D-League

Good Monday morning. Our temperature at present is 62°sunny with a 2% chance of rain. Our high should reach 85°,

Listening to the radio he governor is going to expand gambling in the state and has to call a special session to kick it around. Just a few week ago a treaty was signed with the Seminole Nation to continue handling all of the sports betting in Florida. This is projected to brings in 2.5 billion to the state. And the Indians do OK too. Real good.

On another sports story the NBA is not drawing many people on TV. If I heard correctly it is about 1 1/2 million viewers on TV. How can they pay LeBron's salary on that? Maybe China pays it.

Some more noise...

Oh, I hope all's (Ya'll all's day. (In honor of Loretta)) day will go well and all will have a profitable Monday. God Bless you all...

Good morning D-League.

May Austin's good luck extend to us all. My wife found a $20 bill jogging recently that had been bleached out by the rain to an extent she thought it was "counterfeit." So I was the one who ended up profiting.

A good night's sleep, a six-mile walk and I'm back to work. It was great seeing my daughter and her family in KC, but it made for a compressed weekend. Feels like I just got up from this chair a couple hours ago. Ah well, it could be worse. Like a lot of you, I've dug ditches for a living, cleaned the oil sludge out of the bottom of massive storage tanks, pushed wheelbarrows of concrete UP a grade because the only place the truck could park was downhill from where we were laying a foundation, and so on. So, this desk work is easy money I suppose.

Still, I envy you retired guys.

Morning legionnaires!

As stated above, not going anywhere today, rained yesterday and supposed to rain the rest of this week. If we catch a break I will get out for a few hours of fishing. Will have to look at the radar and see if if gives me a good 2 to 3 hours window. Have not been to the local lake just down the road so, it is time to give it a try again. Temperature will be up to 80° today which is warmer than it has been but, back into the 70's for the foreseeable future. Loving it this cool in May. High 80's to low 90's is the norm here for May.

Wife installed a Firestick this weekend and we are going to give it a shot to see if it is any good. Anybody else have Firestick? Going to get rid of Sling and a couple of other cheap ones we have because together they get almost as high as Dish and DirectTV trying to get some of the channels I want.
We have 1 Firestick, 3 Rokus and a Nvidia Shield Pro. All pretty much do the same thing. I prefer the Nvidia because it also can be used as a Plex server but it costs quite a bit more than the others.

I, like you have had my hard labor life versus what I have now. I was thankful then and I am thankful now. I don't envy the additional years but I do envy being able to wake up to do what I want to do.. though, I am still thankful!

Anybody got a little grandkid that I can borrow for a year? Not to live here....just to be legally tied to me for a year.

They are paying a huge portion already WITH funds from our government support and aid to China.

Morning folks. It is a cloudy 66.0°F here with a small chance of rain.

I am glad the travelers got home safely.

On air fryers and convection ovens: We have both and the only difference is the little air fryer is faster but harder to clean up. But I may try the turkey or at the least a turkey breast in the convection oven instead of using the regular bake function. On turkeys I usually smoke them in my little electric smoker outside.

You all have a great day.

I've seen some cicada carcasses around but yesterday while walking the dog I saw thousands littering the roads and sidewalks. It'll just get worse too. I read where there can be up to 1 1/2 million of these critters per acre. We'll really have to watch our dog closely too. From the Courier-Journal yesterday:

"Is it OK for my dog to eat cicadas? He loves them. This answer comes from personal experience. During the last emergence event we ended up with a very expensive vet visit that involved our retriever experiencing a bout of pancreatitis and an even more expensive surgery to remove a nerf football-sized mass of undigested cicada carcasses."

I could have went all day without knowing that... (Just the unappetizing thought..) 😥 😅

Good morning to the coolest kids on the block.

Now you're lookin' at a man that's gettin' kinda mad
I had lot's of luck but it's all been bad
No matter how I struggle and strive
I'll never get out of this world alive

My fishin' pole's broke, the creek is full of sand
My woman run away with another man
No matter how I struggle and strive

I'll never get out of this world alive

And that right there is how every democracy before ours, died. Once the people realize they can just vote themselves money rather than work for it, it's over. The democrats are buying the government so they can rebuild it with a Chinese blueprint.

Wife's car was a false alarm today. I thought it would be and couldn't understand why the oil would need to be changed after 3000 miles on a new car, at a dealer. Turns out the car was telling her it wanted its oil changed because the last dumbass who changed the oil didn't reset the computer.

Oh well, I needed to get up at 0630 and drive in Louisville morning traffic anyway. No! I did not!

Came home and started laundry. Was gonna play golf in the senior league today but I've got dishes to do as well, aaannnddd, I have to go back to Louisville to pick her up at 1630.

Hope everyone has a great Monday. I know I am...

More vote buying from the Democrats.

Surprisingly there weren't nearly as many cicada carcasses scattered about today. They're either miraculously cleaning up after themselves or people are keeping their yards and sidewalks clear of them. Most can be seen on heavily tree-lined streets. Supposedly billions are being delayed due to COVID. The little bastards are not wearing a mask either. Seriously though, billions have been delayed due to below normal temperatures. Expect an onslaught in the coming weeks.

Or a pack of dogs are scarfing down... Will need a squad of Vets after this rampage...

We have 2 Roku's, and we love them. Don't know much about the Firestick, but I've heard if you "jailbreak" it, you can get almost anything there is.

Maybe they could meld those numbers with the above numbers for the NBA and try to make themselves look a little better to the public. Go from 1 1/2 million viewers to 3 million.
