D-League

Can't believe it's a little after 8 a.m. EDT and nobody has posted temperatures, forecasts, how the coffee's perking.
So.....getting chilly in Ohio. Down in the 40s at night.
Love this time of year...cool nights and fairly warm days. But it won't last long North of the Mason-Dixon.
On my second cup of coffee, so it must have perked OK.

Got down to 47 here. Love this weather. Cool at night, warm, but not hot, during the day.

Yeah it was 46 when I walked our dog this morning. I wore my usual short sleeves and pants and just about froze. Too stubborn to go back and put on appropriate clothing because technically it's still summer. At least it'll be pleasant weather for sealing my folks driveway today.

Years ago I decided I was going to seal our driveway myself. Save the money....right? Got the buckets at Home Depot. We've got a long driveway with a turn around. Took all day. I literally could not walk for about a day and a half. Back hurt so bad from bending over the squeegee thing (even though it had a long handle, but with the constant pushing/pulling, and the fact I'm fairly tall, it did a number on the back).
Learned my lesson. Have paid someone else to do it since then.

Supper time. Month with an R and Prime Rib-eyes. Yes sir, the living is easy.

Looks good. We're ready to take off to a friends house. They're having a 16th birthday party for their daughter. The girl and all her teen friends think that they'll be jumping in the pool. Good luck to them if they do. Just a wee bit chilly here today. Probably be low 60s with little humidity.
I'll stay in the house.

Be sure to wear masks

Just finished about an hour ago. I'm spent. Dad turns 86 this November and he's still a tough task master. I might pay to have it done next time. I'm paying someone to stain/seal my shadowbox fence because it just about killed me 5 years ago. 20 gallons on top of a power washing. Since we had to cancel our vacation plans this year due to Covid I decided this would be my vacation.

These two are looking for work in all the wrong places. Got anything for them?

With the shootings from yesterday, Louisville passed the 2016 record for homicides and it's only mid-September. The federal courthouse will be closed this week for fear of more violence when the Breonna Taylor decision is announced. Mayor Fischer just got a 22-4 no-confidence vote. This city is a complete dumpster fire and it sickens me. Been looking for a nice cave to move into.

This is sad. Louisville better get this under control before you have another Portland, OR on your hands.

Good Sunday morning from the land of the dolphin, manatee and mermaids.

Today is much like yesterday, weather wise but a little cooler. Temperatures are dropping gradually but we still have plenty of sunshine. Currently 73° with our high headed to 83°. Winds will be gently at 25 mph off of the Gulf and chances or rain about 20%.

The governor dropped by nearby Weeki Wachee Springs and delivered a nice check to insure the highest quality of water will continue, unspoiled. Pure clear water.

Time for another cup of coffee and get ready for some gospel singing and preaching. It is Sunday morning.

Good morning from ATX. Current temperature is a lovely 68°F and clear. Today's high should reach around 85°F or so with clouds moving in. Lovely.

I worked until 2:30 am this morning on that network cut-over. Blah. I'll take some comp time later this week. Chores and Zaxby's on today's agenda.

Wishing continued happiness and good health to all our fellow D-League members.

Does CNN run this site? Are we not allowed to voice our amendment rites?
guess they made me out a liar, cause now I can post...Hmmm
You're not a liar when you shoot first. Reckless for sure but that's one lesson for us all.

Thanks
They can't handle the truth.

I have not been to House of Blue or any other thread on Cats Illustrated for nearly a year. I got banned for a day for defending myself on House of Blue. It pissed me off.

So now I stay on the D-League and no other threads. If Ymmot is not allowed back I will probably not be a premium member.

I'm fairly new to checking out this board. Use to only go to the football and basketball boards, then started going to the political board. Remember the poster 'Ymmot'....seen him referenced a number of times....what happened to him. Take he got banned?

It is a crisp 62.6°F up from the 50's earlier when I got up. We are supposed to top out at 74. Yesterday afternoon it was perfect sitting out in my screened in porch. I love May and September in Kentucky.

My Senator Mitch McConnell is taking a lot of grief from a lot of people for doing what he is supposed to do. It makes me mad.

A first cousin of mine unfriended me on FaceBook over politics. He is a flaming left winger. I have sent him another friend request! Just to piss him off.

Yes he got banned and probably should have been banned for a few days. But they cut him no slack even though he was a premium member for years.

He has not gone back yet to see if he can get back on because he said he was not ready to grovel.

My wife was speaking to a long tome friend of hers in California yesterday. Her friend said she was a life-long Democrat and did not vote for Trump in '16. Said she was voting for Trump this time. She said the impeachment was the straw that finally broke her.

Oh, I have exactly FIVE FB friends - one of whom is my wife. I have many dozens of requests but would rather avoid FB drama.

I had the best rice I've ever had last night. Not a huge rice fan but I don't dislikde it. Our friend that had the party last night made a mexican rice in the instant pot. Only thing I know is that she put a stick of butter (shades of Paula Deen) in it and a package of fajita mix. Maybe that was it other than rice and water. Was really, really good.

Rice is pretty much a Deep South favorite especially on the Coastal areas. My mother and father were total opposites in their love for food because one came from Eastern Kentucky and my mother from the Gulf Coast. Daddy loved his potatoes and could eat them three times a day. Mama liked rice and gravy. Preferably tomato gravy but milk gravy was also delicious. Especially with fried chicken steak, fried chicken or pork chops..

One of the regional dishes down here is paella. It is a Spanish dish from Valencia and can be cooked with about any meat or seafood you want to throw in it. The yellow coloring comes from saffron. We have yellow rice at least 2 or 3 times a week.

My wife had never had rice before we married. She is from Estill County and they don't have a clue how to cook it. But now, she has it down to a science and prefers it over potatoes. I never thought she would say that when we were married.

Valencia Spanish Paella. If you don't like seafood try it with chicken, pork, etc. Or vegetarian. The flavor is superb
