D-line transfer

Is it official? I thought he had more visits?
I know what you mean but does that word even exist anymore with recruiting. I've seen several players the last couple of years commit to a transfer and end up somewhere else, either back to their original school or another school entirely. The art of negotiation I guess.

I mean it is a good get, but it's hard to blame people for being a bit negative after a 4 win season with basically zero major changes.
It has nothing to do with blaming people, although that doesn't seem to be very well understood. It has to do with taking pride in, and responsibility for, one's public behavior, even behind the guise of a screen name. Or not.

If only we could win 15 football games every year. Then we could have near-consensus on the board. Right? But it doesn't work like that. Coping is a key to every aspect of living. For a decade, the trend has been for Stoops to win 7-10 games. For different reasons, 2020 and 2024 were outlier seasons. Will the sky fall? Are we still the Big Blue Nation? Do we give up, or do we fight on? Deal with it, and support our guys in public.

Support our players absolutely. Yet them players you speak of have been leaving at an alarming rate at the drop of a hat. We probably would be in better shape, if Mitch wouldn't of handcuffed us.

That is a perspective but.....

1. 7-6 in 2022 and 2023 were disappointing seasons...follow up by a a 4-8 disaster....that is a trend not a one year blip
2. Losing Schlarman....Stoops can't recover the Oline performance. Also, it's abundantly clear Coen had an offensive direction that Stoops is stumbling on that side of ball without a good OC to lead.
3. To then run it back with the same staff that failed to miserably.....why now is Bush/Wolford in particularly going to turn a corner on offensive side of ball?
4. I hear of bad culture...but losing Key and Gilmore..( I have no qualms losing Barion..he's been way overrated at WR since day 1)....but Key was very productive and Gilmore showed a ton of potential after he came back.

We'll see on Oline....they were atrocious but having MAC level kids come and tell me we found the diamonds in the rough....struggling to buy it.

5. The defense suffered massive losses no matter how you want to slice it. One 1 player back on 2 deep depth chart (and Saunders was a rotation piece). Both Jack LB are gone. Both inside LBers (who were very good IMO) are gone, etc....

All in all...it's hard to see 2025 getting to even 6 wins with the schedule

I hear people complaining about the loses on offense and defense especially, but can we really do much worse than last season?
Not much difference between 4-8 and 3-9

2022 should have been another 9 and 3 season with that schedule. If Stoops does that (regardless if he wins the bowl to get to 10 wins), he isnt under as much heat IMO.

Thus guy is a great get for our defense. Defense isn't the issue though. Defense won't be why we probably win 4 to 5 games next year.
