I plan on it. Both of them. Some of the nieces/nephews will be down and they always get a kick out of seeing Jupiter and Saturn. I love checking out Orion. I never get tired of it. Even with binoculars it's a joy to look at.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 80°F. We might see triple-digits, but likely upper-90s today.

Are you ready for some Wildcat football tomorrow? I am. Go Cats!

I agree, FCC. What dentists charge is a crime. Wife got new dentures recently and we paid lotsa $$.

Man whats the freaking deal? One implant, one tooth mind you, anywhere between $3,500 to $5,000 in Paducah. I asked one of the places I called how do people do that, and she giggled and said they take out loans. Really! I'm thinking about taking out a loan for food for my family of 6!!! Geeezzzz. FCC

It is a brisk 60.6°F and sunny. What a cool down from yesterday afternoon. Fall is in the air and football in about to start big time.

I am getting the decks scrapped and repainted. The screened in porch is about to receive a new rescreening. Yesterday Brian (a guy that does work for the city, that I originally hired) sprayed the bermuda grass in my yard with roundup. Hopefully it will be dead in a week. Tilling and reseeding in September.

Good morning D League

Thanks to Dorian I am headed home. I may be one of the few going to the storm rather than running from it

Trust all have a great day

I have a good friend who owns a condo in Destin. They left, yesterday, to go down there. I'll tell you the same thing I told him, be careful and be safe.

Prices are high, but on the bright side, they pay Bev's salary.

Well, maybe she can get me some charity work on my aging teeth? I'm scheduled for a 300 dollar extraction on Sept 9.

Anyone have dentures? They are probably cheaper than an implant. Growing up there was a grocery store and gas station across the road from my house. Don, it was Kellys grocery. They gave me the run of the place. Candy all day. Cokes too. A new thing also called Dr Pepper. It's all catching up with my 30 to 50 year old crowns. FCC.

In the late 50s, you could get a tooth pulled by a dentist for 50 cents. True story. There was a dentist in Mount Vernon that would sell a full set of dentures for $50. Get all your teeth pulled. Wait a month or two to let the gums shrink. Go to his office and he made the impressions. Sent those impressions somewhere and you receive your dentures in the mail.

That dental office would have people in there from 3-4 different states.

My parents were poor and uneducated (neither went past the sixth grade - my mother was married at 14). They never made or encouraged us to brush our teeth. I don't even remember owning a toothbrush as a kid. Hence, I had a partial plate at 17 and all my teeth were gone by my mid-20s. I bought that $50 set of dentures that came in the mail and I have been wearing them for nearly 45 years.

This was sad situation but they didn't know any better. It was just a fact of life that your adult teeth came in, rotted out in a few years and you got dentures.

My generation was the first to have the opportunity to escape that cycle of poverty and ignorance by moving "up north" (I hitchhiked 400 miles) where there were jobs.

The only good part is that I haven't been to a dentist for 45 years and have saved a fortune.

Early appointment with DR's PA. Went well, everything ahead of schedule. Boy a 7:30 am appointment with one day out of Hospital is tuff. Going to rest a little today and get fired up for tomorrow.

Peace to all, have a great Holiday weekend and be safe out there!
It is sure good to have you back RRKat.

Just take it easy on screaming at the TV tomorrow!

The dentist that pulled teeth for 50 cents was in Tazewell, TN. Cheap, but not painless.
My wife's uncle was a dentist in Tazewell, VA (it is up in the mountains of western Virginia, near the North Carolina border.). Tazewell, TN sounds better!

His name was Lutz. He raised a bunch of fine kids. One was a Navy pilot. Both Dr. Lutz and Sherry's aunt were in the service in WWII. That is how they met.

I still have all but 5 of my teeth. The wisdoms are gone and one 12 year molar.

I was forced to brush my teeth. My mom was a bad woman! :sunglasses:
