Dish is in a battle with CBS over rates so Dish has pulled all CBS programming. You are ok if you have an antenna that receives CBS.
I do have antenna for the locals. But I have several TVs and dish says $5 for each additional tv I have a modulator to send the signal to the other TVs. I will figure it out, just hate the hassle.

My cousin, who lives in North Carolina, dined out at a restaurant called 131 Main this past Friday evening. Look real close in the back, dressed in Tar Heel Blue. Heh. She refrained from getting his autograph.

Raining hard this morning and power went out momentarily. It almost always does with thunderstorms in my little town. Fishing may have to wait if this keeps up. Needed it though, haven't had rain here in over a month, Just some sprinkles and that was all. 100° plus weather. Only plus to that was cutting grass every 2 weeks or longer. Maybe I will just binge watch some shows I never watched yet.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 84°F with 79% humidity and heat index of 93°F. Expecting 100°F for today's high. Heat advisory in effect. 49 days of triple-digits so far this summer. Possibility of rain late tonight. Perhaps we'll receive two inches rain over the next 3-4 days with the coming weather pattern. We sure hope so.

I sorted through change again late yesterday afternoon and again last night. Except for some more wheat pennies, no major finds. Bah.

Wishing all our fellow D-League members continued happiness and good health.

The athletes run sports now, not the coaches or even the team owners. In college the coaches think if they don't support the violence in the street it will hurt recruiting so they jump on the bandwagon.

Where it ends up, I don't know. Do you know if anybody in the family wants the season basketball tickets? I am open to transferring them. My son will take the football tickets because he likes to tailgate at the games. But he is getting disgusted too. He wants nothing to do with our basketball program anymore. Nor do his children

Wow, it looks like it could the end of an era with the basketball tickets. The social justice warrior cause may just be the tipping point for me also. It's discouraging to see what the school, athletic program, and apparently coaches/players stand for and support. Maybe these kids/coaches just haven't looked very deeply into the movement and are just caught up in the emotion of it?

I just cannot go along with all that, so I'm pretty much out at this point. The whole program has become basically unrecognizable to me these days. I know that heresy but that 's how my thinking is at this point in time. Not to mention, the increasing demand for donations on top of all that. I used to get phone calls from the university alumni board along with frequent mail solicitations to donate, but I just ignore it all. I think they got the message because I haven't heard from them in a while.

Yes, it looks like it will end after 60 years. You think your brothers would want them? My son and daughter have no interest anymore and they both grew up with UK stuff all over their room.

I am going to make a few more calls this morning and try to get rid of them. You can only transfer them within the family I was told. But you lose the priority points so throwing out $5,000 and no priority points is not very attractive.

Well folks I cancelled my Direct TV as of 9-7-2020 I have been with them 12 years, but ever since AT&T took over they just keep raising the bill and are just too hard to negotiate with. I have been recording UK games since the 1978 NCCA Championships. I guess I will try Dish or go with our local telephone cable. Hated to do it, but not going to pay 160 plus a month for just pretty much sports. We have no movie channels and really don't want any. What do y'all think about Dish Network?

I had pretty bad service with Dish Network, which is why I went with Directv in the first place, and I really liked Directv. I had good service and dependable signal. However, I left them about a year ago. I, too, was paying increased bills, to the tune of about $200 per month, since we had the upper tier of service. Then, I was paying another $60 a month to the phone company for landline, and internet service. I combined all that with Spectrum, and get it all for $175 per month, which is a savings of about a $1000 a year. Then, I was paying $150 for cell service with AT&T, and I switched to Consumer Cellular, which costs me only $60 a month, which saves me another $1100 a year. I am happy with both and saved myself over $2100 a year. While I was at it, I shopped around for Insurance, since it had been about 5 years since I had gotten competitive pricing. What I found was that I could save another $1200 a year when I switched my auto and homeowners insurance, with the same coverages. For two weeks work, I saved about $3300 a year for these things that you never really think about. You just keep paying the monthly bills. Everyone should shop around for these, at least every other year.

Sawnee,
It has been that way for a long time. You can transfer them once, within the family. However, they do not ask for verification of family ties, and whoever gets its can be a "cousin". For the priority points, I would just let whoever wants the tickets keep it in your name, at least for the time being, and just pay you for them. Then, when they arrive, you can send them to whoever bought them. If it's family, they won't care.

Good suggestion. I was wondering and you may be able to answer this. I have season football tickets also that my son pays for. He will want to keep them because of tailgating with his buddies. With the high priority he gets his choice of lot (by color) He picks Blue.

If I only drop basketball I wonder if I could keep the priority points since they are altogether on the one account. Due to the longevity of the BB tickets the majority of the points came from BB. I wonder if they would divide the points for those football and basketball related. Being a UK Alum also gets you a few points every year.

Oh well,

Yes. We need to do it every year.

Spectrum tries to work the price up month by month. I stay on their butts all the time and keep track of the monthly price. I have a big gun against Spectrum now. South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative has just laid fibre optics in my neighborhood. They offer 1 gig down load and all the streaming of the locals. So if Spectrum goes up I tell them I can get SCRTC in two days. That sharpens the pen.

On cell phones, I should look at getting off AT&T but the two lines are under $90 a month so the pain now is not enough to switch yet. At $150 I would be looking very hard.

I have Farm Bureau insurance on my house and car. The house is high but the auto is cheap. I bundle and so far Farm Bureau beats the crap out of the others.

Rain let up enough so I could get out. Fishing report running constant lately, had several strikes and hooked 2 but only landed 1. So, Warriorcat 1----Largemouth Bass 1.

Having to adjust to the braided line. It is lighter and the wind catches it blows it out so there is a lot more slack. By the time I reel and straighten it out I miss setting the hook on the strike. Have to adjust my casting methods.

Oh well,
Turn in your tickets so a fan that actually likes the team can go.

Good morning from ATX. We've got 84°F, steamy with 73% humidity. Our rain chances increase greatly around 2 pm to around 50% or so. Today, we should remain in double-digit territory for the first time in a long time. Fall front due in next week.

Welcome back, Rooster. Happy Hump Day.

Wishing continued happiness and good health to all our fellow D-League members.

That is pitiful.
What is it about these people that makes they want to destroy everything in their path? They have no pride and no shame. Just total destruction, burning, graffiti and looting.

With this movement taking over the nation no wonder gun sales are out the roof. Most every corporation in America gives BLM millions of dollars, of course all of the sports teams are in bed with them and are scared to death to speak out. They lock arms and join them.

Lord knows I am glad I am 77 years old and knew America when it was America. I do not know today's America. I am also thankful I live in a very conservative small town USA away from this garbage. You can drive through our little town and there are no spray painted buildings or walls or BLM signs on people's lawns. That does not fly around here. Not with our sheriff.

I wish you lived closer to here, they have a military training site about 6 miles down the road from me that used to be River Queen mines, it's called the Wendell Ford Training Center. Our NG unit out of Madisonville was one of the first to train there. We slept in sleeping bags and just ran the tanks up and down the roads. Now it's a huge complex with ranges, barracks and even an air strip. Lots of activity there. There is even a search and rescue area where they brought in lots of stuff to simulate where there has been and earthquake to train people and dogs! Anyway what I was getting to was, this place is loaded with old strip-mining lakes! The thing is that you have to be retired from the military or police, EMT or retired from the state. One of my best friends is retired military, has told me it's an everyday thing to catch 25-30 bass every time he goes!!! He told me that since I have my DD214 he could take me, but his health has prevented us from going for now!

My son trained there often.

Good morning D! It's a beautiful day here right now in the Berg, but it's going to change, big rain just coming across the Land between the lakes. We had over an inch of rain last night.

Just 15 days till fishing trip, but I am not counting the days! Got all my licenses yesterday. No a good day there, it's nothing to catch up to 50- 75 a day.

I am just about like everybody else, just can't get excited about any sports. It's like your watching a show about politics and a game breaks out!!

I have been trying to build some shelves form Mrs. M, but I couldn't because they were going in a place where we had a freezer, finally got it out with the help of my neighbors, got them built yesterday! Mrs. M is happy!!! Happy wife, happy life!!!

Hope SC and FCC are doing better and glad to see Mr. Rooster is back. Hope you are ok. When someone goes MIA start worrying bout them.

Druggies were at it early next, screaming and yelling, two left walking, $hit gets old!!!

Out of here D, hope all D has a great day! WC don't let the bass off the hook today, oh and by the way, I hate braided line!!!

Good to see you Rooster. I have missed your posts.

It is 78.3°F here on its way to 83° with thunderstorms predicted. The humidity is a sticky 78%. This morning at 4:35 am CDT we got dumped on. It rained for about 30 minutes and we got 1.24" of rain. That is simply a downpour. I am glad I mowed yesterday.
