D-League

Good morning all,

My daughter just came home from work as my wife called her. The BB is sick. Never saw him like he is, the wife and daughter took him to a child's urgent care. He's been sick a couple days but a lot different sick now. Say a prayer for him if you've a mind.....

Good morning D-League. Cold and clear in the east. 30f as I left the house this morning.

A bit of news to share: My older daughter officially was awarded her PhD in political communications yesterday. Dr. Emily. She is a professor at Kansas University of all places, and a consultant to women running for office in state and city elections. I hope this helps her get a job at one of the universities around DC…

Heading for Kentucky Friday morning. My mother is not well. It’s a tough time, especially for my 92-year old father who wants to care for her but can barely walk from arthritic hips and knees.

Have a good day folks.
Congratulations for your daughter's accomplishment and sorry to hear about your folks......getting old isn't as fun as I thought it would be 60 yrs ago!

Thanks all,

Hopefully it is something he ate. He did vomit a time or two early and this afternoon. He seems to be feeling a bit better now per my daughter. Thanks again.....

I never saw him like he was today. I've been around that boy almost daily since he was born.

Like my children have never understood and I know reading about your families as well. I know my children and my two grandchildren close to me better than they know themselves... I guess my children will understand that some day...

I got my carpets all cleaned today and did a lot of work while worrying while he was away.

Good morning folks.

Back to work after the quick visit to Kentucky.

Nine hour drive yesterday and it rained hard every foot of the 525 miles. The fog in the mountains was so thick it was hard to see the cars in front. Made for a fatiguing drive. And just in the last couple years I’ve noticed my 68-year-old eyes don’t see as well in the dark. But we got through it.

Hope the week before Christmas is starting off well for everyone.

Yes, that drive is crazy. We went to Radcliff a few weeks ago and I guess made the trek across those same mountains. We were at the foot and it started raining. I was watching the temperature change and it soon started snowing.

As we ascended it started sticking and snowing harder. No salt trucks to be seen.. I pulled back my days of taking drivers training in Michigan withe the tires never touching the pavement. We made it but I was "white-knuckling" without trying to drive that way. We came down that mountain with the roads covered. I haven't been that nervous in a long while. I had My Darling and the BB with me. He was having a blast.... My Darling took pictures but I cannot post them now... Needless to state, I was extremely thankful... That's a rough ole road in good weather... I"ve driven much worse in eastern Kentucky but not lately... ;)

Good morning from ATX. Currently 41°F and cloudy. Rain chances increasing by Thursday. We sure need some. Today's high may reach 65°F.

Radiation treatment went well yesterday. Back for more today.

Close friend over in Germany, meine Ersatzmutti, passed away peacefully at 85 yesterday. She survived Berlin bombings and Russian occupation. She went on to marry, have 3 children and successfully run a Gasthaus for many years. RIP Edith.

Good morning D-League. I’m glad to hear the treatment went well Austin.

Dark and cold this morning, like something out of a Dickens story set in Victorian England. On the subway heading into the office. Short week. On Thursday they take a laser to my prostate and carve off part of it. We’ll see what that amounts to.

Hope everyone has a good day.

This is a public service announcement...

Good news on the radiation. Good luck for today.

Good morning folks.

Austin, sorry for what you are enduring, and I'll be praying the treatment works.

We got the bad news on my mother's diagnosis we were expecting yesterday: Pancreatic cancer. Limited treatment options at her age. I'm not going to post about it every single day, but as I brought it up before, I'll finish the thought. I'll be going there as often as I can, for as long as she has.

I'll catch up with you all later.

Add another side-effect to radiation treatment: nausea. Bah. At least cast-iron stomach held.

Cats vs Cards at 6 ET from Yum Center. Be there. Aloha.

Wishing all a winning day. Go Cats!

Good morning D-League.

It’s “beat Louisville” day. Cats can’t afford to sleep walk through this one like they did after beating Miami. But with Wagner back, and Bradshaw in rhythm, I’m not too concerned.

I have my surgery to trim my prostate with a laser today. We’ll see how that goes.

My mom got home from the hospital last night. Her spirits were up when we talked. Thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes.

Have a great day, and Go Cats.

Good morning everyone

I have to go to my dermatologist again today. Most likely she'll fire me up with that silver gun....liquid nitrogen. She usually hits 15-20 spots. But, not too bad....pain for a little while and pretty much back to normal. Mom had a skin cancer surgery last week around her eye. She looks bad. I feel for her since she hasn't had to deal with this a ton. I've had 100's of surgeries the last 32 years

Anyway on to more important things. It's going to be close about getting back in time to watch the game. May have to listen to the first part. A little nervous about this one, but hope the last loss is still on our (players) mind.

I hope everyone has a great day and this game puts us in a good mood over the holidays.

Good luck on the prostate procedure.

I had 72 seeds laced with iodine 125 inserted in October 2016. Not bad except it killed my prostate. Poor cancer.

Good morning all...

Cats played well... Should get even better once the "newbies" get better acclimated in game situations... Go CATS!!!

Working from home today and off early. Plan to have a house full about 4 to 4:30. (My Darling said 8 couples...)... Much to do in the interim BUT, I'm lurking, I'm always lurking...

(That just sounds bad...)

Have a day worth living..
