Pretty sure that everyone who posts here had parents that understood life. They knew that if you worked hard, everything would be OK. Where this country went wrong, was catering to the people who refused to work hard, or at all. If you give someone something for nothing, where is the incentive for that person to TRADE something for the value?
Each of us has, at a minimum, two things to offer. Time, and effort. We all have these two things just by the nature of existing. What if you add a knowledge to that equation? Price of labor just went up! It doesn't matter what the knowledge is, apply it where you can. There is a job for everyone.

Going to hit the sack shortly, will be playing in the D West Nationals slow pitch softball tournament tomorrow in northern OKC. First game for us is 0900 but, may be moved to later depending on how much rain they get. We got a lot with a tornado warning still ongoing for our area. They will be getting the same system after it leaves our area until about 0200 or so. Hopefully we will be playing. 82 miles from my house to the Softball Hall Of Fame fields. Will be leaving at around 0600 in the morning.
Ha ha, could be. I was just at the library in Tazewell, TN yesterday and today and probably again tomorrow conducting research. Browsed microfiche on a couple criminal cases that appeared in the local paper.

I've got an arthritis flare up going on with the middle finger of my right hand. It is aching nonstop and it's pissing me off. I'm squeezing it, sitting on it, twisting it, and otherwise cussing it. Nothing helps. If I move it on its own I can feel it grinding. Has happened before but it's been a few years.
As we get older, we pay the piper his due from our younger days.
I remember well the day that I rearranged this finger. My father and I were taking the front bumper off my car so we could get at the engine. I pulled real hard on the bumper and then my middle finger on my right hand wouldn't bend. My father told me it was out of socket and to let him see it. I refused, as any sane person would who had let him use a pocket knife to remove a splinter a couple of years before. I told him I would do it myself and I proceeded to pull the finger out and put it back in its socket.
He told me that it would hurt me later in life because he had done the same thing. I blew it off but now I am paying the price. Or, maybe it's just a coincidence that this particular finger hurts?
Probably from that incident. I was an exercise fanatic when younger and am still pretty active for an old fart. Some of those body parts are complaining about their overuse now.
I never have a headache. I attribute it to not overusing my brain.
