Got sent home early today, and now tomorrow is in jeopardy because of our computer system being down at work. That doesn't bode well for my weekend plans.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 69°F with light rain. Today's high expected to reach 75°F. Tropical storm Beta hit made landfall in TX. We're experiencing the outer bands. More beautiful rain expected during first half of today. No worries. According to long-range forecasts, we'll be back in the 90s by next Sunday.

Good Tuesday morning Legionaires. This is normally one of my fishing days but, rain is coming in so, I must wait until Thursday. Have not had time to try the Kayak yet so, stay tuned.
Back to teaching Karate again. Went last night to help an old friend with his dojo. 2 hours worth. A little sore this morning as I usually train 3 times a week but only for an hour during that time frame. Even though I was teaching I still have to be able to show the students how to perform the task. Only going to teach there once a week for now. Have 2 adults wanting personal training that are gymnastics instructors at a local gymnastics facility. One is the daughter of a man (owns the gym) I used to play softball with many years ago. Will probably start doing it a couple of times a week but only for an hour at a time as that will fulfill my normal 3 times a week training that I do now.
One more thing this morning, I have jury duty next week so look out criminals. Will probably go as it did last time about 5 years back. Was not selected for any jury because, I either knew the lawyers involved or the DA's. Played volleyball with 3 of the local DA's almost every Sunday afternoon during the summer and played softball with a couple of the lawyers in the downtown leagues so, could not be chosen.
Since many of you post about your coffee...how do you like it prepared?

Shoot I water my coffee down. You don't want me on a caffeine high. I use ye old Mr. Coffee. Make a pot, turn it off then pour about half a mug full and then the rest water and then the microwave. I could take a cup of starbucks coffee and make six or seven cups of the stuff I drink. (Maybe eight or nine.) I'm wired enough,
A cup of that coffee and I probably jump over the hood of your car.

WC one more thing about the trip, if you want one they will fix a shore lunch, I think it's $25. We didn't do it this year because we didn't have anyone that was new, but it consists of fried Trout (some of the fish you catch before lunch), fried taters, baked beans, hush puppies, drinks and a dessert. I think that's all, but it is worth it.
I am hoping that I can go with my 2 boys before I die, it's that great of a trip!!!!! I will stop bragging about my trip now!!! No I won't!!!

Today is the first official day of fall. We will welcome it in with a 69° morning and will climb to 82° and we will have a 10% chance of rain. Should have plenty of sun and the breeze off of the Gulf is a breezy 15 mph with gusts to 30. Perfecto.
I like a fast cup of coffee so I make a pot with a Bunn O' Matic and my wife uses an old fashioned percolator. I like mine very strong and black and my wife likes hers weak with everything under the sun added to it. Cream, cinnamon and the works. I can't drink hers and she can't drink mine. Speaking of which, my cup is empty so I need a refill.
Trust all are well and have a nice day. Prayers for FCC as he continues his battle. May God bless us all.

My favorite is the Chemex system with filter:
Yeah I switched to loose leaf hot tea about 5 years ago because coffee started to make me feel just plain bad. We do drink a cup of Joe on Sunday morning and I use a pour-over 2-cup pot similar to a Chemex.Hot tea drinker, personally. Use Keurig for my one daily cup of coffee.

Our windows are open and it looks like they'll stay that way for several days.
Excessive coffee causes my heart to race. Anxiety from the caffeine is another negative factor with me. Learned my lesson after two strokes.
So glad you had a successful, fun trip and returned safely. Hope everyone has a great day. My back is giving me fits, but it's going to be so nice that I am going to take the vette out on a little road trip, today, and put a few miles on her.
I would really like to, but my wife's allergies are so bad, it isn't worth putting her through it.
Use to be the same here. I would want the windows open, but the Mrs allergies wouldn't allow (lots of corn and soy fields around here). But, she has always said that allergies can change about every 5 years or so (heard that from her doctor). Her allergies don't seem as bad as years ago. She found about 4 years ago that she had food allergies, so she has kind of changed her eating habits...so that may have been part of it too.

Same with my allergies. I never open the windows. It is either ac or heat. I have a central vac to exit all the dust to the outside. I take two prescription nasal sprays along with over the counter mucinex and loratadine. Ragweed season (August till a killing frost) is the worst for me.

Another cool morning here started out in the 50's and supposed to top out at 73°F. This weekend it is supposed to get back up into the 80's for highs. It is autumn now.

That's how it was with the Mrs. Those few months she was absolutely terrible. Really felt sorry for her. Then, as I mentioned earlier, you throw in the harvest season for corn/soy and all the dust flying...there were times she couldn't hardly breath.
Then, for some reason (no medicine), it basically stopped. Still a little bit, but not much.
We don't hear much about your work lately. What kind of schedule do you have these days? I hope you are slowing down.
I have one allergy and it is cats. They make my eyes water, I sneeze and it is difficult to breathe. Just a horrible feeling when they get around me. And of course my wife loves cats. We do not have one but my daughter does and she brings it over from Ocala from time to time and I end up on my death bed. Then my wife will ask her to leave it here and it almost cooks my goose.
When the Lord calls me home it just might be due to the cat. Not only does it kill all of my wonderful chameleons and black snakes it is trying to kill me.
It is difficult to live in Florida without Chameleons and snakes. They keep the bugs and pests under control. I hate Cats

Funny thing. My wife and daughter both say I am play acting and not allergic. They say no one on earth can be allergic to a little cat. So I went to an allergy doctor and he tested me for every allergy known to man. The test consisted of giving you shots and if you were allergic welts would swell your arm and red bumps appear. The only test that caused that was for Cats.
I took the report home and handed it to my wife. She just shook her head and did not believe a word of the medical report. What is a man to do?
Hey fellas...you're not too far off Rooster! It's been keeping me on my toes. Once I get accustomed to things I should be back to normal in a few months. Still no excuse...I got free time at home.
I became a Grandpa for the 2nd time over the weekend! Daughter #1 had a little girl, all are home and doing well.
