Good morning all,
Rowsing now, sounds like My Darlings awake, listening to her phone and the south Korean conflict reporting. Korean news is as bad as The "American* news but that countries populous is also finding out the lying, non reporting and deceit too.
Getting my house ready to be trashed all next week by the builders Monday who are coming back to repair our ceiling drywall and wall issues again. Will only work here Monday, then Friday so a dirty trashed house all next week....

Some of the wild ducks are very good. It depends mostly on what they eat. Puddle ducks eat mostly plants and are good. Diver ducks can feed on fish plus plants and they are iffy. One of the worst wild game animals I've eaten was a diver duck (Bufflehead). I raised Chocolate Labs for twenty years and absolutely loved duck hunting.
I'm not sure I've eaten a domestic duck either.

Oh, a buddy of mine called me yesterday. I met him by hiring him when he worked in Colorado for my agency at the time. He got another job with the Army near me, we met and his wife, my wife and I became good friends. He is one of the Chief Cloud officer's for the space force now. He just told me after two months the scum chump, that he got the job at Fort Knox he wanted to be able to come home and be near his Dad. He named me as a former supervisor/ manager and I got the chance to talk with the hiring manager for his job for a good bit talking about Kentucky and Fort Knox. (He is tremendous at his work but a glowing recommendation works wonders as well.) It seems the hiring manager and I knew each other way back when, when I worked at Knox... I was kind of down because I thought he never got the job and I knew he wanted it but even after my glowing recommendation I thought I failed him for a couple months now. He's such a turkey.
Anyway he's going home a big shot. A serious Big Shot. (He deserves it.) Just a feel good story that helped me keep going yesterday. Deer must be prepared properly but the jerky, Oh the deer jerky... An experience... Yeah Duck I can take or leave. Ate a good bunch of it over in Korea but I called it a cross between chicken and turkey but more bland. (Just me...)

Okay, I will tell the story of my Buddy, I mentioned above. I took his wife to have her baby. It worked out he was in a class in DC and couldn't get out of it. I took his wife at five or so in the morning to the hospital to have her baby. He came late that evening as she was having it. When I dropped her off She hugged me and kissed my cheek and thanked me. I looked at her and said; "I didn't do anything." I think I made her go into labor as she started belly laughing so hard.
She had a fine son. She is quite a bit younger than my friend as he was I think 55 or so at the time. It was not his first child but she had to go through some costly treatments and procedures to even have a child...
Always struck me funny as I tell people I took my Buddy's wife to have her baby... I have had many experiences in my life but that was a new one...

Good game so far. Have to stop Nelson in the 2nd half because he had his way in the 1st. Also, it's amazing to me just how many close in shots Williams misses.
Tough loss. I always hate to play a top team coming off a loss so this isn't unexpected. Cats gave up too many easy buckets and offensive rebounds not to mention losing the 50/50 battle. This team is one of the best offensive teams in the country but their defense will lose some games. Still, hard fought and they never gave up.
It hurts me to watch a game like that. This is an older team and I am concerned as to if they can "impose" there will on other opponents or even learn that at this stage. If not at Rupp, not sure it can happen at all.
Just hoping Coach Pope can pull off some magic. Won't use any old terms but if a switch can be turned on defense-wise or an applicable result, who knows...

I can only speak of my stateside antics while in the service, I cannot imagine the areas you and others served. My big deal was Grenada. (Nothing to compare.) I got wasted more than a few times to where I could remember eating but not what I ate which is why I stated what I stated. (As far as you know...)
Yeah, but Alabama is an older team too, with Nelson and Sears both 5-year players with multiple years in Alabama’s system and returning from a Final Four run. And they lost their last game AT HOME to Ole Miss.
I’m just not sure it’s realistic in the SEC this year to talk about any team being good enough to “impose their will” on the other top tier teams. You are just going to have to hope to make more plays and have a better shooting night than the better teams in the league.

It's already snowing and sticking on the driveway here in the mountains. It's looking doubtful for in person service today. Thankful for online streaming.
Tough game yesterday. I wonder why we struggle to get 3 point shots off, but our opposition seems to be open quite often. If we shot as many 3's as they did a possible win???? Oh well, still enjoying most of our games. I watched the 2nd half of the TN-Vandy game. Vandy looked good.

We have raised ducks for several years. We have French Muscovy. They are a lower fat duck. they don't quack and they are the only duck that doesn't have Mallard in it's background. We make sausages, ground duck and roast one occasionally. my favorite part is the liver. It is the best liver in the world. I normally de-breast them and cut the remainder up for my dogs to eat. We also get several hundred eggs a year from them.

My wife and I have been going to an Episcopalian Church in Rockville, Maryland and I noticed a small sign outside this morning that might be of interest to a few on here who I know are into history,
It described how in late June of 1863, when he was supposed to be screening Lee's flank on the way to Pennsylvania and scouting Union troop movements, Jeb Stuart ordered troopers into the church we are attending to arrest some strong union loyalists who were hiding there. It also notes that most of the locals enthusiastically welcomed Stuart. It sounds a bit like a tiny episode that got blown out of proportion, but I googled it and apparently there was some kind of fracas at that church.
Those with an interest in such things know that Stuart did tarry way too long in Rockville, capturing Union army wagons and such, and left Lee in the dark on Yankee troop movements, a major failure.
Whatever happened it adds a bit to the experience to think of that church standing in the path of so much history. Another church right down the way we tried a couple years ago has the grave of F. Scott Fitzgerald in the back. Lots of history in this part of Maryland.

My Vice President at CSX in Baltimore had the corner office and it was shocking when you went in: a large 4x5' painting of Jeb Stuart on his horse with his troop behind him charging into battle.
He was so anti-union (1987-1992) that he got by with having that picture in the corner office on the 18th floor. He would not move to Maryland but lived in Virginia. His last name was Atkins and his family was from Atkins, SC. He was a Vandy Law grad.
What a man. Hell he even promoted me.

18° this morning with a wind chill factor of 3°. High in the upper 20's expected, similar to yesterday. Walked the monster yesterday and had to bundle up because of the wind. She was just having a good time out and wanted to go as long as we could. With no wind, it would not be so bad. But that wind cuts like a knife.
Rooting for the Bills to take out KC. Was glad to see them take out the Ravens. Watched both games yesterday and was indifferent about the Rams and Eagles. Will watch Ohio St. and Notre Dame tonight and root for the Dame. Old ladies are classics.

6 degrees here on Pine Mountain. I plowed my driveway and our county road last night before dark, but now have another inch or two. I guess I'll try to get it again before too many people drive on it. Brrrrrrrr.
I'm not too interested in the NFL anymore but did watch the Bills vs Ravens. Go Buffalo. I've always rooted for the AFC teams. Well, actually started back when they were still the AFL. I've noticed that I usually only root for the original teams from when I was a youngin back in the 60's.

Good morning folks. Working from home, far away from the inauguration events. Sorta wish I could be downtown. The procession carrying Trump will pass right by my offices, a couple blocks south.
The first inauguration that occurred after I got to Washington DC was Reagan's first in 1980. I got up before dawn that day, made may way into he city, and found a spot along Pennsylvania Averna where it makes a hard right turn to go past the Treasury Building, then a left to the White House. There was a huge tree there, then and now, and I parked myself in front of it with a 35 mm camera I had from a college journalism photography class.
(I was trying to break into newspaper work, and was determined to cover the inauguration like a reporter, even though the only job I could find then was as an editor at a trade association writing about legislation and government regulations affecting canned foods...)
All morning uniformed Secret Service guys walked by me, and a couple looked through my bag, but incredibly no one asked for any press credential or otherwise hassled me -- and I was just some kid of 23 hanging out with no real reason to be there. When Ron and Nancy passed by later that morning I got some beautiful photos. Reagan looked right at me with a big smile. So, where are they? Lost somewhere along the way. WIsh I still had them.
Of course, just a few months later, a kid about my age shot Reagan and others in DC. So, I doubt anyone has got to stand by that tree again without a much more thorough shake-down.
I was working about halfway between where Reagan was shot at the Washington Hilton and the George Washington Hospital and remember all the hullabaloo as ambulances and Secret Service cars and so on screamed passed my offices at the National Food Processors Association at 20th and M streets. A few days later, me and a buddy just walked up to the hospital at lunch time, and we happened to be there when Reagan came to the window and waved at a big crowd of people standing there. A lifetime ago...

This was the last time. They missed so many spots and places. Just showed up to say they did. I have a feeling this will go to court before it is all said and done. I have been an expert witness in court. I did have an arbitration hearing in my home but this will be a new experience. One I could do without but I am determined this must stop... We shall see.
A worker came, then the Superintendent, stating he was only doing a little more. I told them they are not trashing my house without coming prepared to do all we agreed. he left and I have heard nothing. I sure do need a good attorney but who..... Arbitration is nothing...
I recall reading that a long time ago when ESPN was getting started, they wanted to air all UK basketball games and the SEC would not approve it. Not 100% sure it is true, but did read it. If we had become ESPN's darlins...
Mr. Bernie, I remember when I was working on I-24 in Paducah in the early 70s, HBO was just getting started I think, but anyway, HBO wad showing college basketball games, I remember watching UK on it!!!
