D-League

My friends in Cumming, GA sent me this picture. They live on Lake Lanier. They were part of a boat parade for a certain presidential candidate. I see Lake Travis in Austin TX also had one. We have them every weekend around here.

My cousin makes flags and she said her little factory can't keep up with the orders. I bet a lot of them are going on these boats.

I've got an anchor laying at the bottom of that lake 😊

Yes there were lots of fans getting on their feet the last few minutes. I had to be back at work Monday morning so I needed to get on the road. The reason I left with a minute to go was because of the weather. It was cold, ice was forming on highways and I had to cross that dreaded Jellico Mountain in Tennessee.

But I broke my 7 year old's heart and that hurt more than anything. It was a great win because Kansas was a very good team that year.
So you left with a minute left because of the weather. With your kid begging to stay. Ward Cleaver ladies and gentlemen

It is starting to ramp up in the fishing realm now. Friday hooked 6 landed 3 and today I hooked 5 and landed 4. The first catch of the day is pictured below. 3 hours of fishing and now Wendy has her fish fry. Kept 3 of the 4 today.

Holy!!! Moly!!!

(A true statement but see if you catch the reference.)

Yes I am and don't call me surely.

I like the new avatar.
My pork loin yesterday was good, but as you said the complicated stuff is not worth the effort. I marinated the loin for three days in the frige and it was good but hand rubbing it with olive oil, salt and pepper would have been darned near as good and saved me a couple hours of work.

I just put a dry rub on a pork loin, but with a brisket, I do inject it.

Good morning from ATX. Our current temperature is 75°F and clear. Today's high in Austin should reach 94°F. Dryer cooler air may not reach us until this coming Friday. Possibility for rain later in the week.

Happy Labor Day.

Wife and I visit our local T-Mobile dealer for new smartphones at 1 pm this afternoon. Our present units are 5 years old and have slowed way down. Wife's phone sometimes dials out by itself. Her son is a smartphone tech, by the way.

Wishing all our fellow D-League members continued happiness and good health.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites and Lurkers.
  • 2nd mug of Dark Magic going.
  • QB is making my little breakfast.
  • Medicine taken.
  • Lola at my feet.
  • When I took her out to take care of her business I saw two Whitetail Yearlings. They must be getting ready for rut.
  • Don't know which horse won the Derby. I don't even know the names of the ones that ran in it. Wrong time of the year I guess.
  • Nothing going on here.
  • As you were.
  • Carry on.

That had to be the most insignificant race is the history of horse racing. I too have no idea who won or who ran. It is the first time I can recall in my life I did not watch or listen to the race being called. I even saw the Derby when I was in the U.S. Army.

Sports are in a lot of trouble in America. I wonder if people understand?

Bob Baffert (trainer) won his 6th. Tied the record. Can't remember the name of the horse. Tis the Law, the favorite, came in second.
As to your last sentence....there were a number of times I had the TV on mute if you know what I mean.
Overall, with no fans and being run on Labor Day weekend, I thought it was a bore. NBC had it on all afternoon so too much time to fill with fluff and drivel.

Thanks, when I went to church yesterday and we went out to eat not a single person talked about it. That too was a first.

I recorded the Derby and ran over 30 minutes. I actually watched the race live.

Some day the cancel culture is going to die out and we will once again appreciate the great things we have in this country and its great history (even Southern history).

I am at war with the left fringes. I have unfollowed (not unfriended) several relatives and friends on facebook because I simply don't want to listen to their drivel.

Others were watching so I simply left the room. Same with all sports these days. Sports, for me, is entertainment. Politics is not. I try not to make a fuss, just relieve the stress of trying to comprehend such ignorance.

First time I've looked at this thread. Totally different than what I thought it was by the title....where did that come from? Anyway, looks like just a discussion board without the sniping and so forth. I'll check some more.
Welcome OC, like I tell everybody else, this is a great place to land!!!! Great military men in here!!!

Good morning D, happy Labor Day to yawl from the Berg!!!

Mrs. M is on vacation this week, going to do a lot of nothing!

T minus 10 days and now I am counting!!!!

Mrs. M is making her worlds famous peanut butter ice cream for the cookout today!

I saw some Brisket being cooked. I cook mine low and slow for 5-6 hours, then cut it up, then mix 1 cup BBQ sauce with 1 cup water, then back in the oven for another hour.

Saw someone is doing a drive by from the PT thread.

I hope the D has a great Labor Day! Prayers for the D!!!!

Just backed up data on both our phones using Samsung Smart Switch. If you ever transfer from an old smartphone to new, try backing up the old device yourself before heading to the dealer. Some techs will use your old photos without humans (pets, plants, outdoors, etc) and resell these photos on the net using programs like FOAP, 500px, Agora. They can also grab sensitive data. Our bank/credit union accounts are not on our phones.
