Please don't change the way you post or the message you want to send, but I don't believe in ANY god. Not yours, not theirs. If I were to believe in a god it would be Ra. I can see worshipping the Sun if you didn't have anything else to do. The Sun can be your best friend or worst enemy. It's up to you.

On a more earthly note, Epicurus is my favorite philosopher. I would like to drink a beer with him. But not too many.
I'm shocked! Not that we have not had conversations about it many eons ago.

Keep up the good fight brother! Make us proud!

I've got an arthritis flare up going on with the middle finger of my right hand. It is aching nonstop and it's pissing me off. I'm squeezing it, sitting on it, twisting it, and otherwise cussing it. Nothing helps. If I move it on its own I can feel it grinding. Has happened before but it's been a few years.
I do the same when I get a pain in my hands or feet. Try to move it every which way but loose.

I never have a headache. I attribute it to not overusing my brain.
That reminds me, at 63 I don't have a gray hair on my head but, most of my beard is. My wife say's it because I am always running my mouth but not my head.

Been up since about 0330 now and finished with my coffee. Will clean up shortly and take to the road. Depends on how well we do whether or not I am on here tonight or tomorrow (2 day tourney long as we are winning). I don't take my computer with me and don't use my phone for this so I will let you guys know how we did as soon as I get back.

Wonder why that is? Anyone have a medical explanation? That has happened with almost every man I know...including me. The beard goes gray first. Weird.

Good Saturday morn to all. Overcast and cool in the Buckeye State with some rain coming in this afternoon.
Got the front yard mowed yesterday...it was getting up there. Burned a bunch of brush, etc in the fire pit last night....always relaxing sitting by the fire. Especially enjoy it in the Fall with Saturday night football on the TV.
Gotta run some errands this morning. Forgot to get a b'day card for one of the G'daughters. B'day is early next week.....so need to get it in the mail. 15 I think....anyone else have problems remembering exactly how old the G'kids are?

Good Saturday Morning

We have a nice day is store and not too much going on. I have to run down to the post office and mail a few boxes of things I sold on Ebay and get my truck washed.

This afternoon I am going to take in a movie at our local theater that specializes in showing Old Classic films for $5.00 plus a box of popcorn if you want it. Free refills too.

Todays' classic is an Orson Wells flick called Citizen Kane. I doubt any of you youngsters have watched or even heard about it but I put it way up there on my list of favorites. Being an Orson Wells fan as I am. I have it on DVD but what is better than watching a good movie at a theater big screen and a box of movie popcorn. I ain't seen it.

Good morning from Shawanee, TN. Currently 44°F, overcast with a light sprinkle. Dreary. Today's high may top out at around 52°F.

Plan on heading back towards Tazewell late this morning. Continuing with some research. Driving over to Middlesboro this afternoon because I must check a few things with mom's house.

Cats vs Horns on the volleyball court for the national championship tonight at 8 pm EST on ESPN2. Go Cats!

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

Speaking of climate change as long as New York continues to elect fools like AOC we are going nowhere as a nation. Her latest "Jewel" To quote Miss Cortez “The trampling of racial justice is a cause of climate change because we are allowing folks to deny ourselves human rights.."

So there you have it quit trampling racial justice and the seas will stay calm and the earth will cool. .

I don't think their whole 'racial justice' SJWing is working so well. Know about 4 or 5 people who in the last month or two have said things that I never thought that they would say. All are very good people. Christians I assume (couple not so sure..but good people). I think a couple may have voted for Biden...but we don't really talk politics. But based on a few comments...they are about fed up with all the nonsense. Comments were in no way racial.

Bom dia,

  • Still dank, dreary, and chilly here. :(
    • It looks like a good day to run some early errands and then garage or basement clean up.
  • Started the week working on my training materials for a different class. I am mainly trying to understand PLC/PACs to a higher level and explain what is going on to Sales Engineers who are not Controls Engineers but need to have a basic understanding.
    • Fun stuff, I do enjoy my career choice.
    • I am not a Controls Engineer by any means, so I bring a "this is what I struggled with..." to the classroom.
  • THEN, I had to do a "Quick Update" to my student laptops.... Let's say that multiple laptops left in their travel case for a couple of years.... Well, there is no quick update, and it can be a frustrating mess.... MAC kicks PCs A$$ every day and twice on Sundays.
    • Oh, the laptops being left in the case - from before my time and with Covid, I never even gave it a thought. My bad on that part.
The things you really need are few and easy to come by, but the things you can imagine you need are infinite, and you will never be satisfied. - Epicurus

I was in my mid-40s when I went to Afghanistan in late 2001. We were traveling through Indian County and my translator went to the souk and bought me a pakol cap -- that flat round model you've seen --and suggested I grow a beard to make it slightly harder for the Taliban to draw a bead on us.

My head hair was still dark brown at that point but my beard came in pretty much solid gray and white. I wore it home more or less as a joke but -- go figure -- my wife really, really liked it so I was stuck with it for months.

Here I am with the cap before the beard could grow in with some of the local chaps...the one not carrying an AK-47...

She proved one thing with her quote, that we need to upgrade our educational system.

Same here. Blond hair on my head but the last time I grew a beard it was salt and pepper.

Classic flick and was rated the #1 movie of all time by the American Film Institute.

Good morning! Not a nice day here for doing anything outside, but it's a perfect day to watch a flick or two.

Coffee was especially good this morning. Probably because I didn't make it myself.

Saw the video of the Terrence Clarke crash. Doubt wearing the seat belt properly would have saved him. Seat belts aren't magic and at a certain point physics exceed their capabilities to protect us.

Posted a few weeks ago about our SIL who was told by VA or military doctors that he had liver cancer.
Come to find out they now say it's a 'fatty liver'. ??? What kind of idiot doctor tells a patient 'you have cancer' and then weeks later it's something totally different?

Regardless, we've glad that it's something that's treatable (many times with diet) and is not cancer.

I've looked for the video but can't find it. A post or two over on RR said that it had been posted but taken down.
Have seen a video or two of people on the scene after the crash...one about Boston running to the car afterwards but I couldn't tell if it was him or not in that the video was taken from a ways off. But haven't seen one of the actual crash showing him speeding and running the light....which it appears is out there somewhere but I haven't seen it. Not sure if I want to.

As parents and grandparents we can use this as a teaching tool. I have teenage grandchildren who are drivers and nothing is better than a video of an actual crash scene to get the message across.

When I was a DI at Knox part of our basic training was believe it or not, safe driving. The Ohio Highway Patrol gave us on scene film of crash sites and I mean nothing was hidden. It was very graphic and gory. They showed the actual wreckage and then the reconstruction or recreating of the crash. It was very moving and the recruits came out of that film session changed. I think we may have saved a few lives on down the line. I know it made me more aware of what I was doing and those around me.

Here it is if you want to see it. It is a very violent collision with a brick wall. The image will stay with you so don't watch it if you can't accept those terms.

My 18 yr old g'daughter was in an accident about a month ago that totaled her car(Jeep). Similar to T.C. but without the tragic circumstances. Was turning at an intersection and a woman ran a red light (speeding) and plowed into her. Thankfully no one was hurt, but the Jeep was a mess. Woman told the police that she wasn't speeding and didn't run the light. There was a witness who backed up my g'daughter's account...but I guess the cop didn't want to believe an 18 yr old and wrote it up as no fault or something like that. Hence the replacement/cost of her brand new Jeep would have been on my daughter and SIL. About 3 days later the police called my daughter and told her that a judge was sitting at the red light at the time....and for whatever reason had checked with the police, or looked up the police report, or something...and went to the police and told them exactly how it all happened.

Being a military policeman at a time of major civil unrest I (all of us really) was/were offered police jobs without even applying all over the country back in the day. Coming upon crash scenes is one of several reasons, I said no.

My heart goes out for Boston right now. Not only did he lose his best friend, he also had to see the traumatizing event unfold in front of him. It's something that will stay with him forever.

Oh, may all your days today come together for the good concerning you. If you have a need I pray it's supplied to you in God's time. God's time is the best time. (I keep telling myself that. It is all that gets me through. I don't think, I know.) God Bless you all...

Just google KTLA Terrance Clarke, but You may not want to see it. I wish I hadn't!

I had an old lady t-bone me in an intersection. Missed my door by about a foot. Totaled my vehicle. Swore I ran the red light. Fortunately s witness at the scene told the cops she ran the light. Her insurance paid.

I say it's Trump's fault.

The Mrs loves this on her steaks....

The large bottle has two different flip up tops on it...one for sprinkle and one for tablespoon scooping.
Opened it up to sprinkle on the steaks (grilling tonight)....gave it a good shake.....oops.
Hope she likes Montreal as much as she says she does.

I have chronic arthritis......I am supposed to take Celebrex but I decided that 500+ a month wasn't neccesary.......I use a CBD/THC Tincture made by a local witch doctor.........it isn't long lasting relief but.....it does give some temporary releif...........my left hand has been giving me the blues for about two weeks........my arthritis pops up in different areas if my body.......my back and hands are my worst areas..........and my neck....and my knees......elbows....ankles......toes.......one of the reasons I am a day drinker now........
