Dad wasn't on her yet, but this is his WW2 ship, the USS PA, in drydock during the attack. PA was BB38. AZ is BB39. Battleship Row is 2-3 miles behind. See the smoke.

Here's another short video about Joe George who threw the line to the last survivors on the Arizona. My cousin is shown as a sailor (the 2nd one shown that crossed the line) and again at the ceremony later in life. He's the one all the way to the right in a wheelchair. He met President Trump that day.

Tears in my eyes.

KY side north of the dam. Had a great time.

We used to fish just above the dam on Kentucky Lake with our DAD, we would either park at the turn around or the beach, then we would walk about half way down between the beach and turn around and start fishing back to the truck. We used minners, sometimes we would fill a stringer full of catfish and bluegill! Those we the good ole days!

Good morning from ATX. Currently 65°F and cloudy. Today's high may possibly reach 75°F. Should see cooler temps tomorrow..

Took another CT scan yesterday. Looking at 5 intense radiation sessions over next two weeks. Still waiting on firm dates for radiation.

Watched Casino Royale (2006) last night. Awesome action scenes. Previously viewed Skyfall and Quantum of Solace over past week. Meh, still enjoy Sean Connery as James Bond best.

Happy Friday, y'all.

He was my favorite Bond also!

Good morning folks.

I'm enjoying the tales of Navy service back to Pearl Harbor. I get off the DC subway many days at the site of the US Navy Memorial. It's one of the underappreciated Washington sites, but worth a visit when next in DC -- it is directly across the street from the National Archives and down the block from some of the Smithsonian sites so not out of the way.

I was walking by yesterday as they were doing a ceremony honoring those lost at Pearl Harbor.

Here's a site with links to lots of Navy stuff at the Memorial. It's randomly arranged but there is some good stuff to be found there.

Hey D-L...I haven't roamed around in here in a while. I pray/hope everyone is doing well. I'm looking forward to watching the Army/Navy game tomorrow...must see TV IMO. I didn't serve in the military but my dad was Army so that's where I typically lean. Regardless, thanks to all that served and God Bless America!

The Navy is more simple-minded... they dawn blue camouflage uniforms. That way if they fall in the water, no one can find them.....

Man, My Darling and I ate a late dinner. Arrived just in time to not call it supper at our local buffet.

I ate my fill of flounder, shrimps, salmon, and garnish.... topped it off with carrot cake and Boston crème pie... Washed it all down with Pepsi...

Now I am backing up my computer info. (Finally) (A new backup, then I will delete the old backups once I check it.)

Kind of down to two computers but darn I am frugal.... I will get it figured out in a day or two, or three...

Have a peaceful evening. Thought I might down a Yuengling or two but I am stuffed...

I always watch. One of my brothers served in the Navy on the Nimitz. We generally text and harass each other during this day.

Good morning folks.

Should be an interesting game for the Cats today. Penn is a better than average Ivy team that has already beaten Villanova when that team was ranked about where Kentucky is now. Will it be a bounce-back for the Cats, or are we going to be dealing with the prospect that this Kentucky team is not what we saw briefly against Miami.

Decorating the Christmas tree, which I must say was more fun when we had kids around to generate excitement. But I do enjoy having a glowing tree in teh house during teh season.

Hope it is a good day for all of us.

Put up the tree with decorations and decorate the house every Thanksgiving weekend. Since the wife takes Friday and Monday off during that time, it gives her more time to take her time and still have a couple of days to rest. I get the heavy stuff out of the attic, do the heavy lifting, and move things where she wants it and then, her and my daughter unpackage the decorations to hang them. Once decorated it falls again to me to put unused decorations back in the attic.

I think the toilet seat in our primary bathroom is perfectly fine. DW is dissatisfied.

What do you think the safest course of action is?

We would fish below the river dams and fill our jons

Good morning from ATX. Currently 46°F and partly cloudy. Cold front blew in overnight. Today's high may hit 59°F. Chilly out. Stocking cap time for this morning's upcoming hike.

Yeah, happy our Cats won up in Philly. Heckuva game for Bradshaw, Dillingham.

Found $2 in bills while out walking yesterday morning. Every little bit helps...

Watched "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" after game yesterday. Previously, I'd only seen the ending. I was impressed even though George Lazenby was not highly regarded back then. British critics ripped into him because he was an Australian model rather than a Brit actor.

Wishing y'all a cheerful, peaceful Sunday.

Good morning folks. Nice win for the Cats yesterday. Penn is not a great team but its a good team, capable of beating a ranked team like Villanova, and playing on their home court. The Cats are still a work in progress. Edwards needs to find himself, DIllingham has had some great games but needs to be more consistent. Mitchell has to adjust to BRadshaw being back. And so on. I really hope it can all come together in practice this week and UK can put a beating on UNC-CHEATS.

And yeah, it is now or never for the Bengals.

Rainy here -- I went out on a log jog and came back waterlogged. Hope it is a good day for all of you.
