Almost October. I got burned out on pumpkin ales several years ago but this is one I still seek out during the season. If I'm not mistaken pumpkin ales date back to Ben Franklin days.

Yes. Loves me some pumpkin ales. Schlafly = good stuff. I was very much into the style years past. Tomorrow, I'll focus on Samuel Adams Boston Lager, with Guinness Nitro stouts for backup.

Everybody still asleep? No good mornings and weather reports from around our great land?
Been up a few hours. Smoker's going in the backyard for some ribs later today. Gorgeous out this morning for late September in Ohio. Nice and warm. Set up the smoker with p'jay bottoms and short sleeve shirt. I would say it's Indian Summer....but I guess we can't say that anymore 😥 just see Land O'Lakes butter.

Everybody have a good day no matter your weather.

Just ground some Hazelnut Vanilla coffee beans. Normally do a fancy coffee for Saturday/Sunday morning. Have several different types. This Hazelnut I buy at Sam's...pretty good. Lot of the flavored coffees smell better than they taste. True of some things I guess.
Another weekend coffee ritual I've done for years....use a UK mug on Saturday and a Ky Col mug on Sunday.

I got up a little late this morning, 7:00. Had some strong coffee and just got back inside the house. I enjoyed a cup of coffee poolside this morning as the sun started to come up.

. Currently it is 77° and we should have a high of 84°. No rain in the forecast

The Native American has been in Florida for about 13,000 years. I would venture to guess most of these tribes were here when Ponce de Leon landed in what is now St Augustine. I live in the area of the Potano and my brother lives where the Apalachee lived. Most of the tribes lived near the water. There are traces of them still around and several burial grounds nearby. They are protected.

I was born where the Tocobaga lived. My ancestors settled in this area in the early 1850s and they were among the first white families to make this their homestead. Many, many Native America artifacts were found by my g-grandmother, grandfather and mother. Indian arrowheads where abundant.

One tribe you will not find on this list is the Seminole. I guess you can say many of them were not 100% Native American because they were mixed raced and have not been around that many years.

I have a fondness for Native American history.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites and Lurkers.
  • We have 66º in Cumming. Waiting on the game.
  • I heard from FCC yesterday. He was sober. He had had chest pains the day before and had gone to the ER to be checked. I suppose they told him what we already knew. We don't know how this will all turn out, but we know it will turn out.
  • Go Big Blue, or Big Gray, or Big Black, or Whatever.
  • Hope you sick ones get better.
  • Others take care.

Yes RRKat retirement is great. Just got back from trying out my new fishing kayak. Report is that it is a bit small and wobbly in the water until you center yourself but it does move through it smoothly with proper propulsion (paddling technique). Casting form the seated position was good, Still trying to figure out best way to anchor it down. More tryouts are necessary.

Todays' fishing report: Warriorcat 4---Largemouth Bass 0. Nothing big enough for pictures. About 2lbs was the largest.

Good luck.

I remember my little brother in FL telling me about using an excessively heavy anchor on his fishing kayak. He nearly capsized his boat.

Been years since I've been in a kayak, but I would think they would be difficult to fish in...unless you're just drowning a worm. Imagine casting would be hard.
Back when the kids were little and we were within an hour (+ or -) three large lakes I had a fish and ski boat. Fish not biting...pack up the poles...crank it up...and have fun flying around the lake. But, my girl (it's always the girl) never thought we were going fast enough. She'd sit up front laughing and yelling 'faster Daddy'...meanwhile the throttle's at 100%.

Casting was not hard except getting turned in the direction I wanted to cast. With the kayak I can hit areas in these ponds that I don't normally hit.

UK got screwed out of a touchdown. The SEC officials suck. They had five minutes to see the ball was a foot into the end zone, yet they sucked it up and lied.

Auburn is a better football team than UK but not by much.

The SEC officials suck. They sold out.

They always do. Look at every game that UK, when we play a perennial contender, and we never get a fair call, let alone a good one.
