D-League

3 of them are gifts, in the summer time I go thru a bunch metal detecting!!!

One area I have ALWAYS wanted to get involved. My Dad bought one when I was real young (Just in my early teens). I was hooked but up in Detroit not too many avenues to hunt in. It is a plan I have. I have the gold fever and need to scratch it. Lord willing, one day I will.. even if it's just a penny's worth...

They sell cow manure in bags? I seriously didn’t know that. I could have been rich by now.
It is probably the most popular fertilizer around here. A lot of farmers still buy a pick up of chicken manure but cow manure is better IMO. It cost about $5.00 less a bag than things like Virgo or Miracle Gro.

So get yourself a bagger and and make some money. We all need a good source of income in this world today

BBUK, like I have said, this is one of the most relaxing things I have ever done. My dad bought one when I was about 16, that was in about 66-67. He never did find much because the machines were just not that good, but now!!!! I wish my DAD could have used one of these AT-Pros!!!!

Got to tell yawl this, me and Mrs. M never fight, so Tuesday she is fussing and carrying on about a survey she has to do. So she is working on it and asking me what do you think I should answer to this question and I am telling her what "I" think. I think I said I told you this is going to get somebodies feelings hurt! Sooooooo later on I am kinda getting the cold shoulder, but I don't think much of it, because she had some tests done earlier and thought she didn't feel good, She comes in for lunch yesterday same thing, comes home from work same thing. So I start thinking what have I done? So about 4:30 I ask are we going to church? I DON'T KNOW!!!!! So I say are you feeling bad or have I done something? WELL you hurt my feelings saying I TOLD YOU SO!!! I do not remember saying that. So I get mad go set on the deck, then go get a shower. After I get out she comes to me and says, you just don't need to dwell on it and get over it, this is after she has dwelled on it for a day!!!! But we went we went to church and everything is good. Still don't remember saying anything wrong!!!
Cord.....that's your typical married to a woman story. Come up with something original won't you? 😊

Sir,
My words of wisdom. (I DID steal this from Bill Cosby but in this case, the words are good.) A man only needs to know four words to have a happy marriage. (I know a few more words and it messes me up religiously.) But; "Obey, Obay, oBEY, or oBAY....

If I have one wish, that is the wish. I want a metal detector. I AM thankful as I do not have any other wants or desires. Not complaining but I do hope that day comes.

When I lived in Atlanta we'd go up to the Smokies (G'burg, W. Carolina) 2,3,4 times a year. I saw them stocking the streams many times. Camped one time in a campground outside Cherokee that had a private pond in it that was fed by a mountain stream that ran past the campground. It was full of trout.
I had a close friend I worked with who lived in New Jersey. We worked on the International Cat Team together. He would come down once a year and stay with me to trout fish in the Chattahoochee River as it comes out of Buford Dam. He said it was the best trout fly fishing around.

Georgia and Florida are in a huge legal fight with one another over the Chattahoochee. Georgia needs it for water for their out of control population called Atlanta and Florida needs it to supply fresh water to the Apalachicola Bay which is vital for oysters Oyster harvesting had to be shut down for five years due to lack of fresh water in the beds and over harvesting which was a result of poor water quality. It is a mess.

I think Alabama draws drinking water from the Chattahoochee too. So that river that starts as a small stream in the North Georgia mountains and ends up in the Gulf of Mexico supplies water for 3 states

We've got several friends that have a fair number of horses and they have all offered to us to all the manure we want. We never have (don't really want the smell of fresh manure in the truck or the trailer). But I believe with horse manure, like chicken, it has to be composted or processed for about a year otherwise it may do more harm than good.
But yeah, cow manure is great on the garden.

Are Georgia and Florida still fighting over the 'Hootch? If so, that's been going on since....the 80s?
You would think that they would have come up with a settlement by now.
Believe the 'Hootch begins just outside of Helen if I'm not mistaken.
Always heard that the trout fishing was good just down from the dam. Cold water from the bottom of Lanier, which as you know if pretty deep right there. Never fished the river, but we would have the boat out on Lanier as often as we could. If the fish weren't biting...pack up the rods....and crank it up (fish & ski) and head on up/down the lake.

The Supreme Court is involved and who knows how they will rule. Without that water Apalachicola is as good as dead but who can stop "progress" Atlanta needs water and Buford Dam is not enough to supply what both need.

You know the movie Deliverance was about the dam and flooding the area for the lake.

These issues are really, really tough. Sometimes you just can't have both ways. Remember ecology and economy are the same word. Resources have supply source alternatives. Ecosystems with the life they support normally donot. Without analysis I suspect the Chattahoochee will never have enough to quench Atlanta's thirst.

Rabbit manure is best.....it doesn't have to sit......you can use it fresh.....

No Sir, blame it on President Trump... It is his fault. Might as well sue him for it too... Everyone else does...

Gas here at the Costco I get gas at regularly was $1.87 up until the transition in January. $2.30+ now.... Tell me how that happens.... then you can understand Communism. (Hint: No, it is not the free market economy, it is because "they" want to... No other reason.)

Received my proposed tax bill yesterday for my home; 2019 assessment; $485,920.00, 2020 assessment; $495,390.00, 2021 assessment; $507,160.00 2019 % change: 5.74, 2020 % change; 1.95, 2021 % change; 2.38.... Yeah the Demosocialcommunist Liberals have GOOD hold here in my county..(Note: Mine is a meagerly priced home here in this area.). Charge what "they" want, we can pay it.... the Republicans are all RINO's....
Gas prices a month ago were $1.98 here, now they're $2.48. At this rate, we'll be way over $3.00 by Summer.

Women. Can;t live with 'em. Can't live without 'em.

On our trips, if there is a new person that is on it, then we have a shore lunch, the guides pick out the ones they want to fry up. When we get to where everything is set up, they have these 10-12" skillets ready. Guides are in the boats, cleaning fish, then straight to the skillets. We have Trout, fried taters, baked beans, fried pork tenderloin, desserts and drinks!!!!!
Sounds like my kind of eating.

When I lived in Ely, England I was a member of the stained glass museum at Ely Cathedral............I would stop at the cathedral almost every day on my sojourns around the country side...........great looking work Cord!

You ever post on another forum called alt.sports.college.sec.kentucky back in 2003-2006? If so, I remember you from there. Good seeing you here.

Where's Marble Canyon? Beautiful!!!!
marble-canyon-lodge.jpg

Actually its' the Glen Canyon portion of the the Colorado River upstream of Lee's Ferry between GCNP and Glen Canyon Dam that creates Lake Powell. (Marble Canyon Trading Post at Lee's Ferry) is a destination. The river as a managed tailwater of cold water releases creates a zone of unique trout fishery possibilities for North America with the once endangered Humpback chub.

Remember the endemic ecosystem minnow that live here are the trout FOOD! With water demand exceeding demand use Lake Mead for water storage. Lake Powell for flow management we can do both as water flows in one end and out the other we're in charge. Lake Mead & Powell have shad populations. In between everything wants to eat these chubs. Farm these minners, we're the deciders.
