D-League

Good morning folks. Survived the Ghost Tour. It was a nice day with my daughter, ranging all through the Shenandoah Valley, seeing some beautiful scenery and enjoying the Halloween vibes.

And I certainly missed nothing skipping the football game. I’ve never been a Mark Stoops fan really. His record against the SEC is terrible, and getting worse. Please let this be his last year.

Looks like another lovely day here. Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

My Higginbotham family came from Amherst County area after the Revolution, close to the Shenandoah Valley. It is pretty country.

After the war the Patriots were given land in the West and parts of Georgia (near Augusta). The older children stayed in Virginia the middle children went to Georgia and the youngest to Kentucky. We were given land in the area West of Munfordsville, East of Bowling Green (Barren River) and south of the Green River to the North Carolina line. We came in groups to fight off the Shawnee Indians being paid by the Brits. Here is a tomb stone in Smiths Grove Cemetery (about 500 feet from my back door).

In Amherst the Henry's and Higginbotham's were neighbors. James Higginbotham witnessed and wrote Susannah and Patrick's fathers will.

It is a cold 38.7°F on our way to 75°F with little chance of rain.

The Kentucky Wildcats football team is not good. Stoops needs to step away or stay on as an assistant instead of the head coach. We have given him good opportunities and it time to change.

I have followed UK football for 68 years and Stoops has not been remarkably better than the others since the Bear.

You all enjoy your Sunday.

I saw Ray Stevens at his theater in Branson many years ago. He put on a good show. We had seats up pretty close and near a huge area where they sold souveneirs. Ray's brother in law was working the stand. They were very busy, so he may have put it in the cash register later, but he was putting all kinds of cash in his pocket. Ray announced he would sign autographs after the show. People were lined up all around the inside of the building. Most had 3 to 5 items they had bought at the autograph stand.

Morning Legionnaires! (could not post picture, site under repairs this morning)

54° this morning with a high of 87° expected.

Played Co-ed softball games yesterday and lost both. Not a good day at the plate for me either. Had better days.

At least the Bengals won so, "I got that going for me which is nice." Bill Murray Caddyshack.

All you that have to work today, be careful out there and stay safe.

God Bless the D-league and for this country's sake, God Bless America.

Good morning folks.

Back to work. But a short week for me. My wife and I are taking off two days at the end of the week. She wanted to see Niagara Falls, which she has never visited. I've been there, but figured what the hell. It should be a nice road trip through the fall colors in the Adirondack Mountains. I'll post a photo in case any of you fellows haven't seen and are curious. I actually like Cumberland Falls, but even as a Kentucky chauvinist will admit Niagara has it beat.

Hope you all have a great day.

Want to take My Darling as well MdW. Fall seems like a good sense trip. I will try doing that too. Thanks

It has been a long time ago, but the ex in-laws used to be in Detroit. We went with them. Caught a train in Windsor and got rooms on the Canadian side. The train ride was very good. At the time there was a restaurant with a great view of the falls. We had breakfast there one day with the mist of the falls landing on us. We bought some kind of package deal that gave you all the sites. The Maid of the Mist ride was by far the best.

Morning Legionnaires!

Heading out in about an hour or so in search of the recently elusive Large Mouth. No, I am not talking about the Kackling Kamala ("Hahahahahaha you know what I mean" queen).

61° this morning with the high around 90° and sunny expected so the weather will be nice for most of the morning.

@AustinTXCat keep on fighting and prayer sent this morning. Good luck and God Bless.
