Good Monday morning D League

Trust all have a good week. I am still thanking the good Lord for some rains to heal our land down here. Another go around and our lake will be full to the grass line. Our current temperature is 79° and a high will be reached in the afternoon of 83°. Skies are clear at the moment but in the West they are gathering giving us an 80% chance of thunderstorms. We have a Marine Alert with strong thunderstorms over the waters. From Tarpon Springs to the Suwannee River winds will be 30 knots extending out as far as 60NM. This makes for some rough waves and caution is the word.

This is a typical pattern for June and will last until about November. But now to the important items on Cats Illustrated. Football recruiting. We have a couple of more high end quality commitments from players that everybody wants. Now if we can hold on to them until signing day, and I see no reason why we can not, we are in good shape for the future. "We just gettin' started bros"

Where would I be in life without sweet tea? It cools me off in the heat of the day and relaxes me in the evening shade. I love my coffee and drink a pot or two in the morning but around 12:00 noon I start drinking sweet tea with a slice or two of lemon and drink at least a pitcher of it the rest of the day. It is the Champagne of the South as they say down here.

Morning D leaguers and leaguettes
Re did some brick edging over the weekend...self inflicted. I mentioned to the redhead how we need to re do it... Now it's getting redone.
Bought a mole trap over the weekend for $19.99 ....caught 2 with a shovel
I'm doing my morning mole patrol before getting ready for work. I still have about 2-3 more.

Speaking of a shovel, Monday morning....

I have watched my brother stand out by a mole trail with a 22 rifle and kill moles!!!

If you ever get a chance to see The Million Dollar Quartet, go see it!!!! Show about Elvis, Jerry, Carl and Johnny worth seeing!!!!!!
Last fall my wife and daughter took a trip to Memphis and stopped in at Sun Records. She found a CD that had recording sessions on it of the artist goofing off and just rehearsing, etc. Nothing that was recorded for a finished album or single release. In this was Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee and Carl Perkins messing around. Elvis was on the piano. It gives you a great look into the personalities of these artist and one thing stood out. Their roots in gospel music came through as they played and sang the old gospel hymns they had been raised with in church.

In the early days Rock and Roll was a blend of gospel music, the blues and country. It is evident in the sound if you are familiar with those genes. .

Good morning D! It's been a interesting weekend, We went to Mrs. M's company party Saturday in Grand Rivers at the Badgett Playhouse, we had a meal and the show was the 70's and 80's music. They put on a good show, but Mrs. M was ALL TORE UP because they did not play any music from the movie Top Gun!!! Man was she fired up!!!! I told her I would sing it for her, But I got that look again!!!! This playhouse is right across from Patti's restaurant, I kept hearing that they were getting close to reopening but from what I saw there is no way, I hope I am wrong. We really had a good time, but I think I got food poisoning, woke up at 12:00 really sick!!!!! I didn't go to church, but I think GOD had a reason for me to stay home. I was all stretched out in the recliner when the phone rings, immediately knew something was wrong when I answered! I could hear the panic in my daughters voice! Where you at dad? My granddaughter (3yrs old) had gotten a jar lid (a mason jar lid that you can drink out of with a straw) stuck on her finger and she couldn't get it off and it's turning white and bleeding! When I got there I started looking for some tin snips, but all I could find was side cutters, by this time she had already called 911! When they got there I warned them that my granddaughter was a fighter. Well it took 4 of us to hold her down while the EMT worked on cutting the lid off with the cutters and during the fight her finger slipped out of the lid. When the ambulance EMT'S got there the first thing one of the guys said we got it off but man she's a fighter!!! Everything turned out ok, the finger is a little swollen and red. It wasn't funny at the time but it was after it was over. Well happy anniversary to those that had one and happy for those who have new grandbabies on the way!!!! Those grandbabies are rewards for us putting up with our kids all those years!!! Everybody have a great and safe day!!!

Cord, I love you and your family and paragraphs please. FCC.

Jerry Lee did "You Win Again" better than anybody else ever has. Great piano.

This was my fathers favorite version of the song. And mine too. I play it often and never get tired of the part where he hits the high note. And the piano run reminds me of Sister Vesta. Boy she could get er' going at the alter service. This is a great video with some classic pictures. Thanks for posting

SC that's what this show is about! Great show! SC we have a hidden gem here in Muhlenberg Co., it's called Felix Martin Hall, it brings in some great shows and the MDQ was one of them. It cost no more than $10 to get in any of the shows there! Sadly the place is hardly ever full, people have no idea what they are missing! When Mrs. M and I went to Branson the MDQ was there at the time, would have liked to watched it again.
But Mrs. M said no.

FCC were you ever a teacher? You sound like my sisters, three of them were teachers! LOL
When I was a young boy my mother would encourage me to write to her mother, my grandmother. I would write and she would answer. The first sentence of her letter read "son, you need to work on your penmanship". Then she would ask me what am I doing to help my mother around the house. She was of German blood and did not believe in playing around. Work, work, work, work. She was also a school teacher before she married. One tough woman.

All caught up and nothing / too much to do. Should go out and start cutting some wood but I'm not in the mood to hear the saw.

I made a blade guide yesterday for the inverted jigsaw in my table. I'll be doing some curved cuts before long and it'll come in handy for that.

I also sharpened a knife and turned some scrap MDF circles into coasters. Circles were left over from when I made the speakers. All I did was use 2 1/8" forstner bit in the center to make a shallow relief for the can to sit and knock off the edges with the sander.

Stoops and Co. are making our football lives much more livable, but at what price? The better they are, the better we're going to expect them to be. Losses going forward will no longer be written off with a simple "that's UK football". R U E?

I've been off my diet since before the Derby and I'm getting ready to get back on it. Gained right at 10 pounds so far. Surprised it isn't more with the way I've been abusing the privilege of eating anything I want whenever I want to eat it.

Paragraphs.

When I read and finish a line, and start the next line, I often lose my place. Now I can guess which line and if I concentrate hard enough there is no problem at all. So that's it. I'm too lazy to concentrate that hard. But I don't want to miss any of Cord's stuff either. Quite the problem. If that's the worse thing I deal with today, I'll be alright. FCC.

No problem I will work on it. Thanks for letting me know
FCC I "DO NOT MEAN ANYTHING I SAID TO MAKE YOU THINK I AM TRYING TO BE A SMARTA$$ OK". I just don't think anything about it when I start typing.

Remember when we went from 386 to 486? How about that leap to Pentium? Fun times!

Played Mean 18 and Leisure Suit Larry on green screens at work because those were the best computers I had access to.
Yeah when Windows 95 came out we didn't think it could get much better. Wrong!!

I played Leisure Suit Larry too. It was nice to have a "boss button" that you could press to change the game to a graph.
