D-League

Hey D-League: Christmas came early, (and a couple years late, as I posted this in 2020) Kansas forfeits wins AND a Final Four banner in cheating scandal!

WE'RE # 1! WE'RE # 1! WE'RE # 1! WE'RE # 1!

Better get that in now before the season starts unless Calipari can right the ship.

Good morning folks. Sun coming up on another cool, clear day in the east. Heading downtown on the subway for the last in-the-office day this week.

Fun baseball last night. Three series are settled. Phils can take out the Braves tonight, which would be my preference. An all-Texas AL championship series should be fun. Another 100-win Dodger team collapses without a fight.

Glad Kentucky is back in its rightful place as winningest program of all time —by percentage and numbers. Don’t care how it happened. Kansas has been a dirty program for decades and Self is a sleazy little bum. I can’t stand women battering and he’s recruited no fewer than five. That’s not a coincidence.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 72°F and cloudy. Clearing later for a high of 90°F before cold front moves in.

- My ex passed away three days ago evening of 10/10. I've intentionally kept her passing quiet out of respect. She was 59 and may have died in the same hospital where she was born. Can't attend the funeral because my passport is not yet ready. She spoke little English. Her courage confronting cancer has been admirable. We're really gonna miss her.

- Meeting up with former design center colleagues at 5:30 pm today for beers. Look forward to it.

- Solar eclipse in our area tomorrow.

- Happy Friday, y'all.

Heartfelt condolences brother ATXC.... God's comfort to you and yours...

Good morning folks. Heading for the doctor's office in a bit for a routine check-up. I expect things will be found to be fine.

Big Blue Madness tonight. It's not what it used to be in teh days before social media and summer practices and exhibitions. Once it was literally the first chance to get a glimpse of a new team. But it still signals the start of things. Hoping for a special year. I think the chances are good.

Watched the playoff game last night. I was rooting for the Phillies for no particular reason except somehow back in the 1980s that whole Ted Turner national broadcasting of the Braves as "America's Team" slowly but surely managed to rub me the wrong way, and I have rooted against them ever since. I started seeing ridiculous comparisons between their line-up this year and the Big Red Machine of the 1970s, and that was another good reason. The next round should be good baseball, especially the American League series between Houston and Texas.

Getting in a little work before the doctor visit. Have a good day folks.

Good morning folks. Just back from my Saturday morning six mile walk. Got caught in a little rain squall but all's well. Very much fall weather here - gray and cool. It could be thanksgiving from the feel of it.

Didn't learn a lot from Midnight Madness. Looking forward to the Blue-White game next week. I wish I could be home visiting my parents. The game site on NKU's campus is about 20 minutes from where they live.

Big football game today. Feels like a season pivot. Beat Missouri and it can still be a special year. Lose, and the wins start to feel pretty hard to come by, especially with Louisville looking tough.

Hope you all are having a good Saturday.

Good morning everyone. I slept good too BBUK.

It was good to see Big Z and hear Cal saying he will play in the B-W scrimmage. Not much of a slam dunk contest, but shooting hopes to be good. The Mizz game tonight should show us what direction the football team will head the rest of the way.

Fall is definitely here and I'll be busy hunting ( and fishing a little)...and football and basketball. Throw in hiking, a couple of day trips, doc visits etc and it may slow down a bit after Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Most may know (Not that it matters if you know or not.) I am a Michigander by birth, a Michigander by heart due to I was born in Monroe Michigan a little over 62 years ago. My Brother and Sister were born in Michigan and still live there. I am the youngest.

I stated that to state this; I used to be a U of M fan and do not discredit my fandom as I loved the wars between Michigan and Ohio State football when Bo and Woody fought it out nearly annually for a long, long time. (That was a long, long time ago.)

I am true Blue UK... I earned that over a long period of time after an initial love fest back when UK hired Pitino. Since that time, I have spent time, a lot of time instilling that into my children AND Grandchildren...

I hope Michigan STOMPS a mudhole in Indiana today and then STOMPS it dry.

Michigan is leading 21 to 7 at the half. I hope that is doubled and re-doubled before today is over.

And I love everybody... -Jerry Clower

GO CATS!!!!

I post this not at all bragging but as a thankful recipient of My Darlings love and joy of cooking...

Kings on special occasions wish they could eat, like I eat regularly....

This is my supper today... (well, part of it anyway...)

Thank you My Darling...

We bought a house with acreage a couple of months ago to retire at. So far we just visit on weekends as we slowly move in. This trip we brought Augie the eighty pound boxer. It is a quiet place with no close neighbours. Well, a twenty pound Pug showed up a few hours ago. Jan walked down to the nearest neighbour and found out he belongs to the former owners of our house. They live about a mile away now and are out of town. Jan took Augie outside to play with the Pug. The Pug kept trying to mount Augie and he doesn't like it. He told the Pug several times in dog language to stop, without success. Finally he put him on his back and told him emphatically no more. She then brought Augie in the house. Now it looks like we have a dog outside our front door whining.

May UK as a TEAM wake up from the funk and make a statement today. I will love seeing it..

I want to see LOTS of rocket's fireworks and a general circus atmosphere in this thread.

I want wc to get a serious cramp in his fingers from posting rocket and artillery fire and brother Sir Rooster get himself dizzy from the spin of the flairs!!!

GO CATS!!!

(Ain't GOT no alcohol neither....)

I'm a little nervous about this game. The defense has to make stops, something they failed to do last week. Missouri has a hell of a passing game and one of the best QB in the SEC if not the country. IMO it comes down to the defensive secondary tonight. Step it up guys.
