Wishing y'all a great start to your week.

Yes, on Hwy 421 just outside of Harlan heading up Pine Mountain. I live down the mountain on Hwy 119 to the east (towards Whitesburg) on the northern side of the mountain.

Good morning folks.

Working from home today so being a little lazy
getting started. The football didn’t go my way yesterday. I wanted any outcome besides a Chiefs -49ers rematch of three years ago, but there we are.

At least my two daughters are happy. The older one lives in KC now and has got caught up in the local excitement with her whole extended family on her husband’s side. And the younger one just watches to see Taylor Swift and tap into that soap opera. If I believed in conspiracy theories I’d see this all as a big ratings grab to get non-football watchers to care about more than the commercials during the Super Bowl.

Ah well, my two year old grandson Charlie is happy too —he got a chiefs’ #10 jersey with his name on it for Christmas and was beaming last night.

I hope the Cats can rediscover their scoring mojo this week. A chance for two home wins that would be a major boost.

Have a good day.

Dayquil works wonders.... Keeps me from slobbering all over. Sticking to my office though so as not to infect too many. I actually feel decent. yesterday was not a good day. Hadn't had one of "those" in a real long while. I am thankful!
An apple a day keeps the ....... I am finishing one off as I type... Normally what I have every work day. Started that back while I was in Korea. A hard habit to break, not that I want to...

Good looking boy MdW.... I love kids. (Always wanted to be one. ;) Don't remember ever being one though I still try.) 😉

Good morning from Orlando International Airport. Currently 71°F and cloudy. Depart in 2.5 hours for ATX.

Watched game last night. Cats put it away there at the end. Glad Reeves, Mitchell and Sheppard play for BBN. Good seeing Thero back.

Still dealing with COVID. Bah. Gonna rent a nearby room upon arrival in north Austin.

Wishing y'all a peaceful Sunday.

Exactly what we had Sunday.

Haven't posted my supper in a while...

This one is history as of this afternoon... (Actually never finished it. Saved some for tomorrow.)

Yes I am thankful, wish I could share.... A T-Bone and a Ribeye..... as Uncle Jed used to say.... edible...

Good morning folks.

Heading out for a walk, and then the subway into DC for work.

Cold and cloudy in the east.

Grinding out a work week ahead of a brief getaway to Bethany, Delaware. My wife wants to run in a 10k there, and I may trot along for 5ks, if my hip allows. At 61, she still dreams of running one more marathon, which would be her fifth. I dream of getting through three miles at a pace slightly faster than Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster.

Not much else going on this week. Hope it’s a good day for all y’all.

Very nice BBUK. I got to meet Barkley and talk with him a few times. My buddy who died last year in Texas got to be friends with him through his ex-wife, who was a on-air sportscaster in LA. Barkley was Godfather to their daughter. He’s as funny and genuine as he comes off on TV. I’m 6’5” or just under and was surprised that he wasn’t much taller than me, but certainly a lot thicker. It is amazing he was able to dominate inside the paint in the NBA at that height. All about creating space and owning it, I guess.

If there was an olympic event for who could get the most weight the highest off the ground (weight times height), Barkley would hold the all-time record. Never seen anything like him before or since.

Good morning from In-Town Suites in North Austin. Currently 47°F. and cloudy. Expect 71°F for our high.

Moved locations yesterday. PaxLovid regimen complete. Feeling better. Must take another COVID-19 test later today.

Another great day to be alive. Wishing y'all a good one.

Hope the lamp shades were acceptable. Jan and I make most of the shades for InnTown, so you probably stayed in a room where we made the shades.

Good morning D-league.

Cold in the east. A light snow blew in while I was walking earlier. I don’t reckon it’ll amount to anything.

Big game for the Cats tonight. They are all big now. I hope they recapture their offensive mojo.

Chugging along on the subway. Not much else going on yet. Have a good day, folks

Morning Legionnaires!

40° this morning with a high in the low 70's expected today. May go out this afternoon and try my hand at some fishing. Salivating at the thought.

Bought a new riding lawn mower yesterday from Lowes. John Deer S140 22HP 48" cut. Needed a new one but wanted to wait until season was over when prices were better. $3220.00 with 3 years extended warranty added. Never had a John Deer so... my old Husqvarna lasted 10 years (still runs/has problems though) and it was nice, but I needed to try something new.

To echo an earlier post or two, Cats play tonight and just like most others I too would like to see the offense pick it back up, but I wonder if the lesser points scored in the last 2 games is due to working more on defense than before...thoughts?

Get over the hump today folks, be careful out there, and God Bless.

That is a damn shame.

If my son came home and told me, 'Dad, I was arrested with weed and a gun in Indiana,' I'd tell him, 'Son, that is a major disappointment. I thought I raised you better than to set foot in Indiana."
I don't feel that way about Indiana. I think it's one of the best run states. Plus GD goes to college in the state.

It was sort of a joke, aimed at the Hoosier basketball program more than anything else.

I can't say I ever spent much time in Indiana, but by an odd chance my father had a job there back in the mid-1950s, and had taken my pregnant mother along, so I was born in Muncie Indiana - Ball Memorial Hospital, paid for by the family that owned the jar company. I have not been there since I was a few weeks old, and doubt I ever get back now.

I have a customer/friend from Huntington Indiana who I've known for forty years. He is one of the last "jobbers" in my business. Calls on mom and pop furniture stores across 4 states. He loves basketball. Has a lighted outdoor full court behind his shop. In his early 70's and still plays. Took a team to Las Vegas to play in a tournie a few years ago. Nice guy.

Had to do it.

Aunt & uncle lived nearby there in Anderson when I was growing up. Visited many times & stayed several weeks over one summer. Enjoyed. Lawrenceburg almost in sight.

Take the mowing deck off of the old Husqvarna and use it like a powered wheel chair?
