That's a big check and a rog.......Jodie Meeks?
That's nice of you to say Don. Thanks. Like all dads I'm proud of my kids. And relieved -- he made it to Lexington without a problem, and has even made contact with the local franchise of the moving company he worked for here and will pick up a couple shifts this weekend. You are raising your son correctly. A kid earning $8K over the Summer and applying same towards his college education must make you very proud to get to say that. Put your chest out
Good morning D League
It is currently 74°F and we will get up to 90°F. We have a 40% chance of rain and yes the humidity will be high. Sauna bath levels. Speaking of humidity AustinTXCat is right about humidity down here and if you can't take it you will be miserable. Or stay inside all the time. I was raised in it before air conditioning but when you don't have something or know what it is you don't miss it. If you took AC out of Florida you would see 20,000,000 people get out of here.
I like to sweat and 95% humidity is comfortable to me. My wife says I have alligator blood and she does not like hot weather. I imagine If I die before she does she is headed back to Kentucky. Trust all have a good day today and stay cool.

I heard about CA trying to blame TX. Those people really need to lay off the acid...Morning D, well was going to stain some of the deck, but we had a storm that blew thru here yesterday dropped some rain so I will just have to wait. We lost power for about 3 hours, really was nice and quiet for those 3 hours! During the hour that it blew thru the temp dropped almost 20 degrees!
I heard 2 really crazy things on the tv and radio this morning
First I heard that all of California problems with the homeless is Texas's fault! I knew it was all your fault ATX!! The gov. out there is a real nut case!
Second, I listen to a station out of Hop'town when I am out in the truck and they give out the dumba$$ award for the day and today was given to a guy that decided that he was going to get rid of some weeds around his house, so he gets a blow torch out and proceeds to not only catching his house on fire, but three of his neighbors houses! He sounds like one of the guys ya'll are torturing over on the PT thread!
Ya'll have a great day, praying for those in pain and whose hearts are hurting!!!
Yes, he must have sweated a gallon. I bet when he goes to LSU or UF they follow him around with a mop.Did you see Bruce Pearl in Kentucky?
40 years ago? Damn it doesn't seem that long ago. MTV sure played the hell of that video.
I saw him in a sweaty white shirt a couple of times today.Did you see Bruce Pearl in Kentucky?
We harvested at least 70 romas from our 1 plant this year. Great sauce and salsa tomato.D-League, hey, how's it going this morning?
We're supposed to cool off today with a high of 92, which is down from the past several days. The air conditioning went out where I work, so that's been interesting to say the least. In the afternoon, it got up to 91 degrees in my office, complete with muggy, humid "air you can wear" soupiness. I knew we were in for a tough stretch of days when I came into the office at 7:00am and it was 80 degrees in the room. But, we forge ahead, no matter what the temps are; it is August in the south after all, right? No excuses....works gotta get done.
I harvested a huge bushel of banana peppers from my vegetable patch and have really enjoyed cooking with those things. Along with our Roma tomato, basil, and bell peppers, we love the freshness that comes from our home garden. Thankfully, the critters and bugs stayed away from them this time.
Everyone, have a nice day.
Safe travels.Good morning D League
On the road this morning. Since it is Peach Day I will eat me one in Georgia.
Weather is nice for traveling. Coffee is great. Football is in the air. Have a great day.
Good morning D-League.
In honor of Eat a Peach Day (I could have gone with Melissa or Blue Sky but this will get the blood flowing the right directions):
That's cool!
Duane may have been the best guitar player of all time. He is at least top 5, along with Clapton, Hendrix, Vaughn.
Gives new meaning to "from way downtown".
The day Gregg died I felt like I lost a member of my family.Good morning D-League.

Hope you are safe.Gas stop in Macon. Ate a peach. Now I am heading on up the road. Nothing like a ripe peach.
I like all those guys' music. No one ever mentions Mark Knopler either. Oh well, the best guitarist is probably someone who was always a session musician and we don't know his name. Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, and Glen Campbell never get their due because they were country music I guess.
Probably a Dem.Had a guy come into my office yesterday yelling at one of my co-workers because he used an ellipsis to end his sentence in an email.. He (my co-worker) was requesting the correct orders for a soldier to get his travel to next duty station. The irate guys was angry and shaking telling my co-worker that the use of three periods to end the sentence meant that he was yelling and cursing him. I came out of my area of the office to try and calm him down. He explained that in his circles three dots means you are calling him an inept ass. I looked at him and then at my co-worker and ask if that is what he meant. He of course said no and that he had no clue what this guy was talking about. I told the guy it was an ellipsis and did not have a derogatory meaning. He then said that he was a PC guy and that in the PC world that is what it meant. I stopped him right there and said that we do not do PC in our office and know nothing about PC meanings. Told him that it was simply a misunderstanding by him and to just let it go and we would as well. He sort of agreed and walked out mumbling something under his voice... what is the world coming to?.
Fruitcake.
That's putting it nicely.Fruitcake.
