Wow MdW,Good morning folks.
Cats could use a big win today. Here's hoping. But Starkville is always a tough place to play, and this MSU team seems to be the exact type that Kentucky struggles with.
NFL playoffs start today. The college season is ending with a thud. If someone had asked me in late August to name the National Championship game that would make me sick to my stomach, I would absolutely have come up with Notre Dame versus Ohio State.
We got four inches of snow overnight, which I didn't expect. Headed out for my long run of the week but about halfway through I gave it up. I was running through snow laid over a sheet of ice and after my tenth near fall that was enough. At 69, with one hip surgery behind me, I'm not sure I need to be falling on my ass more than absolutely necessary.
You all have a good day.
I think I told you before I had some training while in the military, but I didn't take it seriously enough and never followed up on it afterwards. As a civilian, I had a buddy who trained on the full contact stuff. I put on the protective gear and let him do some of his kicks. He probably only weighed 150 pounds, but he kicked like a mule and could easily kick you in the face if he wanted. He went to a party with a motorcycle gang and they put on boxing gloves. He beat everyone who would fight him. I was about 170 pounds and wouldn't have wanted to fight him.Went to help test some students last night and wound up sparring with one of the adults going for his green belt with brown tip. He was a 31-year-old SSG in the army and we did not have enough adults to spar without me getting in the mix. He fought 9 people for 3 minutes each before we did 2 on 1, 3 on 1, 4 on 1, and 5 on 1. When he got up to 4 and 5 on 1 is when I joined in. Made sure he was tired so I could look good. along with other students we did have 5 other black belts to fight him before I got involved. Felt good getting in a sparring since I have not sparred much lately.
Took the monster out for a walk after my (light) workout this morning. She is just loving the snow and takes longer walks. Pictured below are her footprints in the snow with the front of one of my boots for scale.

Great game. 16-32 from 3. Outrebounded them 41-33.
Officials called a decent game. Neither team can complain. Foul shots were basically even. We were a little sloppy with our passing second half, but guys made big shots. Really fun team to watch.
Careful what you wish for in the SEC this year.Damn! This one rivaled the Florida game for best of the year so far. They could have folded but didn't. Excellent effort.
Tip for the Cats: Only play Top 20 teams from here on out.
I totally agree. It was officiated well.Great game. 16-32 from 3. Outrebounded them 41-33.

The Florida and Georgia games were fixes in my view. The quality and fairness of officiating in the SEC should not be determined by the names of the officials, but regrettably it swings on who the bastards are.
Did the D see the crazy stat that someone posted, it said that Coach Pope is the oldest coach that UK has ever hired! 52
It says Rupp 28, Hall 43, Sutton 49, Putin 32, Smith45, Gillispe 47, Cow 50 and Pope 52 when hired. Not laughing at you Sir. Always thought Rick Pitino started coaching Kentucky at 36 years old and that's just one I thought of...
In fairness, I did for the heck of it check Ole Google AI and they stated Mark Pope was the youngest... at 51 I think... I imagine that is where whoever got their information from...
Google AI is a pure miss-information session a lot of the time...
