Stoops said on postgame that it was a "significant injury". Also audio has him telling EMU coach he was sorry for throwing so much at the end of the game but he needed to get the backup some reps because Wilson would be out the rest of the year.

Those tidbits came from Ryan on the Jones show.

Here's the video of Stoops telling the EMU coach that:

I'm hoping that the MRI gives us something postive on Terry today. Now if Smith is going to be the starter for the forseeable future, expect him to get better. Having to replace the starter after an injury, and working with the first team is going to be a little rough. While Smith isn't going to be Wilson, he does have starting experience and chose to be here. I couldn't imagine the QB situation right now had he not come here.

Good Morning D

You could see on Stoops face on the sideline that he knew it wasn't good. He had that lost puppy look like Bush Jr. on 9/11.

Shame about TW. I would guess torn ACL from the precautions they took and comments after the game.

I'm no doctor but I play one on the internet sometimes and I'm going with a torn meniscus. If so, then he will return this season after a minor surgery.[thumb2]

Hey Everyone,

Weather report calls for another blazing high of 95-97 today and on through the week....wash, rinse, repeat. Church was outstanding this morning with a great time of worship and fellowship.

A nice win and move on to 2-0 for our football Cats, but sorry to learn about Touchdown Terry and his knee ailment. Next man up...

I switched around between a few games last night, including the Atlanta Braves and them extending their division lead against the Washington Nationals. They are on fire right now and it's a really fun era to watch them. I know, I know, it's sacrilege to talk baseball and admit my MLB fandom, but it is what it is. Our small handful of baseball aficionados understand.

-I'm interested to see how much LSU moves in the poll after their big win.
-UT Vols lost again, which sort of surprised me. They do have some great athletes, but something is very "off" with them.....well, at least until they play us, then they'll suddenly play like super bowl champs. Living pretty close to vol country down here, many of my UT co-workers seem to be taking on an attitude of apathy. Never thought I'd see that from their delusional fanbase.

I'm watching the NASCAR race and if the fans in the seats are any indication, I'm one of very few. I haven't watched a full race since Daytona. They have all but ruined it for me. I liked it much better when I could tell what kind of car it was by its shape instead of looking for the little sticker on the front

If TW has a torn ACL, he knows it already. I have had one. Very painful.

Over the years we have seen just how important the back up quarterback is. As a backup you are one snap away from being the starter. If Gunnar Hoak had stuck it out he would probably be our starter now. Thankfully we found Sawyer and he has the potential to lead us to what still may be a great season. I think he will. Trusting Terry's injury is not as bad as we fear. I hate it for him.

Still going with my meniscus diagnosis.

Smith is supposed to have good touch on the long throws. Last night might have been too soon for him to show it consistently. He'll get better though.

I hope Hoak was watching the game last night.
They say an MRI would be done today. Maybe Coach Stoops can get out a press release through the public relations folks. If not the question will come up in his Monday press conference.

But no matter what the diagnosis we have a Big Game against the Gators Saturday and Sawyer is the man. Eddie Gran and staff must have him ready to go

Maybe it's just a sprain. I never saw his leg do anything or go in a direction it wasn't designed to go. Being hopeful. I don't think you would hear a pop with a sprain. On the other hand, I don't think you could hear an ACL tear either. Especially with all the noise he was in the middle of.

I am an ex-NASCAR fan. Once upon a time I traveled all over the Southeast following NASCAR. I have been to most of the tracks in the Southeast and Texas. Back then tickets were hard to get and every seat was filled. A few of the tracks I went several times a year. Atlanta, Talladega, Daytona, Darlington, Charlotte to name a few. Then NASCAR went Hollywood and it was all about money. They did away with traditions and made every car alike all in the name of parity. It killed everything and took the meaning out of stock car. Stock cars were cars you could go to a dealership and buy it off of the showroom floor. Then you could take it to the garage and work on the engine to get the max out of it.. Then it the track and go. Fireball Roberts, Lee Petty were part of that group.

Because of your post I turned on the race. There are entire sections of the track with no one sitting in them. If it is 10% capacity I haven't seen it. This year I had access to four tickets for the Daytona 500 and turned it down. I have not been to a race in 10 years and I doubt I ever will again. But I do love racing and fast cars so I go to some local speedways where racing is fun and wild. Now if I only had the thousands of dollars back I wasted on the sport of NASCAR

So, were they calling for rain in Indy today or has NASCAR taken a BIG hit in popularity because that place is very empty.

I listened to some local Gator news and they have their share of key injuries. One of them is Kadarius Toney a dangerous wide receiver. Also C J Henderson was injured in their game yesterday and is in a boot and on crutches. Sounds like neither team is 100%. I think the game will be decided on the line of scrimmage so I like our chances

You didn't waste it if you enjoyed it at the time. If I went to Indy for a race it would be NHRA. Even though I disagree with changes in that sport as well. They shortened the race but guys are still hitting 330 mph.

It's way down. They made changes the fans didn't like and then to fix it they did more things the fans didn't like..

According to Hemmingway...
“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.”

I wonder if he would still say that.
