Morning Legionnaires!

18° this morning with a wind chill factor of 3°. High in the upper 20's expected, similar to yesterday. Walked the monster yesterday and had to bundle up because of the wind. She was just having a good time out and wanted to go as long as we could. With no wind, it would not be so bad. But that wind cuts like a knife.

Rooting for the Bills to take out KC. Was glad to see them take out the Ravens. Watched both games yesterday and was indifferent about the Rams and Eagles. Will watch Ohio St. and Notre Dame tonight and root for the Dame. Old ladies are classics. ;)

You folks enjoy the Holiday and relax a bit and God Bless.

Good morning everyone.

6 degrees here on Pine Mountain. I plowed my driveway and our county road last night before dark, but now have another inch or two. I guess I'll try to get it again before too many people drive on it. Brrrrrrrr.

I'm not too interested in the NFL anymore but did watch the Bills vs Ravens. Go Buffalo. I've always rooted for the AFC teams. Well, actually started back when they were still the AFL. I've noticed that I usually only root for the original teams from when I was a youngin back in the 60's.

Stay warm and enjoy your day.

Good morning folks. Working from home, far away from the inauguration events. Sorta wish I could be downtown. The procession carrying Trump will pass right by my offices, a couple blocks south.

The first inauguration that occurred after I got to Washington DC was Reagan's first in 1980. I got up before dawn that day, made may way into he city, and found a spot along Pennsylvania Averna where it makes a hard right turn to go past the Treasury Building, then a left to the White House. There was a huge tree there, then and now, and I parked myself in front of it with a 35 mm camera I had from a college journalism photography class.

(I was trying to break into newspaper work, and was determined to cover the inauguration like a reporter, even though the only job I could find then was as an editor at a trade association writing about legislation and government regulations affecting canned foods...)

All morning uniformed Secret Service guys walked by me, and a couple looked through my bag, but incredibly no one asked for any press credential or otherwise hassled me -- and I was just some kid of 23 hanging out with no real reason to be there. When Ron and Nancy passed by later that morning I got some beautiful photos. Reagan looked right at me with a big smile. So, where are they? Lost somewhere along the way. WIsh I still had them.

Of course, just a few months later, a kid about my age shot Reagan and others in DC. So, I doubt anyone has got to stand by that tree again without a much more thorough shake-down.

I was working about halfway between where Reagan was shot at the Washington Hilton and the George Washington Hospital and remember all the hullabaloo as ambulances and Secret Service cars and so on screamed passed my offices at the National Food Processors Association at 20th and M streets. A few days later, me and a buddy just walked up to the hospital at lunch time, and we happened to be there when Reagan came to the window and waved at a big crowd of people standing there. A lifetime ago...

Hope this is a good day for all you folks.

This was the last time. They missed so many spots and places. Just showed up to say they did. I have a feeling this will go to court before it is all said and done. I have been an expert witness in court. I did have an arbitration hearing in my home but this will be a new experience. One I could do without but I am determined this must stop... We shall see.

Bert, I got a conspiracy theory on this, ESPN hates Kentucky, so they throw their anti-Kentucky crap at them to influence the outcome! Heck I just watched a video where they blamed the BBN for Cows and Arkanass failures!!!!
I recall reading that a long time ago when ESPN was getting started, they wanted to air all UK basketball games and the SEC would not approve it. Not 100% sure it is true, but did read it. If we had become ESPN's darlins...

Mr. Bernie, I remember when I was working on I-24 in Paducah in the early 70s, HBO was just getting started I think, but anyway, HBO wad showing college basketball games, I remember watching UK on it!!!

I was a lot younger then with two good legs, but I lived near the work site of I 24 at Paducah. When no one was working, I would get up there and run to the Ohio River and back. The bridge wasn't built yet. Btw, I read the I 24 Ohio River bridge was the first and last bridge that company ever built.
Also re ESPN, I read They wanted to hire Larry Conley as their #1 announcer.

Good morning folks.

Heading out for a run. It is 7f here. Yes, seven. I can’t remember the last time it was that cold, and with the wind it feels even colder, so I’m going to bundle up and be careful.

Cats need a win on the road tonight. That’s a tough place to play, but I hope this team continues a pattern of playing well after a loss.

Austin, I hope the chemo is not canceled and is as mild as possible.

You all take care.

Morning Legionnaires!

Same here as MdWIlcat55, 7° with a wind chill factor of -6°. Going to be a frigid walk with the monster this morning.

Got a visit from and old nemesis yesterday that I had thought I had got rid of early last year. A mole popping up under my bathtub in the master bathroom. Kicking dirt up into the doors that open up under the tub area where the jet pumps are. I can't figure out why when they built the house on a slab, they left that area dirt with only rocks and cement mix under the bottom of the tub for support. I will probably have to call an exterminator because I can't reach the area on the other side of the tub where it is digging. I can barely reach around with a spray wand and a mix that is supposed to deter them but...We'll see.

Notre Dame sucked last night. I quit watching midway through the third quarter because it was getting ugly.

It is a Tuesday/Monday for the grinders here so, stay warm out there and God Bless.

Kentucky’s next game is Saturday at Vandy. I’m ready for some warmer weather. 🥶
Everyone have a safe day.

Of course don't mix them but use ammonia or bleach strong in that area. Not sure of the size of the area but about a quart mixed half and half with water

Will keep the mole away for a long while. May have to do it again a time or two but a cheap effective remedy. Let it soak in the dirt wherever you can reach. May need more but that should be enough for the common trap size opening. Take time to let it soak in.

Either or either or... Not together on the bleach and ammonia...;) I know you know. You'd be amazed at what some have done...

Good morning everyone.

4F here on Pine Mountain this morning. Snow plowing with the SxS yesterday was eventful. Coming back up my steep driveway with ice under the snow about got me. It's not the first time I've been stuck, but this time happened to be on the narrow spot that could take me over the hill. My winch is not working so I cannot raise the blade when the snow gets too heavy on the steep part. It took some careful driving skills (luck, lol) to get out without rolling.

Dang, Ohio St. looked good for the time I watched. What SEC team will step up next year?

I'm a little nervous about the Vandy game Saturday. They looked good against TN.

Stay warm and have a good day.

Stepped away for a few minutes to see my wife off to work. Opened the garage door and the frigid wind blew in. As soon as I got back and opened up my laptop the normal weather app popped up saying it was now 5° with a wind chill of -3°. At least the wind has died down a little to make the wind chill not as low as before, but I did not see this temp going lower. Hurry up Mr. Sun and get the temps up a bit before my walk. Doing a light leg workout in the living room this morning before the monster walk, because the shop is too cold. You folks stay warm this morning.
