D-League

The school pays it, not the trespassers. I rushed the field, well, one of the Andy Frain guys let me through a gate in the fence. We stood there talking and all of a sudden the crowd started running toward us to tear down the goal post. Both of us went back to the safe side before they got there.

This win is going to pay dividends as far as recruiting and national perception go. Hard to say how big it really is.
Big! Especially if they win next week.

That was spectacular!!

I watched the game on delay since we had other commitments. I never thought we'd lose this game, but it wasn't close to the score I thought it would be. I predicted 38-21 Cats, but don't mind being that far off with a victory still in hand. I will say I expected the win WITH a turnover by us, when everyone I knew thought that would sink our ship.

They put up a stat late in the game and UNDERSTATED their comment quite a bit. They showed a graphic talking about UFs penalties on the night, which were MORE than earned (since they left a lot of yellow unthrown). Most penalties called against them since 2017.

MOST CALLED AGAINST THEM IN LEXINGTON EVER. MAY BE THE MOST CALLED AGAINST THEM IN A 4 YEAR STRETCH OF GAMES!! And it's about freakin time

CRod wound up 1 yard shy of 100 for the game.

Defense was amazing!! I think I will fall asleep repeating those words.

I bet Sherry a dollar that Florida would beat Kentucky.

Man, that was the best dollar that I ever lost.

Bert, oh little faith!

Plus I got to watch it with my complete family because they were here for the funeral of my best friend's daughter.

Kentucky

For every new flavor of the month among SEC coaches there is a genuine lack of publicity for the job done by Kentucky coach Mark Stoops, who has built the Wildcats into the sort of team that can beat Florida without making national headlines. Kentucky's 20-13 win against Florida is the program's first in Lexington since 1986 and the program's second in four tries after going 30 years without a win in the series. Boosted by Power Five transfers Will Levis (Penn State) and Wan'Dale Robinson (Nebraska), the Wildcats are 5-0 and set to rocket up this week's Top 25.

LSU goes down to Auburn. Bummer. I wanted them to win so they wouldn't be pissed off all week before they play us. l still think we'll beat them though, I didn't see anything in that game that scares me.

I bet the fans will be louder next week than they were for Florida. I think I heard the game is at 7:30.

GOOD WE BEAT THE GATORS MORNING

CATS WIN CATS WIN CATS WIN

To say it is a beautiful morning in Florida would be an understatement. Cats overcome some horrible no calls and fought all odds to take the win. This is college football at it's highest form. The Gators are not chopped liver, they have a good team. So that makes the win even more special.

Oh the weather. it is 68° and the sun is coming up. We will have sunny skies and the high will be 85° . No chance of rain so it is another Florida day. But the HECK with that, i don't care if it was - 6° and 3 feet of snow on my palms trees, CATS BEAT FLORIDA

NO MORE "THEY HAVEN'T BEATEN FLORIDA SINCE 1986 IN LEXINGTON".

Let's all have a great day.

I think the fine is only 25K.

edit: it's only 5K for the first time and 25K for the second. SEC is talking about increasing the fine.
Money well spent. This win was worth a million bucks in future status, recruiting and RESPECT. UK earned respect and that is worth rushing a field and then some.

CATS BEAT THE GATORS. This is one fine I love paying.

I am watching the replay right now without any butterflies in my stomach, without thinking something is going to happen and spoil our parade. Not this time "Jose

I have this T-Shirt with Oklahoma on it instead of Florida.

Great win by the Cats last night........I am not a football fan.........I find it difficult to get wound up by any sports.............On a brighter note......the Director announced her retirement.....Oct. 18..........I got really excited about the news......then she finished......only till the first of the year......then she is going PRN full time......if she works the last 10 weeks of the year it will cost us way more in taxes than what she would bring home.......lots of bonus money this year.......she needs a good break to chill and get away from the Wuflu patients.........she lost two patients yesterday in codes.........she always takes it very hard........one lasted over an hour.......one lady was someone she knew before we got together................I asked her if she wanted a beer......she said she didn't think so........she said, "bring me a shot of that bourbon".........the Director doesn't imbibe often.......She has been telling me that just about everyone that is left where she works is frazzled........they are very understaffed and have all worked many, many extra hours........and now even though they are understaffed they are going to open another floor this week...........

Good Sunday morning D-League,

Wow, what a nice win for UK last night. 1986 all the way up 2021 is a long time to beat UF in Commonwealth Stadium. Crazy how long it's been. I admit, on that last Florida drive down the field, I kept wondering how UK would "out-Kentucky" themselves once again with another blunder for the years of bloopers that we are always on the receiving end of. A freakish play, a phantom penalty, or some other way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

As we all know, with UK football, the game is never truly over until the clock says 00:00 and the refs are off the field.

But not this time!!! We sure needed it and I'm glad I was able to see it.

It's a damp 68 degrees here with clouds/rain showers. We're supposed to get tons of rain today and during the upcoming week. We do not need another drop around here, but for whatever reason, the Good Lord gives us an overabundance of rain. Temps will the 75-80 with all the clouds/rain.

Have a nice day and enjoy the UK football "W" for a while.

The dryer door broke.......the Director wanted to toss it because is is 8 yrs old.....I just ordered a latch for the door that is going to be $17 and will be here Tuesday..........We had to replace the MAYTAG washer four years ago......but the dryer has held up much better........I have a big Lenox roof top HVAC unit sitting behind my house......I have just about rebuilt that rascal with the help of a friend that has an account at the supply house......

My wife posted this on facebook a couple of days ago. She is one of those Just Do It gals. No matter what, she is not going to give in. The machine has worked fine since.

Quoting my wife:

Checked in the laundry room where our ten-year old Bosch 800 series washing machine displayed a “CHECK PUMP” warning. Determined to try to fix it: after practically standing on my head to unscrew the covers, aching old bones and muscles after pushing the washer machine, losing and retrieving the water hose from inside the machine, emptying the pump of coins, nails, rust and sand, Aqua Stop for water in the washer, waited for it to dry, three days later, delighted to say I did manage to fix the problem and saved the household expenses $100 service call. Was it worth it. NO it was not.

Oh, also when I moved the machine, a gallon of Clorox Color fast liquid fell to the wood floor, five towels, one ruined rug, a shiny clean floor, and an hour later …….. just call the service man next time.

Great win

We beat the Gators with only 211 total yards. Our offense only scored twice. If we can get the offense up to SEC standards, look out. Georgia and Alabama are elites but we can hold our own against the rest of the pack.

Work on that offense Cats and a New Year's Bowl is the future.

Good morning D-League. It's currently 66° and overcast here in Eastern Kentucky. This afternoon will bring thunderstorms and a high of 72°.

Great win for the Cats last night. 5-0 and surely to be ranked this week.

Everyone stay safe on this Sunday.

Good morning D-League. Chilly in Pigeon Forge.

We are taking it slow this morning after a couple climbs yesterday that had out calves screaming. Anyone ever hike up to Chimney Tops? It’s worth it for the views, but almost two miles, all vertical. Also walked up a steep piece of the Appalachian Trail near the overlook at Clingman’s Dome. A really nice first day that had us excited about being here.

It did cause me to miss the Cats game, but my daughter recorded it and I’ll find the time. My older daughter is a Gator like her mother, my ex, so the UK-Florida thing has been a family ruckus for many years.

Hope everyone has a great day.

My son and his family were at the game last night. My grandson came home for the weekend, he goes to college out of state, for the game. My grandchildren had never seen UK beat Florida in Lexington. And they have had season tickets all of their life

Now let's build on this and drift closer and closer to the top of the SEC. Why not?

Good morning! I did not sleep like a baby last night. Nope, I slept like a lifelong UK football fan!

I'll be going to see a good friend in the morning to talk about the game and he'll undoubtedly bring up the "Stoops will get taken away if he wins" mantra. I'll tell him again that if UK starts winning big in the SEC, then there is nowhere else to go.

I want Stoops to get paid Calipari money. His product brings more money to the school than JC's does.

If you have time today, go over to KSR and listen to Stoops and Marrow call in to the Jones postgame show last night. Both heaped praise on the BBN and Marrow said the reason he didn't leave was because of the fan support.

They built it. Here we come!

I totally agree with the pay. Stoops has earned it. Football is much more important to a university in $$$$. I am not downplaying Men's basketball but now that college sports are now a big business the football program has to eat first at the table.

I think Stoops will be here when the morning comes and beyond. But if for some reason he is not UK will not have a problem finding an outstanding and successful coach to replace him. UK is a quality job now and many coaches would love to work with Mitch Barnhart. He stuck with Stoops when many of the fan base wanted to ship him back to FSU. And it paid off.

Other coaches see that. Add that to the fan base enthusiasm and SEC money and UK can find a great coach out there. But enough of this, Coach Stoops is not going anywhere. Why should he? We are stepping up to the next level now and Stoops built this thing from ground up.

That 211 excludes the 70 yd blocked kick return. That's a big deal. Also gave FL more time/plays with the ball to help keep our O total down. Stats can lie at times.

Telluride is one of the few CO ski towns I haven't been to. Pretty remote. Friends say it's a neat town, gorgeous views, but ski mountain layout is disjointed. At this stage, I doubt I'll ever see first hand.

For the vast majority of schools, the football program funds all the other sports programs. UK basketball is self supportive, but without football, all the other sports would be in foreclosure.

If we can manage another 10 win season, I bet Mitch gives him about a million dollar a year raise. A quick trip to Googleville shows Stoops at 5 million per year right now. Dan Mullen is getting 6 million at Florida.

Found this also...

Stoops’ contract runs through June 30, 2026 and is automatically extended by one year each time Kentucky wins seven games in a season and automatically extended by an additional year if Kentucky wins ten games in a season. Last year, UK and Stoops agreed to an amended contract that increased his salary by $500,000 per year and changed the bonus structure. He used to receive $250,000 for the seventh and eighth win of the season, but now, that $250,000 bonus will not kick in until the ninth win of the season. He will also receive $50,000 for winning SEC Coach of the Year and $100,000 for winning National Coach of the Year.

That is one heck of a contract and you know Mitch and the administration would love to increase it, if performance on the field justifies it. Stoops is on tract to compete for SEC Coach of the Year. A long way to go of course but he should be in the conversation. Especially if the Cats beat LSU and finish strong.
