This ole boy showed up this morning and has been begging for food all day. A Florida Wood Stork. You don't see many around. He comes around a few times a month and the rest of the time he stays out in the marshes. A wader bird.

The 4th of July is only 2 weeks away. I think I'll smoke a duck this year. I've owed the Egg for 20 years and have never done it. Rolling paper jokes?

Ha. When I was a kid a cigarette butt was called a cigarette duck. When I was a kid and had no money (which was always) I would pick up cigarette "ducks" on the side of the road and smoke what was left. I thought, surely UK82 can afford a whole cigarette

Larvae of the Sphinx Moth Family . . . Hornworm Caterpillars
That looks like a tobacco worm. They are at least 1st cousins.
The Family Sphingidae (Sphinx Moths) belong to the Superfamily Sphingoidea. Linky
Torture them by putting them on a hook and feeding them to the fish!!!!!
You catfishermen pay attention. Pinch off their heads, then using a long shanked hook placed between their rear legs beneath that tail horn and turn them inside out over the hook. Now you know. If you want to freeze them for later, rinse until gut is clean and water runs clear, then freeze in cup of water. Family Catalpa worm recipe.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 80°F at 4:30 am, clear and slightly humid. Should have another hot one. 3 more months of this. Ugh.

Edit: We're under heat advisory until 7 pm this evening. Double ugh.

I plan on hitting up the pub after work for a few beers. We'll check back later. Y'all behave.

Two wisdom upper teeth. Just rode it out 2 weeks until the nerves got covered over. Hurt so much.
This was on the bottom ..it had grown in sideways and had a hooked root. Took some doing to get it out.
I work in a dental office so I didn’t have to make an appointment at least.

Anyway morning D
Hope you all have a great day

Good Thursday morning D League

The girl on the radio said dryer air is moving in cutting down the chance of rain to 20%. Should warm up for the weekend.. We are presently at 76° and it will get up to 85° by mid afternoon.

Will he or will he not. That is the question as we anxiously await the big decision. I understand he may have set a record for the shortest campus visit. I don't know what that means if anything. Probably not.

I have to get a haircut. No ifs or buts it is time. My Company Commander would not allow me to stand before the troops looking like this. So I will break down and pay my $7.00 and get it done.

Trust all have a great day.

Good morning D-League. Well, it is full-blown summer on the Potomac. Made the mistake of thinking I could take a pre-7am walk before going to the office, and got absolutely saturated by the humidity. I had to lock myself into a bathroom stall in a remote part of the building, strip down to my underwear, and give the AC ten minutes to dry out my clothes. Not a huge fan of the brutal summers here, at least during work weeks.

Looks like we'll have to be patient, maybe into next week, on KB. I 100 percent would love to have him, but unlike many I was good with Nick, EJ and Sestina in the front court, with someone Cal might have signed as a 5-6 minute player like Eloy Vargas in case of foul trouble or (god forbid) injury. I say that because I think this team's destiny is its guards and wings and I want Cal to play in a way that spreads thinks out and has Hagans and Quickley and Maxey and Whitney attacking the basket. Blackshear might mitigate how much Cal committed to that style. But again, I'll be thrilled if he comes.

. . . . . . . . . .

You all keep after those tomato plants. My dad and brother spend hundreds of hours to produce tomatoes that are so plentiful when theirs ripen that everyone in the county is trying to give them away. But I suppose it beats drinking as a hobby - or maybe causes it.
I raise tomatoes and also drink as a hobby! :weary:

We are in the planning stages of our 50th, for next summer. We are pretty lucky. Out of 260 graduates, we have only lost about 45.
I was in a small class of 53. 12 of the 53 are now dead. One died young in Vietnam and another of muscular dystrophy. My old girlfriend died at 46 of cancer. My best friend died in 2015 of cancer.

My class is on a percentage basis doing better than yours Ben: 4.4% versus 5.8%. Did Vietnam hit your class harder?
