D-League

Leary 4-12 for 36 yards...yes there has been a drop or two...but he almost threw a pick six and other throws were wildly off. I couldn't even tell who he was throwing to once or twice.

I would make Florida show me they can stop Davis and the run game...if I passed it would be something easy like a screen pass or something.

Cats need a nice time consuming drive out of the half. Just get points, doesn't matter if it is 3 or 7. What we don't want is a 3 and out and they score quickly.

Just got back from testing seven students. Two to black belt, one to green, and the rest white to yellow. Part of the testing requires fighting/sparring (full controlled contact) and I fought the two (adults) going for black and the green belt since he was an older teen and the only other people he had to fight were the brown to blacks and a 6' 3 15-year-old going white to yellow. Our instructor requires that intermediates to advance fight as many people as there are there in their size range. While I took it easy on them in the power department, I did tag them quite a lot to let them know they were open. I did however take two shots to the mug and one elbow to the outside of my right shoulder which is sore now. The green belt started throwing elbows, so I had to step in to stop him and got caught by one.

Bruce Willis came to Mayfield when they made the movie In Country. The lady that wrote it was from Mayfield. A crowd was hanging around Bruce's trailer so he came out to say hi and bought everyone an.ice cream.

A funny story. I had a customer from Florida who didn't know they were making a movie in town. There was a restaurant in town back then that had a giant chicken on the roof. They wanted to use his restaurant to film some scenes, but he said no, so they built a replica down town. My customer was hungry so he went in the fake restaurant. A few of the crew were sitting at a table drinking coffee, so he thought they were customers. He sat there a long time waiting on a waitress before finding out the truth.

While I agree fan support is great, announced seating can be deceiving. There has often been a difference in announced sales and butts in the seats this year. A lot about that has been discussed on Card boards. Apparently there are a lot of season tickets sold to businesses and especially this year, they are not always used. In years past, one of my suppliers used to give me box seat tickets a couple of times a year. Also they are saying the team does last minute sales of four or five thousand tickets to places like stubhub at what I guess are very cheap prices and all of those may not be resold. That seems to be the consensus on the board I read.
Stands were quite full to me.

I didn't see that particular game, but have seen thirty or forty on TV this year that were as I described. They are making a big deal out of Wainwright retiring, so maybe that is it. He is going to put on a concert for the fans after on of the Reds games, not sure which one. He has his own band and is a really good singer for a baseball player

Good morning folks. Still psyched over a terrific Kentucky win. I was really struck by how clean they played. How many penalties? I can’t remember many. Leary will have to be much better and the receivers will have to catch the ball to beat Georgia, but for now, great win. Who thought five years ago beating Florida was about to become routine?

Heading out for a hike. Hope the Bengals can keep some momentum going. Reds finally eliminated. Get ‘em next year.

Have a great day.

Cats up to #20 in AP and Coaches poll. Brutal final 7 games, 5 are against ranked opponents (Georgia-1, Bama-11, Mizzou-21, UT-22 and Louisville-25). The other 2 games are on the road against South Carolina and Mississippi State. We'll see. If ever there was a time to pull off some upsets it's this year.

Hello all,

Didn't turn out as planned for my fishing trip but things worked out okay. I will post some pics tomorrow. Not flashy but we had a good time. Only been back a couple hours but feel good. Gonna hit the hay early though I am off work tomorrow. My you have a blessed, restful sleep....

Good morning D-League.

Baseball Playoff Eve. Less than two weeks to Midnight madness. Kentucky ranked in. the Top 20. Great time of the year for sports.

Long day, but short week for me. Taking off Thursday and Friday for a trip to a cabin on the Atlantic in Delaware, something my wife and I have started doing since the kids left home. We used to do nine days in the middle of the summer at Rehoboth Beach. At some point we realized that without the kids we didn't need or even enjoy the massed crowds and broiling sun. But the ocean is lovely in October, and the restaurants and shops are still open.

Diving into work. I hope it is a good day for all.

Good morning all, (At least for a couple more minutes.)

Some pics from my trip. (Got that (Estimated by the guy that hauled it up with his net.) 35 pound stingray up with a 50 pound test line and regular hook. Some serious fun....) One person caught a sea turtle but that was of course released. My Darling cut up that stingray quick fast and in a hurry. (After we cut the tail off...) Caught several ribbon fish but that was a serious disappointment. They were just not biting BUT we found a place in Virginia we are going to try. Also a couple smaller Spanish Mackerel but within limits. (A disappointment there as well..) I guess the hurricane caused some issues but it was some nice weather.

Caught off the 2nd Avenue Pier in Myrtle Beach, SC.....

Note above, if you look to the left of his eyes you will see a hook. (I attached a picture below of that hook (On the Left.), and a picture of the type of hook that caught him (Hook on the right.).) (I guess someone else tried previously and failed...)

It is said stingray tastes a lot like scallops... I plan to find out.

Have a great day. I am working around the house, been at work too but was supposed to be off... you know how that goes...

Have a blessed day...

Good morning folks.

On the subway, heading into the midpoint of my short week.

Looking forward to the Delaware beach town where we visit.

Baseball playoffs commence. No strong rooting interest. I guess I’ll pull against Atlanta since they are the heavy favorite. They win this year and next year they’d be a real threat to the Reds’ century-old distinction as only NL team to win it back-to-back.

Just starting to get light in the east. Another cool day. Have a good one.
