picking a school. He should do what’s best for him. This isn’t Pitino going to Louisville.
It's insane how entitled some of our fanbase has become. The kid literally moved hours closer back home. He did NOT have to choose a school in the state of Texas just because he was making a family-based decision. Still needs to be a good fit, consider playing time, consider NIL, consider family obligations, etc.

KJ Williams was a 5th yr (Covid) SR. The rest of that LSU team really sucked. I'd have put Theiro, Wheeler, Collins, Onyenso & Fredrick against them (w/out Williams) and felt good about winning.
Collins would get 15mpg next year at UK if he returned. if he don't start, he's getting 25mpg. But unless they have a really good portal transfer, I think he is their best player.

What a terrible take. No shortage of these kind of ill-informed takes on RR lately
Actually he has a point.Collins had a huge loss so gets somewhat of a pass but to be honest in his first season he looked worse in the end than the beginning.Ware was here 3 seasons and never developed one post move.Livingston didn't improve by the end of the season either and Wheeler regressed before quitting. Why is that?
