Good morning folks. Standing in line at an urgent care clinic to get a pre-surgical screening. Need this to clear the path so they can take a laser scalpel to my prostate next week. Always something, right?

After this, back to work. I need to get a lot done ahead of my Kentucky trip tomorrow.

I hope it’s an easy day for all you folks.

Good morning folks. Rolling out of the DC suburbs and bound for Kentucky. Weather looks clear along the route. I’ve been doing this drive for 45 years and I’ve hit some treacherous snowstorms in the mountains of western Maryland and Erst Virginia. But should have it easy today.

I’ll check in later if I can. Have a good day.

Morning Legionnaires!

48° with rain coming down. Highs in the mid 50's expected with clearing skies later this morning.

Going to the Blvd of Lights in Chickasha Oklahoma later this evening. They put on a pretty good display each year.

On some sad news, my wife's company (military contractor at Sill) is downsizing and let 24 people go at the first of the month and will let 12 more go at the end of the month. Many of them from her section and she is having a hard time dealing with it because she is the supervisor, and they are all coming to her asking for her to intercede to help keep them on. She has no control on that but is getting a lot of the flak from them over it. One of the workers let go at the first of the month came back to her office yesterday asking for help on his resume and asking if he could use her for a reference looking for his next job. She said she would and while they were talking, he was tearing up because he also told her that his wife just told him that day that she was leaving him and moving back in with her mother. They also have three kids (don't know if she is taking them with) and being so close to Christmas that is a lot of stress, and he said his wife told him that she is not strong enough to support him during this time. (probably more to it but...bad timing nonetheless).

Well, enough of that, TGIF for all of you grinders and God Bless;

Oh yeah, safe travels @MdWIldcat55. Be careful out there.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 44°F and clear. Expecting a high of 62°F.

Go Cats! Game on CBS at 5:30 pm EST.

Yesterday's find. Interesting story coming. Note the two Komperdell Treking poles. I ordered two such poles on 12/11. Expected arrival today. My other trusty stick broke. Plan on selling Caddy bag for a few dollars. Retail value = $139

Life is good.

Wishing y'all a winning Saturday.

Good morning everyone.

Hunting season is finally over for me. My wife got a decent deer and we now have plenty of meat in the freezer. I watched (not sure I would call it hunting) she got one and passed on several. During the 3 day bear season I never saw a bear or deer while in my stand. I did see the sow with 3 cubs on my front porch one night in the middle of the season. First time since early Nov. that we've seen them. Glad they're still doing OK even if they did break into our screened in patio twice in Oct.

Game Day...I'm sure some of you have a dislike for the Tar Heels. I despised Dean Smith and his 4 corner offense when I was young. This game will mean a lot for us.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hello from the rural end of Campbell County. Easy drive yesterday. My mother is in relatively good spirits but clearly weakened and her skin has a definite yellow tinge from the jaundice that comes from her compromised pancreas. It’s not clear to me that either she or dad has fully grasped the situation but I can see how staying as upbeat as possible is good for them.

Thanks again and continually for all the prayers and good wishes.

Quite a sports Saturday. Absolutely crucial games for Cats and Bengals. Man, two wins would help lift the gloom for my extended family a bit, especially dad.

Have a good day folks.

Here's to hoping for 4 wins. Most importantly, the health issues.

Good morning all for a few more minutes.... Lots to do today GO CATS!!!! Git it figured out Cal.... for once...

Made a pan of biscuits. Haven't had coffee for a few days. Am eating biscuits now.. Me and the BB are alone today. My Darling is leaving for her Christmas choir stuff, they are performing today several times. The BB has had a fever so we will rough it at home...

Papa's got to cook. (Papa can but not much for the BB as Ama normally does the cooking for him, but I can and will...) Lego's in our future today along with installing some curtain rods in the upper bedrooms.. We have friends coming to visit this Friday and are having a bunch over to eat. A couple couples will spend the night. I have blinds but it will not be nearly dark enough without the curtains...

Go Cats!!!

My daughter and son in law make a similar trip (Shepardsville, KY to west of Baltimore, Maryland) several times a year. Three years ago they wiped out in the snow and totaled their car.

I was promoted to a Marketing job in Baltimore in 1987.

On my trip bringing the cars from Houston, TX to Baltimore, MD in late January 1987 we got caught in a "blizzard" just west of the Maryland line. We actually made it to the Maryland line and the roads were clear. West Virginia does not like to clear roads and Maryland did a fine job.

I moved from hot weather in Houston to a snowy winter in Maryland. In the February and March we got 59" of snow out where I lived (Eldersburg). Once I had to dig my garage door out so I could open it. I had a long drive and I spent more money on snow removal that winter than my raise accounted for! My VP always liked me bitching about that.

Safe travels.

Great game last night. We were in "control" most of the game. We didn't outplay NC really, but just out toughed them and found a way to win. Glad Ugo got in and played. He can really change us defensively.

I don't like the tar heels. :D But they are a good team this year. We seemed to rattle Bacot, but I sure don't want to play Davis again.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 39°F, partly cloudy and breezy. Today's high expected around 70°F or so.

- Ecstatic about Cats W over wicked Tarheels. So enjoyable.

- Sold Caddy bag found at car wash on Facebook Marketplace yesterday for$15. Listed at roughly 11 am. Gone by 5 pm during game. Tons of hits and messages. Love quick flips.

- Watched "The World is Not Enough" last night after game. First time viewing. I dunno, Pierce Brosnan as Bond requires some acclimation. May check out "Die Another Day" after Cowboys game.

Great day to be alive. Wishing y'all an awesome Sunday.

Good morning D-League.

Had a nice visit with my family and now getting on the road for a long drive back to Maryland.

My mother seemed to rally yesterday. Looked and sounded better than I expected. Still a long scary road ahead but it was good to see.

The Cats winning especially and the Bengals lifted spirits a bit. My exhausted father seemed to get interested in the wins which was a welcome distraction.

Thanks again for the prayers and good wishes recently. This is a special bunch of men in here.

You’re one dedicated son, MD. Admirable to say the least.
