D-League

I totally agree with the pay. Stoops has earned it. Football is much more important to a university in $$$$. I am not downplaying Men's basketball but now that college sports are now a big business the football program has to eat first at the table.

I think Stoops will be here when the morning comes and beyond. But if for some reason he is not UK will not have a problem finding an outstanding and successful coach to replace him. UK is a quality job now and many coaches would love to work with Mitch Barnhart. He stuck with Stoops when many of the fan base wanted to ship him back to FSU. And it paid off.

Other coaches see that. Add that to the fan base enthusiasm and SEC money and UK can find a great coach out there. But enough of this, Coach Stoops is not going anywhere. Why should he? We are stepping up to the next level now and Stoops built this thing from ground up.

I agree he has earned his money, but I don't want to throw it at him mid-season. Let's keep everyone hungry until dinner.

Yeah, it's a nice contract and I didn't realize they had just negotiated it last year.

One reason I don't think he'll leave here anytime soon is, this is HIS program. It was basically nothing when he got here and he started from the ground up.

Another big reason is job security. If he left here, I would think it would be for one of the big four in the SEC. Bama, LSU, Georgia, or Florida. How much time would any of those schools give a new coach if things didn't go as planned?

Good morning! I did not sleep like a baby last night. Nope, I slept like a lifelong UK football fan!

I'll be going to see a good friend in the morning to talk about the game and he'll undoubtedly bring up the "Stoops will get taken away if he wins" mantra. I'll tell him again that if UK starts winning big in the SEC, then there is nowhere else to go.

I want Stoops to get paid Calipari money. His product brings more money to the school than JC's does.

If you have time today, go over to KSR and listen to Stoops and Marrow call in to the Jones postgame show last night. Both heaped praise on the BBN and Marrow said the reason he didn't leave was because of the fan support.

They built it. Here we come!
I normally avoid KSR and Jones. However, exceptions are possible.

I try to listen to the Jones Show when it's necessary. Tomorrow will be one of those days. Postgame last night was one of those days.

How do you feel this morning? I didn't drink a drop yesterday until the postgame show when I popped a top on a Bud Light tall boy. It tasted great and it was more fulfilling.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 81°F and sunny. Today's high topping out at 90°F.

Awesome win last night. Loved it. So happy for the BBN.

Got some chores on the agenda today. Kinda slow this morning due excessive alcohol consumption last night. We'll get started soon.

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

Feel like crap. Drank a few too many craft beers.

I drink a max of 1 beer most days. The rest has to be bourbon, whiskey, or good scotch (occasionally vodka or rum if mixed). I don't get hangovers yet, but I will feel too full if I drink more than one beer.

Craft beers... or dark beers, and I feel like a balloon that needs to be popped.

Back to Game Day Yesterday:

I did something I never do. I changed up my Game Day routine to try to break the spell Florida had in Lexington.
1) I did not wear Blue and White. I wore a green shirt
2) I did not grill out. That was hard for me to do on a game day. It has been my custom
forever
3) I did not get in the pool. On game day I turn on the TV outside and get in the pool to watch. Not yesterday.
4) I did not get on the internet and post during the game.
5) I did not listen to any pre-game shows.

I wanted to do everything backward to break the spell. Not that I am superstitious because I am. :) And for me it worked. :)

I for one appreciate your sacrifice...........

Have you tried farting? I've found it helps me, but be careful if you've drank TOO much. A fart will fool you if it can.

Wow, yeah, changing things up must've really worked. Maybe you should do the same for the remainder of our games and see what happens.

Great win

We beat the Gators with only 211 total yards. Our offense only scored twice. If we can get the offense up to SEC standards, look out. Georgia and Alabama are elites but we can hold our own against the rest of the pack.

Work on that offense Cats and a New Year's Bowl is the future.

We are now 5-0. For so many years we have said, "Well, we did win five games this season. That's not really all that bad."

George Costanza: "Yeah, I should do the opposite."

Seinfield to George: "If every instinct you have is wrong ... then the opposite would have to be right."

George: "Yes ... I will do the opposite. I used to sit here and do nothing ... and regret it the rest of the day. Now I will do the opposite and I will do something."

16th in the AP. Behind BYU, who is an independent, who have played no one.
BYU actually beat three straight Pac-12 teams in a row to begin their season. Two teams, Utah and Arizona State, were ranked at the time Cougars played them. I've been arguing with some folks on Rafters about BYU moving to Big XII.

This is only a couple minutes but will bring a tear for sure at the end! (That is how many grand fathers are...I wish there were more.)

Man I just, ........ , can’t see it sorry. Maybe with a lot of Catalina Dressing. I’m a sauce man 🤪

I got you and understand. I am as anti-dressing as anti-dressing can get. All I want is the food. If I can't eat the food, dressing or sauces are just wrong in my book. Note: My Darling didn't make this, I did. I ate it...

2 of those games were rivalry games and the scores that I looked at showed Arizona ST as the only ranked team and they were 22nd when the game was played.

I'm opposed to Independents regardless of their stature. Notre Dame? Pfffft

Glad they're joining the Big XII.

Rain probably didn't help the attendance for the St. James Art Fair today. They were expecting 300,000 for the 3-day event. One of the largest and best in the country. I haven't been in years but I avoid really large crowds these days but it has nothing to do with that damn COVID. Just too much trouble for this old guy.

My Grandmother on my Mothers side used to keep a slop bucket in the kitchen that she would put all the food scraps in to feed to the hogs. She had a bigger bowl though.
Yeah, we still do that. But it’s called the chicken scraps. Wife loves them chickens. I lov

yeah I’m the opposite. The sauce makes the food. Give me a perfect steak, and it’s not perfect without the sauce. Not sure what made me that way, but I blame it on my grandma. She was the sauce queen in these parts. Gotta have the sauce.

Good morning D-League. Chilly in Pigeon Forge.

We are taking it slow this morning after a couple climbs yesterday that had out calves screaming. Anyone ever hike up to Chimney Tops? It’s worth it for the views, but almost two miles, all vertical. Also walked up a steep piece of the Appalachian Trail near the overlook at Clingman’s Dome. A really nice first day that had us excited about being here.

It did cause me to miss the Cats game, but my daughter recorded it and I’ll find the time. My older daughter is a Gator like her mother, my ex, so the UK-Florida thing has been a family ruckus for many years.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Saw this while checking out unusual architecture pics. I didn't know this building existed but it's in Pigeon Forge.

Maybe you can remember Outback Steakhouse when they first opened. They were considered a high-place joint back then. I got my first steak there and the waiter was irritated because I asked for A-1 steak sauce. Apparently it was an insult to their steaks.
