Exactly. I live in a pretty poor rural county. Wife is a nursing home nurse. They haven’t received any. But this is republican country.
St Augustine. They say it does better in our zone (9a) along the Gulf Coast than Bermuda. It can be grown in full sunshine and shade. We have a lot of trees so that is important.
St Augustine may be a little more expensive to maintain. We have had good results with it. I had Bermuda in Georgia but the first frost tuned it brown and it remained brown until the Spring.

Now my mouth is drooling and making a mess.I just heard on the radio all health care workers, doctors, nurses and support have all been vaccinated in our county. As have everyone in nursing homes. The vaccinations were not mandatory but it sounds like most people wanted them.
My son had one Tuesday. I will probably get one but my wife will not. But she drinks buttermilk every day.
We had a little action in the back yard. A very large bass died in the lake and these boys all gathered around to share a meal. They keep things nice and clean and it is against the law to harm one.

I live in a solid big time conservative county but our governor made the guidelines and all 67 counties seem to be carrying them out. He said all health care workers and nursing home residents would get priority vaccinations. They are at most risk. Next will be ages 60 and up.
I haven't heard how the liberal Southeast counties are doing (Dade-Miami, Palm Beach and Broward) but if it is like everything else they touch it will be screwed up. But I hope not.

Totally agree. UNC seems a better fit geographically. UK has also played the Heels more frequently than the Bruins over the years.
My two yards in Jacksonville were St. Augustine. It is rough to the feet but it is a wonderful lawn if you have a lawn service that takes care of it. Kill the mole crickets and it go to town.
Controlling mole crickets is the key. About 40 years ago I had Bahia grass and fighting mole crickets was a war. We had street lights out front and at night you could hear them being squashed as cars drove by. It was a battle to control them.
I haven't had the problem with St Augustine but I have a regular lawn service that fertilizes and controls the weeds and insects. They do a good job. It takes about 4 treatments a year so it is inexpensive.
Mole crickets are just plain ugly and they can wipe out a lawn in no time
Good morning from ATX. Currently 30°F and clear. Chilly out. Heater kicked on. My morning hike looks like fun. Today's high may reach 64°F.
I ran into that local homeless guy with no teeth again yesterday morning during my hike. Surprised he was up so early. He sleeps out in the open in a nearby abandoned lot that's full of trash. Hope I avoid his ass today.

My friend Darryl Buckingham lived in Cape Cod but he had a 400 farm in New Hampshire. The farm had 1,500 sugar maple trees. They were all connected by plastic pipe and in the winter they would score them and the sap would run down to the bottom of the hill into a tank. He got enough money from the sap to pay the taxes on the farm. Maple Syrup is big business up there.

I've read about a similar setup out in Eastern Kentucky. My cousin's son, who also lives up on Nolin Lake, owns 7 acres nearby. He's checked into tapping the sugar maples on his property. He might not have enough trees to make it worthwhile.
The clear lines are the ones running directly from the tree and the black tubes are the "trunk" (pardon the pun) lines.
So we have a Higginbotham that's friends with a Buckingham in New Hampshire around Cape Cod with 1500 sugar maples??
My wife's online order has went from Indianapolis to Charleston, WVa( 1 1/2 hrs from us), to Memphis. No wonder companies are struggling.
We all better pray the cost of fuel does not go up in the next administration.

This is a cartoon but in my day you could take a few things away and it would be on the money. We required a quarter to bounce off of a made bed so that you could catch it in midair. If a trainee did not make it that tight they had to run a mile before mess.
You would not see a weapon (M14 Rifle) laying across a bed. It was either secured in the rifle rack or on being held by the trainee. On the range we would stack arms.
I have had trainees spend an hour to make sure their bed was made tight and then sleep on the floor rather than mess it up. Inspections of the barracks was at 6:00 AM

Checked their website and no one around me sells it, but I did notice quite a few Krogers in Ky and W Va do. Wonder why others don't, unless there's a problem with delivery that's too far from where they make it, like the old days with Coors Beer.

You bet. He was my high school friend, college roommate and life long friend. He died in August 2015 from cancer. He was also a distant cousin. The mentions that I have been making about a cemetery in Edmonson County is the burial plot of many of our common kin from a century ago.
Darryl got rich. The house in Cape Cod sold for $5.9 million. He owned it, the 400 acre farm in NH, property in Corpus Christi, TX, a 10,000 acre ranch in West Texas, a condo in Midland, TX and a bunch of oil wells in Texas. He also owned and started the best tequila brand, 'Blue Head Tequila'.
Darryl lived big and he never forgot his old buddy. He visited five or six times a year and we would tell lies to each other.

Good question. I may be wrong but I think all Fresh Markets carry them during the season. Their eggnog may have a short shelf-life so they can't expand too far. Also, the season is so short, Thanksgiving to Christmas, that it might not make sense for mass distribution. Just brainstorming.
Church's Fried Chicken is still going strong down here with more than 30 locations. There is a location in Clearwater that I first visited in 1970. I still go by and enjoy it. I love fried chicken and they have a good product.
I have seen Church's locations at travel plazas and sometimes combined with a large fuel stop. I will have to try it.
Under Obama I remember filling up a big van at $4.09. I paid $1.79 this week.

I have some Bermuda, and filled in with some St Augustine, which all have turned pale. I have overseeded with Rye grass so the yard still has some color. Our club's fairways and tees are Zoysia, and they have turned, as well. The way I see it, I would rather have some pale places in my yard than to have to water all summer.

Yep. I just saw that one of the women that was among the top brass in the EPA under Obama, just was appointed by Biden. I guess there are still some power plants that they didn't shut down that need to be taken care of. Plus, Joe has vowed to stop all drilling of any kind, so natural gas and oil will really go up, too. People hated Trump so badly, that they forgot the consequences of electing Democrats. Now they will get a reminder.
