D-League

Good morning folks. Still bitter cold in the east. Looks like we could get some snow.

Austin, I’m glad your wife may be home soon.

Heading out for a 4-mile run. I’ll be glad to get it behind me.

My office is close to the inauguration route in DC, and I’ve been watching the preparations unfold —streets blocked off, portable grandstands, etc. We’re working from home for the entire week because of it.

I have been to a few, worked some in my journalism days. I think I’ll be content to watch highlights of this one on TV, though it should be an exciting day.

You all have a good one.
Was in the DC area at Ft. Belvoir for Passport Agent training and testing during Trumps first inauguration. Traffic was heavy all week. Had a coworker with me who would not drive the rental car we had because she was too scared. I had to do all of the driving. Pretty hectic, but after driving around Europe many years I had plenty experience with heavy traffic. Bought this hat at Dulles before going home. Never been worn.

Yeah traffic is rough, mostly because no one wants to be second driving for some reason, not even one car length. Just too aggressive too many times. I drive aggressive as well but darn unless I have to be first I am good. If I have to be, normally I will be...

Oh, if you or any of you get this way again, hit me up. Will feed you at least and who knows... Would be my honor...

Just an enjoyable snack I call a meal...

Rice cake with a lima bean coating... My Darling soaked the lima beans until their skin came off, then took the skins off and created this masterpiece of a meal/ snack. Had it yesterday evening and just finished another piece... Yes I am thankful. Just a hint of sugar.

That coating is just Lima Beans, all steam cooked...with Rice Flour.... Just enjoyable...

Afternoon , D, not much going on today, just looking forward to the ballgame tomorrow. When I worked at Dyno, we had a problem with the powder we worked with sucking the moisture out of our hands causing cracks to develope. The company bought us some hand lotion named Stokolan which is some of the best lotion I have ever used for dry hands, after I retired I ordered some to keep on hand here at the house. I also have discovered that Chapstick is as good if not better than any lotion I have used, just rub in into the cracks on your fingers. Just a helpful hint I thought I would throw out there to the D on a slow day.

Man,

Going to sleep as late as I can remember. Papa's granddaughter here is in bed with Grandma. (She is 4.) Papa is sleeping in the most comfortable mattress in the house on the floor in our upstairs.

I finished my job work around 6. Did personal work for mine and My Darlings other interests until around 8:30, then surfed the internet after my youngest daughter then my son called. Ole Dad interjects in so many areas. About 10 or so I sat at my desk and did........nothing until now. Been a long while since I did that. I am thankful.....

IT'S GAME DAYEEYAYEEYAYEEYAY!

Wife and daughter want to go out to eat breakfast when they get up (IHOP, Jimmy's Eggs, etc...) They normally get up later in the morning on the weekends (daughter every day) and we generally get out between 1030-11:00 and eat lunch out. Now they want to eat a breakfast type meal instead of lunch. I told them go ahead, but as for me, I will eat breakfast earlier and lunch after the game. They have decided to eat at home today as they don't like going out without me. Better plan as I plan on taking down Christmas decorations after the game (yeah, they are still up).

Good morning everyone

Roads are finally clear around here and now just waiting for the next snow storm and cold. It brings back memories of the winters we use to get consistently........Wow, just had a big tree uproot straight across from the house. Freezing and thawing will do that. It sounded closer....no damage to anything.

Looking forward to the game. Need to win these at Rupp.

Have a great day.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 45°F and clear. Two cold fronts inbound. Today's high may reach 60°F. Great chances for snow/ice next Monday and Tuesday. Try hitting up grocery store later.

Tide vs Cats at Rupp. Game starts at noon ET. Go Big Blue!

Wishing y'all another great day.

Don't forget your milk and bread!!!!😂😂😂😂😂

Good morning all,

Rowsing now, sounds like My Darlings awake, listening to her phone and the south Korean conflict reporting. Korean news is as bad as The "American* news but that countries populous is also finding out the lying, non reporting and deceit too.

Getting my house ready to be trashed all next week by the builders Monday who are coming back to repair our ceiling drywall and wall issues again. Will only work here Monday, then Friday so a dirty trashed house all next week....

Go CATS....

I have never eaten duck.
Some of the wild ducks are very good. It depends mostly on what they eat. Puddle ducks eat mostly plants and are good. Diver ducks can feed on fish plus plants and they are iffy. One of the worst wild game animals I've eaten was a diver duck (Bufflehead). I raised Chocolate Labs for twenty years and absolutely loved duck hunting.

I'm not sure I've eaten a domestic duck either.

Well, duck this ...

Oh, a buddy of mine called me yesterday. I met him by hiring him when he worked in Colorado for my agency at the time. He got another job with the Army near me, we met and his wife, my wife and I became good friends. He is one of the Chief Cloud officer's for the space force now. He just told me after two months the scum chump, that he got the job at Fort Knox he wanted to be able to come home and be near his Dad. He named me as a former supervisor/ manager and I got the chance to talk with the hiring manager for his job for a good bit talking about Kentucky and Fort Knox. (He is tremendous at his work but a glowing recommendation works wonders as well.) It seems the hiring manager and I knew each other way back when, when I worked at Knox... I was kind of down because I thought he never got the job and I knew he wanted it but even after my glowing recommendation I thought I failed him for a couple months now. He's such a turkey.

Anyway he's going home a big shot. A serious Big Shot. (He deserves it.) Just a feel good story that helped me keep going yesterday. He is a Kentuckian born and bread so Kentucky is getting back one of it's own and a goodun. I will tell another story on him and his wife another time if I think of it... Just an unreal situation that doesn't happen to many people. I don't have the sense that God gave a goose... 😆

Go CATS!!!

I think it is over rated, just like deer.

Oh Sir, Sir, SIR...

Deer must be prepared properly but the jerky, Oh the deer jerky... An experience... Yeah Duck I can take or leave. Ate a good bunch of it over in Korea but I called it a cross between chicken and turkey but more bland. (Just me...)

Okay, I will tell the story of my Buddy, I mentioned above. I took his wife to have her baby. It worked out he was in a class in DC and couldn't get out of it. I took his wife at five or so in the morning to the hospital to have her baby. He came late that evening as she was having it. When I dropped her off She hugged me and kissed my cheek and thanked me. I looked at her and said; "I didn't do anything." I think I made her go into labor as she started belly laughing so hard.

She had a fine son. She is quite a bit younger than my friend as he was I think 55 or so at the time. It was not his first child but she had to go through some costly treatments and procedures to even have a child...

Always struck me funny as I tell people I took my Buddy's wife to have her baby... I have had many experiences in my life but that was a new one...

Tough loss. I always hate to play a top team coming off a loss so this isn't unexpected. Cats gave up too many easy buckets and offensive rebounds not to mention losing the 50/50 battle. This team is one of the best offensive teams in the country but their defense will lose some games. Still, hard fought and they never gave up.

It hurts me to watch a game like that. This is an older team and I am concerned as to if they can "impose" there will on other opponents or even learn that at this stage. If not at Rupp, not sure it can happen at all.

Just hoping Coach Pope can pull off some magic. Won't use any old terms but if a switch can be turned on defense-wise or an applicable result, who knows...

Yep, defense needs to be ramped up.

Would not want to become Daffy because of it.

I can only speak of my stateside antics while in the service, I cannot imagine the areas you and others served. My big deal was Grenada. (Nothing to compare.) I got wasted more than a few times to where I could remember eating but not what I ate which is why I stated what I stated. (As far as you know...)
