My wife always gives me a hard time when I get a #4 haircut...and I always tell her, I might let my hair go and go with the Giorgio look...

She laughs and rolls her eyes but...right now I need a haircut and I was planning on letting the barber in Clarkson, KY have at it again...BUT...maybe I need to let it GROW some more! :alien::alien::alien:

I say let it grow. Clip the sides a little more and you'd get the Eraserhead look.

I was outside last night until 0400 and saw Jupiter very bright about a thumbs width from the Moon.
Yep. Saturn is running 2 hours (looking at a clock) behind. Hopefully the skies will be clear this Thursday down at Nolin. I want to pull out the 3 In. and 8 In. scopes and check them out again. Unfortunately
Dear OLD Mother Nature has a nasty way of gathering clouds where telescopes are set up.

Good Monday Morning D-League

Trust all are ready for another week. The man on the radio is talking about Amazon Prime Day. The problem for me is at my age I do not need anything. Krispy Kreme is celebrating thieir 82nd birthday with a special doughnut today through Friday. Mercy

We expect a typical July 15 day. Mid 70's for a low and a chance we may hit 90. Good day for the beach.

Maybe this is what I do...get the D-Leagues opinion...and roll with that! Give me your opinion DL's

I say go for it and it matches the tie. From listening to the news and watching TV most women seem to like bald headed men who shave their heads. But since you are not looking for women I would say leave some hair on the head.

Good morning D-League. Not quite ready for another Monday, but here it is. A full calendar beginning in one minute, then I have to drive to Baltimore to the BWI airport to pick up my wife and daughter.

I did a little math, and figured out I have exactly 100 Monday mornings on the job until I should be able to retire. I'm starting a file on my desk top and knocking it down to 99 on my way out the door today.

Glad we have some star gazers on this thread. I never learned much about it but found it one of the most enjoyable things, just to lay on my back on a sleeping bag and look at the sky. My best experience doing that -- the middle of Saudi Arabia with no light source for many, many miles. I'd never before that had the illusion of stars stacked layer upon layer, seemingly in an infinite depth. Later had a similar view in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa. Clear, dry nights in the mountains of Western Colorado have come close. My son and I were out on the back porch just picking out the Big Dipper and Orion a while back, barely able to see that with the ambient light, and he told me he'd never seen a real, full fledged, blazing falling star - just a few one or two second blips. I was stunned. And it made me sad.

Good morning D from the rainy Berg. Looks like Barry hit us this morning, just a slight drizzle right now.

Was supposed to get a couple outside lights changed today but that may have to wait. Got a good friend that helps us out on doing repairs, in turn we usually buy him a $100 gift card to Texas Roadhouse plus Mrs. M makes him an Orange Juice cake. His wife told us she never gets any of the cake and he usually eats it in two days!

CatinIL are you in KY? I know that's a stupid question but you mentioned Clarkson which is not to far from the Berg.
The picture you have of the space guy, man he is really out there some where! He makes me laugh about some of the things he talks about.

Will you do me a favor and tell me the next time a comet comes by. I have seen a few but I really enjoy watching them! Never will forget the first one I ever saw, our last day of basic training at Fort Knox Jan. 1970 we watched one all night long, it was amazing!!!

Ya'll have a great day! Y and 93 ya'll are still in my thoughts and prayers daily!

WC, Y and the other D leaguers keep busting their chops in the PT!!! Makes for good reading and laughs!

Drat, missed it by | | that much

Would ya believe...

Good morning! Got lots of sleep last night but I still owe myself some.

Amazon Prime day! I want a belt sander but they're not on sale.

I put a 10 lb butt on the egg at 2000 Saturday night and took it off at 1000 Sunday morning to deliver to some people. It was a good looking hunk of meat. This was the first time I had used yellow mustard to hold the rub on the meat. Couldn't taste it after it was cooked. I've always just slathered them with some kind of cooking oil.

Turns out that one of the guys who was going to eat it has competed in bbq cook off's in the past and has taken 3rd place in a national contest. He was happy with it and wanted to know what rub I used. I told him that I made the rub and when he said he wanted the recipe for it I had to tell him there was no recipe. Once again, I wish I had written down what I put in there.

Gonna mow today.

I saw one on my way home from Lake Beshear on night, I saw it in my rear view mirror and when it got in front of me it burst into lots of pieces! First on I ever saw explode. One of the amazing things is you can just look at the sky with your eyes and see a few stars, but when you look with binocs or a telescope a whole new view opens up, it's amazing!

Looks Like Saturn, Jupiter and Mars...along with the Moon will be crossing the sky tonight. I wish I was At Nolin Lake so I could bring out the Scopes to take a nice long peek. :alien:
Now true. The RV park section of Nolin Lake State Park is one of the best for lack of light pollution, outside of being deep in the western desert. I was there the night that the metallic meteor hit the guys car in Illinois. It streaked a strange green color. It was really bright.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanite Wildcats.
  • 88º in Johns Creek. Clear skies. We need rain badly. VFR.
  • #5 Report: He has lost 10 pounds in 5 days. Can take the rubber bands off and eat with a tiny spoon, Applesauce, MP & G, baby food, etc. Hunger was about to get the best of him. Check his bite next week.
  • Glad to hear from SC-Cat. We have been wondering about your well-being.
  • Those of you that are ailing: hope you can heal.
  • Be safe.
  • Take care.
  • Carry on.
  • As you were.

Yeah, it's nice looking up and being able to see the band of the Milky Way.

Yeah, I'm in Louisville but we have a place at Nolin. I'll need to take a look on the Cloudy Nights website about any upcoming comet events. I'll post on this thread once I find out. And Giorgio is the MAN! :alien::smiley:
