While I was working at the atomic plant, a guy was hunting near there. It was raining and he was wearing a trash bag for hunting/rain gear. A teenage boy shot him through the heart with an arrow. They found numerous empty beer cans around the deceased body.

Feeling sad for the families of the terrorist attack in New Orleans. I guess the sick, lunatic adherents of that perverse religion are just going to be a plague that erupts every now and then forever. I made a number of Muslim friends during my many, many trips to that part of the world for two decades, but I also saw enough about the religion to know that even more than others it cause violent derangement. And yeah, I know it is "complicated" and I don't want to turn this into the political thread. Just expressing my sorrow for the mostly young lives lost for nothing.
Took a break from work yesterday to watch the last half of Texas, Arizona State, expecting a blow-out. What an entertaining finish. I started out rooting for the SEC, came around to pulling for ASU, but then was relieved when Texas held on.
Back to work. Hope it is a good day for all.

ATX, went to my sisters house yesterday for the traditional New Years day meal, she makes a dish she calls vegetable medley, it's got cabbage, potatoes, zucchini, bacon, squash and onions, also seasons it with Lowery's. One of the best dishes I have ever had. I sorta like black eyed peas, but I mixed them in with this dish and it was delicious!!! Just talked to her, that is the recipe, except she uses a bag of slaw mix, she fries it in a electric skillet. I'v made it myself before and used a head of cabbage, I like the short cut with a bag of slaw mix, you won't regret this one!
Disappointing NCAA football playoff season. 7 out of 8 games won by double digits. 2 Big Ten teams and Notre Dame in the final 4. OSU looking like the team to beat.

Not many Cards fans here, but just read the MLB pitcher with the lowest barrel rate and at least 100 innings pitched was Andre Pallantee at 3.2%. He was hot at the end of last season.

Pulled out the Glu Wein last night. Have 9 bottles left of the Nurnberger Markt. Supposed to get in the teens tomorrow night and for a few nights after. Will go to the Class VI sometime this upcoming week and get some more for the colder weather ahead.
